Lucas could hear the frustating voice of his manager yelling at him again. "God damn it Lucus where is the Big Mac it should have been out already!"
"What the hell do you mean! Maybe if mid shift restocked thier shit before they left we wouldn't be in this damn situation! It's always Lucas this Lucas that! How about you take this Big Mac and shove it up your ass!" Perhaps Lucas shouldn't have spoken his mind there but the frustration from the first thirty minutes of his shift was quickly building up.
He came in at the 6 o'clock rush and the cre members had left before doing thier side work! What the hell else was he going to do when the building had cars wrapped around the lot.
Running to the walk in cooler to get more Big Mac sauce his hopes had crumbled immediately. There was no sauce left. He wanted to bang his head in frustration. 'What the fuck! How the hell am I supposed to do my job when I don't even have the shit I need to do it?' Leaving the Walk in Lucas found the Manager waiting for him.
"Where is the sauce Lucas we're still waiting for that Big Mac Lucas! No what forget it your fired!"
Lucas breath hitched. He still needed this job for the months rent. Bills are due in a week and this was all he had to keep him going. His frustration. At its breaking point was threatening to spill out there. Not wanting to make the situation Lucas left fist clenched not saying a word. Just through his hat on the ground and left.
In the lot he saw that the chain his bike was on was cut and his bike was stolen.
"Fuck! Why can't shit be simple." By this point tears of frustration were already slipping out. His house was 5 miles away he could walk that but it was just too much.
The cloudy sky as if wanting to mock him began to poor. Lucas walked the streets home with nothing but the hoodie on his head to block the rain.
'Why can't life be simpler. Why do I have to live in this cruel world where everything seems to be against me?' Lucas chuckled bitterly as his hoodie began to get soaked and tears began to flow freely now that nobody was around to notice.
'I just wish I could have a life like one of those protagonists. I'd have all the plot armor. The world would bend in my favor. Love would be easy. Hell I wouldn't even mind being a side character either. When did that Choji kid from Naruto ever had to struggle?. Hell he even ended up with a hot girlfriend in the end. Karui sure wasn't no Temari or Hinata but she definitely wasn't ugly either. Don't think I've ever seen an I fly anime character now that I think about it. Well not counting one piece but that besides the point.'
'Maybe that not completely accurate in some case the side character have ti die for the plot armor of the main character to take effect. Take Neji for example. Naruto didn't lock in until one of his friends died in front of him. It's definitely better to be the main character.' Lucas scoffed thinking back to his situation. 'Side characters or main characters it doesn't matter I'd rather be one or the other than how I'm living now. Anything is better than being a background character. That was I am. I have no friends just associates or co workers… or rather I had those. I had family.'
Lucas after moving out and going to university had lost his immediate family members in a car crash 4 years ago. Not able to focus in his classes after the incident Lucas was forced to drop out in his third year. Originally he was ambitious. He wanted to go for a PsyD and became a psychiatrist. Those dreams died with his family. It was like a piece of his soul had already departed this world with them.
Since then he drifted through life only 22 years old he struggled to afford an apartment and didn't have the best money habbits. He had subscriptions in Hulu, Crunchyroll, and shonen jump. Needless to say anime and manga helped him pass the time. It gave him a glimpse back into his younger years where he and his brother would watch Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons after getting off the bus from school.
He watched many animes across different genres. Eventually his healthier habbits were replaced with these new habbits which only seemed to exist to help him procrastinate. To stagnate. While he didn't become obese, he did fall out of shape. This only contributed to his growing depression and hardships.
Lucas could help but bitterly chuckle to himself. "At one point I wanted to be a therapist, but now I'm the one who is actually in need of a therapist."
Lucas was cut away from his thoughts as he saw a truck run a red light with several police cars following. This occurred at the same time a Semi truck was pulling out and turning on the green light hitting the truck and two police cars in the process.
Lucas didn't have time to react to one of the police cars that began to flip and roll toward the sidewalk where he was walking. In an instant everything went black.
