Chapter 1 - The beginning

Starlight, your mission is to retrieve the jewel located on the planet Arkan, inside one of the Seven Rulers' Palaces, and that alone. Failure is not an option.

Good luck on your mission, Seeker.

――――――――――――――――――――――

A ship sails through the Sea of Stars, moving slowly yet steadily toward a planet blending a variety of colors—green, blue, red, and azure—surrounded by two incomplete rings.

Inside the ship, there is a small, white, sealed chamber, connected to several pipes.

Slowly, the doors begin to open, releasing a thick, cold white steam.

From the chamber emerges a humanoid figure—tired and groggy, short, and thin, with black hair reaching down to his back.

"Ughhhh..."

The being sighs, stretches, and slowly moves his body before opening his emerald-black eyes.

"Gareth... report the status."

The being moves toward the complex cockpit and throws his body onto the chair, gazing at the beautiful planet, vastly different from the stories. Its color and atmospheric appearance are calm and clear, unlike the images depicting it as a dead planet filled with radioactive waste.

"Oh, this is truly beautiful. Is it habitable?"

The being laughs, placing his hand on his chest as he stares at the planet with its shining golden rings while listening to the computer.

"But will this radiation harm me?" he asks with a chuckle.

"Can you pinpoint the locations of the Seven Palaces?"

The computer starts calculating and analyzing the locations as the ship hovers near one of the planet's many moons.

"Locate the nearest palace."

"Take me there, but make sure to keep a distance. The palace might still have anti-aircraft weapons."

The being chuckles lightly as he fastens his seatbelt.

"Better safe than sorry."

He closes his eyes as the ship plunges quickly into the planet's atmosphere, feeling the strong natural gravity of the planet, far stronger than the artificial gravity of the ship.

The freefall lasts for an entire hour, and as they approach the surface, the gravity intensifies. While the ship descends, the being struggles to maintain his posture due to the changing gravity, missing out on the beautiful view during the fall.

"Gareth, do you call this a safe landing?! I could barely keep my body in one place!!"

The being strengthens his body, then slowly stands, gripping the edges of the seat.

"Scan the outer surface and ensure there are no dangers around the ship."

The being says as he moves toward an armor panel made of a light yet strong material that doesn't hinder movement.

The computer responds as the being dons his armor, adjusting his body to fit it, then placing a helmet on his head, completely obscuring his face. He grabs a bag containing various equipment and a submachine gun in hand, waiting for the scan to complete.

After ten minutes, the scan finishes.

The being takes a deep breath, then slowly opens the ship's hatch, hoping the process will go smoothly without any issues.
