On the region of Tariana,
A man is seen picking berries,
"Hey Eevee, found lunch," John said to his Eevee,
"Vee!" Eevee was delighted to find food,
"What are you doing?" An unknown person asked
"Picking berries— Wait who are you?" John replied, you can literally see a question mark levitating above his head,
"Bug catcher Levi! I'm gonna be a bug gym leader!" Levi exclaimed,
"Ah, okay. Where is the nearest town?" John had already exhausted all but one of his potions, so a Pokémon center would've been nice,
"I'll tell you if you defeat me in battle!" Levi answered, he was raring to go for a battle.
"Heh… okay," John knew Eevee was already in bad condition, and so he had to use the last potion,
"Ee-vue!" Eevee was delighted and was in good condition now.
"Okay, let's do this, Weedle!" Levi sent out Weedle,
"Wee-dle!" Weedle used string shot, but Eevee used Swift to counter it,
"Bue!" Eevee used Swift again, and hit Weedle,
"Weed!" Weedle used tackle, but Eevee used Quick attack and Weedle fainted,
"Aw man, Pallet Town is up north from here," Levi said,
"Thanks!" John went north,
Meanwhile..
"Welcome back Ash!" Said Prof. Oak,
"Hello! The Master's Eight Tournament was fun," Ash said, he had finally become the Very Best, or did he?
"Hey, Ash, what are you going to do now that you've become the Very Best?" A Gary asked,
Ash: "…"
"Don't know, maybe I'll retire and be a farmer," Ash said,
"Oh and Ash, have you seen my Eevee?" Prof. Oak was talking about the Partner Eevee John caught,
"What Eevee?" Ash asked,
"When I gave you Pikachu, I found an Eevee, which I forgot to catch, and I researched it, it seemed to never evolve like your Pikachu," Prof. Oak said,
"Wait, Pikachu can't evolve??? So that explains how he slapped a thunder stone away with his tail once," Ash was confused aboutg Eevee and Pikachu's origins,
Prof. Oak demonstrated by throwing a thunder stone at Pikachu, which he slapped away at Ash's face,
"Ow!" Ash exclaimed,
"Oh? It seems we have a visitor…" Oak said, looking at the entrance,
