Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 : One Step Closer

Sunny stepped out from the alley where Ramesh's place was tucked away. The world outside felt different today, the cold air sharper as it cut through his worn jacket. He took a deep breath, the faint noise of the city buzzing around him as he walked briskly, moving away from the shady, forgotten corner where people like Ramesh thrived.

The narrow street stretched ahead, and Sunny could already see the main road lined with busy shops and flashing billboards. As he moved closer to the heart of the city, the atmosphere seemed to shift. The buildings grew taller, their modern glass windows gleaming in the sunlight. The sharp contrast between this part of the city and Ramesh's neighborhood made the weight of his decision feel more tangible. He had made it this far. The rest was just a matter of reaching the right place.

His boots echoed on the pavement as he walked, lost in the rhythm of his steps. The thought of the Global Bank, a place so secure it was said to protect secrets that not even the wealthiest could breach, made him feel like a small cog in a much larger machine. His entire future was tied to that institution now. It wasn't just about the loan; it was about the opportunity to start over, to take control of his future.

After a few more minutes, the towering glass building of the Global Bank appeared on the horizon. It looked almost out of place, standing there like a monument to wealth and power. As he approached, the sight of the sleek architecture gave him a moment of pause. Here, no one cared about his past. The bank didn't see the man who had come from nothing. It only saw what he was willing to offer—the opportunity to be someone different.

Sunny stepped inside, immediately feeling the temperature drop a notch as the automatic doors slid shut behind him. The security was visible everywhere: guards, cameras, and an almost palpable sense of surveillance. It was a place that made you feel as though no secret could escape.

The teller greeted him with a polished smile, but Sunny couldn't help but feel the weight of the building pressing on him. He quickly went through the process, using his borrowed money to open the account. It was surreal, filling out the forms while knowing that soon enough, he would be able to access resources far beyond what he had ever imagined. This was the start.

A few minutes later, he stood outside the bank, a simple receipt in his hand. The world around him felt quieter now, less oppressive. He had done it. His next step was clear.

With a determined stride, Sunny headed toward the nearest electronics store. He didn't look back at the towering bank or the city streets—he was focused on the goal ahead. The VR headset he'd been eyeing for days was finally within reach. It was the first step to everything. With the headset, he could enter the game, earn, and start shaping the future he knew was waiting for him.

As he entered the store, the faint hum of digital screens and the display lights welcomed him. His gaze immediately fell on the VR headsets, each one more advanced than the last, but only one mattered—the one that would change everything.
