The moment Roo's body went slack, Alexander moved first.
His silver eyes darkened as his arms shot forward, catching the unconscious omega before he could slump onto the mattress. His body was frighteningly light, bones fragile beneath soft skin, as if a single wrong move could shatter him.
Alexander's jaw clenched.
Ace cursed, running a hand through his silver-streaked hair. "Again?" His voice was a low growl, frustration laced with something else—something dangerously close to worry.
Alec exhaled, his golden gaze scanning Roo's pale face. His tiny fingers were still curled in the sheets, his breathing shallow but steady.
"He's weak," Alec muttered, pressing two fingers lightly against Roo's wrist. The faint, fluttering pulse beneath his touch made something in his chest tighten. "Too weak."
Alexander didn't respond. He just cradled Roo closer, his grip firm, possessive.
Ace scoffed, pacing near the foot of the bed. "No omega should be this weak. Hell, no werewolf should be this weak. What the fuck happened to him?"
Silence.
It was the question none of them had dared voice yet.
What had been done to him?
Alec's expression darkened. "We need answers."
Alexander's silver eyes flickered. "Then we find them."
Ace let out a low, humorless chuckle. "You say that like it's going to be easy."
Alexander's grip tightened around Roo's unconscious form. "I don't care if it is."
Alec met his brother's gaze, understanding flashing between them.
Ace clicked his tongue but didn't argue. He crossed his arms, golden eyes sharp. "Where do we start?"
Alexander glanced at Roo's fragile frame, then back at his brothers.
"The rogues."
Alec nodded. "They weren't just attacking him. They were trying to kill him."
Ace tilted his head. "Or capture him."
The thought settled between them, heavy and unspoken.
Alexander finally moved, gently laying Roo back down against the pillows. His fingers lingered on the omega's wrist for half a second longer than necessary before pulling away.
He turned toward Alec. "Call the enforcers. I want every rogue from that attack interrogated. Now."
Alec was already reaching for his phone.
Ace cracked his knuckles. "And if they don't talk?"
Alexander's silver eyes gleamed.
"Then we make them."
