Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

It turns out Timothee took me to his huge mansion far from my previous home. There were a lot of incredibly beautiful and s*xy women there. I gripped Sawyer and Asher's shoulders tightly upon realizing that. Sneering glances started to shower over me, just like the way Ennik looked at me.

"Introduce yourselves. This is Barbara Palvin and her twin sons, Sawyer and Asher," Timothee raised his chin confidently while facing the four women.

"Oh yeah... I thought you had repented of finding mistresses," one woman with neatly tied-up hair quipped, shifting her gaze to the side.

"Who said she was a mistress?" Timothee put his hand in his pocket. "Her status could be higher than yours."

After saying that, Timothee signaled a butler to prepare the best chamber for us and left us to enter a room with a man with brunette, tousled hair.

One of the very arrogant women snorted and immediately left the main room, followed by the other three women. The butler cleared his throat and gestured for me to follow him upstairs. I ignored the women's behavior and quickly followed the butler.

Later that evening, as I was arranging some clothes in the wardrobe, Timothee entered without knocking on the chamber door.

"Are they asleep?"

I glanced at the exhausted Sawyer and Asher on the bed.

"Is there something you want to talk about?" I got straight to the point.

Timothee put his hand in his pants. "Well. About us."

"What do you mean?" I raised one of my eyebrows.

"I'm sure you also know that I am—"

"You've been with those women, so why do you still want recognition from me?"

"I want you to reciprocate, Barby." Timothee hissed. "Just answer honestly, Sawyer and Asher are my kids, right?"

"Why would you think that?" I averted my gaze.

"You can't lie to me. Just answer honestly." He insisted.

"No."

"Oh, is that so? Do you want me to arrange a special test then?" Timothee growled.

"Quit causing a ruckus in here. You're making their sleep uncomfortable," I grumbled.

Timothee grabbed my hand, gripping it tightly. "Why are you so in denial, stubborn, and annoying? You don't even show gratitude at all, even though I've helped you many times! What do you want?"

"I should be asking you that. What do you want from me? Why do you always linger around me? And why do you always—"

Timothee waved his arm, cutting me off. I flinched. He stormed out of my room with broad steps. I sank onto the bed with irregular breaths. The feeling of relief overwhelmed me when he acknowledged that Sawyer and Asher were his heirs. However, my fear of repeated betrayal made me reluctant to admit it. As the day turned into night, I stood on the balcony, contemplating what I needed to do to protect myself and my twin sons.

Many unexpected things happened. I thought I would be safe blending in with humans, but apparently not. There were many who targeted me here, and I hadn't realized it. Maybe my late father was right; I should have sought out Mom's whereabouts and learned something from her.

"Ma'am." A knocking sound startled me.

I quickly approached and opened the door.

"Ma'am, Lycan requests your presence, along with your twin sons, at the dining table." The butler bowed.

I glanced at Sawyer and Asher, who seemed hungry as they hadn't had lunch after school. "Ah yes, I'll be right there. Thank you."

The butler left, and I signaled them to follow me to the dining table. There, Timothee tapped the table a few times, indicating the blonde-haired woman to move further away.

"Lycan, why did you instruct the new concubine to sit in Beta Caitlin's seat? Isn't she your favorite beta?" The woman with curly hair protested.

"There's no favorite concubine except for a woman who produces heirs for me," Timothee retorted sharply.

Caitlin huffed in frustration and left her chair in a huff, causing it to topple. The butler set the chair upright and instructed me to sit.

Timothee's special treatment towards me drew annoyed glances from all the women. Especially when he stated that he wanted all concubines to obey my orders. Caitlin stormed out of the dining room.

"That's excessive, Tim—"

"What's excessive, mate?" as if to clarify my status, Timothee referred to me as his mate.

"You shouldn't have put me in this position," I said, lowering my head, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Listen, I don't want any of you pulling stupid stunts on Barbara and my two sons. If I find out you're doing that, I'll make sure you regret it for the rest of your life," Timothee declared loudly.

His words made all the women there bow their heads in fear, shooting me hateful glances. The awkward dinner came to an end right after dessert was served.

The next morning, I woke up feeling damp from the cold water. I coughed a few times and choked on my own saliva. Someone yanked my hair and dragged me out of bed before I could fully open my eyes.

"You jerk!"

"Give that bratty girl a lesson!" a woman exclaimed. She shoved me to the floor, dousing me with another bucket of cold water and tossing me with a broom and bucket.

"Clean up all the floors here, you brat. Just because you've won the heart of a Lycan doesn't mean you can act all high and mighty, bossing us around!" Caitlin kicked my leg. "Oh, Matilda. You really get it. Tell those two dumb kids to tidy up the garden."

Sawyer and Asher were pushed over to me.

"Hey! How dare you push—"

Slap!

My face turned to the left after that.

"Your bratty self is nothing more than a low-class flirt who likes to tease men!" Caitlin pointed at my face.

"What's the difference with you?" I tried to defend myself, tired of being the target of every woman who thought she was the prettiest and the Alpha's favorite.

"This brat really deserves a punishment, Caitlin," a woman in orange pajamas grinned.

"Well, of course. I'll make her regret messing up my plans." Caitlin snorted, then dragged me into a room.
