Chapter 9 - Chapter 9- System awakening

'Yes, the same as you.'

Seeing how, out of all people, she was calling this old man smart already gave me evidence of her own mind's processing power.

The reason I knew this old man's mental capabilities was from the original plot of the story where after Kyle awakened his system.

Naturally, given the feature of the invincible domain system, he began to marry and have several children to grow stronger before ascending to the upper realm.

He left this old body weight behind here, who then, in absence of any strong major characters that had already ascended to the upper realm, chose the forbidden technique to sacrifice individuals and himself, choosing the demonic path to become stronger after falling for the trap laid by a demon who just wanted an idiot human to create a way for it to return to the mortal world.

Obviously, after the demon came into this mortal world, the first thing it did was kill this old man who sacrificed thousands to summon that demon.

So, IQ points for the old man were zero.

This world has nine realms, to be exact—excluding hidden ones—with the upper realms inhabited by powerful cultivators who were seen as immortals by those in the lower realms.

On the ninth realm existed the Celestial Dragon Continent, which was divided into four major kingdoms.

Just like how a story moves forward and the plot develops, after Kyle secretly grew stronger following Leon's death and the fall of the Northern Territory into the Princess's hands, Kyle—who was the illegitimate son of Duke Artucus—escaped to a neighboring kingdom to save himself from being killed too.

There, he began to marry women—mostly random ones—since he was not a prince and hardly any strong women would show interest in him.

And who would even marry a poor, handsome man with a trashy personality where he talks down to every woman?

After all, it may appear that a handsome man can get as many women as he wants, but in truth, the women he attracts would be more interested in sharing a bed with him rather than sharing a life.

At least this was the truth of life.

So, his system had a unique domain ability—it doesn't make its host invincible at all.

While it didn't make him invincible, it allowed him to farm and eventually form an army of cultivators made up of his wives and children by bestowing cultivation upon them.

Indeed, he can make others invincible—his wives and children—but not himself.

Not that it was a hassle for a major character on a strong path toward cultivation journey.

Vaguely speaking, it had two features: whoever Kyle killed would drop their bloodline, physique, internal energy, and other attributes like experience points or loot in a game.

These could be collected by Kyle and stored in inventory, then bestowed upon his wives based on their favorability level toward him or given to his children.

There were, of course, a few more details, but who cares? Now that Kyle was already dead.

So, no system was coming here.

Thud.

"Haah, N-no, no! Are you an immortal?!"

The old man's reaction pulled me out of my thoughts. It was exactly what I had expected. Given his sharp mind, he finally realized that inside Leon's body was me—an immortal from the upper realm.

"Tch, aren't you the smart one, old man?" I shook my head as I rubbed my foot on Kyle's face before removing it. It felt odd seeing my own face being crushed underfoot.

Wait, now that I think about it, why did Kyle look like me?

I turned to a nearby mirror on the drawer and saw my face, which was clearly the same as Kyle's and also identical to the one I had in my previous life.

I hadn't noticed it until now, but if you removed the eye color, my face was a complete copy of my previous one, just slightly more handsome.

"Ah, ah, Young Master, your death was futile."

Why is he moaning? I looked toward the old man as he, as if having lost everything, stared at his hands. He seemed to be struck by the five stages of grief before finally reaching acceptance. He then lifted his eyes toward me and inquired, "Immortal, I beg your pardon for my young master not recognizing you and mistaking you for that useless Leon instead of someone who had taken over his body. Please show me mercy."

"Mercy, you say? Give me the epitaph of the royal seal, and I may consider it," I finally demanded the most important thing I needed, the very reason I had orchestrated this whole drama.

Likewise, I wasn't the least bit interested in gaining loyalty from this senile old man.

After all, there is a saying that a smart enemy is better than a foolish friend.

'!'

"Y-yes, it's here," the old man swiftly stood up, visibly confused as to why an immortal would need the identity seal of a prince. He quickly retrieved a jade emblem inscribed with symbols from the prince's dimensional ring before kneeling and offering it to me, much like a knight presenting a sword.

"Good, very good," I maintained my act as I reached out for the jade seal. Knowing full well what would happen when I touched the old man, I brushed my fingers directly against his palm while lifting the seal.

Thud.

His body, which had the highest cultivation level among them, collapsed to the floor, dead.

'...You are too venomous,' I silently complimented the snake woman sitting on my head, noting how even the old man—who should have been considered the strongest among them—was now lying dead on the ground.

I glanced at the seal, the reason I had pretended to be an immortal here.

Technically, at the end of the story, when the other major characters achieve their feats on the Celestial Dragon Continent, they all face off against a kind of immortal who had descended from the upper realm into some random individual's body in a weakened state after escaping through some forbidden techniques.

This creates a plot where readers are kept on edge, thinking the major characters are facing the strongest beings, while in truth, these encounters serve as a ladder for the characters to ascend to the upper realm, where each one has their own story.

Not that it had any significance to me, given that one would hardly ever witness a real immortal.

Most of them would try to avoid this useless continent, which had its path to immortality severed millennia ago.

'This would do.' Looking towards the seal on my hand which was typically found in most cultivation novels as proof of their affiliation, a jade emblem, which was vital for me to have for official formalities like signing documents or having identification that I am Kyle.

As even though I was an illegitimate son of the Duke, most probably the other heirs in the family would try to get rid of me, as in the end, I also have a say in the head seat.

So, thinking that by laying low I would survive would be a mistake.

I needed to be as shiny as possible so that others couldn't even look at me.

'Wait, am I going through brain roting?', For a second after realizing how I was talking like the arrogant young masters, I realized that living in this world was having a side effect on my mind. I checked it as I moved towards Kyle and started to remove his clothes.

:: Humans are degraded creatures, violating the nature of existence and trying to have relations with the same gender ::

'I am just removing his clothes, you idiot.' Hearing the nonsense uttered by the woman, I started to remove my clothes too after I was already done with Kyle.

I had always heard how the young masters of major clans have a metal plate protecting their lineage but it was the first time after removing his robe that I saw metal plates really covering his crotch area.

'As expected, I don't have any metal plates.' I noticed that the only thing over my body was this tattered cloth, not even underwear, as a lump of meat hung between my legs.

'Hm.... why is this huge?' Looking down, I realized that not only was I similar to my past self, but this thing was similarly big as before too, similar to those shown in the porn videos—but who cares—I already died being a virgin without getting a decent girl, even with this so-called overhyped dick size.

Does size matter?

Yes, of course, only if you have a girlfriend.

I also noticed how mine was even bigger than Kyle's—a casual observation.

'And he thought we looked the same, telling a dragon to act like a snake.'

:: Hm, where's the dragon? ::

I heard a curious word from that mosquito sitting on my head before she leaned, grabbing my hair as she tried to look down at what I was talking about.

:: Isn't it just your reproductive organ? Where's the dragon? ::

'Let it soar through the heavens; you will eventually find out.' At least I felt how she seemed numb to the physical bodies of others, given her identity as a reaper and having already seen beyond human bodies.

It was surprising to see her having this mature side of hers, uncaring as I finally dressed up.

'Now, we just need to head to the capital city.' I was just thinking about heading towards the capital city as per the plan forth, but suddenly I heard a voice which was clearly not that of the woman.
