As I open my eyes from my sleep I wonder WHO IN GODS NAME IS CALLING ME.

I reach for my phone and see the caller ID

( Dumb fuck )

( Accept ) ( Deny )

I hit the accept button and before I can get a word out I hear.

"Yo yo yo Dan my man. I got one tiny favor I got to ask you "

Knowing Alex this favor will be anything but small

" WHAT Alex I just got up thanks to you so what do you need"

He takes a second to respond

" No need to thank me dude happy to wake you up any time"

I'm half liable to hang up on him after hearing him say that but before I can give that thought any more time he continues

" Anyways back on track I need you to go to this Con with me"

a Con he wake me up for THIS!?!?

Almost as if Alex can read my mind he says

" I already got the tickets purchased and I made us each a cosplay that way we can take some photos and have fun"

I lay there on my bed soaking in everything Alex just said before I simply respond

" fuck Fine be at your place in about an hour I need to take a shower first"

" Ok see you in a bit Dan"

As I drag my ass out of my bed and head to my bathroom I step into the shower and let the water wash over me.

After a bit of time I decided to get out of the shower. When I'm done drying my self off I brush my teeth and get a quick shave in.

I look myself in the mirror afterwards still seeing that I have my stupid ass low taper fade. Last time I make a bet with Alex.

When I'm done with the bathroom I decided to put on some dark blue jeans and a simple white undershirt after I'm done getting dressed I grab my keys and walk out the door.

As I pull up to Alex place I shoot him a text.

[ Dude I just pulled up ]

I see him typing his response

[ Ok bro be out in a minute ]

I sit out in my car for about 15 minutes before I see Alex walk out. He is carrying two big ass duffle bags he opens the door to my back seats and sits the two duffle bags down.

As Alex sits down in my car I ask him the obvious question

" What the hell is in the two duffel bags"

Alex looks at me like I asked the stupidest question in the world

" Are cosplays you idiot"

I shoot Alex a death glare and he sends one back in return this lasts for what feels like 3 minutes after I give up I asked him another question

" Okay now where's the con at"

After Alex gives me the directions I start making our way there.

while I'm driving my mind wanders to when I first met Alex.

It was the first day of kindergarten it was during free time when the teacher was letting us draw. I was sitting next to Alex at the time and I was drawing Goku.

After a bit of drawing for some reason I decided to look at Alex's drawing next to me and he was also drawing Goku being the excited kid I was I immediately asked him.

"You're drawing Goku. so do you like Goku?"

Hearing someone talk to him got Alex's attention and he simply responded with

" Yep he is the best"

And that's it that's how I met my best friend.

From that day forward we were unseparable.

When I'm done reminiscing we reach the parking lot of the place.

After I find a parking spot I see that this is a basic anime convention. Looking over at Alex I see that he's excited about this.

"So Alex what are we going as?"

That seems to draw him out of a stupor

"Oh shit right I never told you. So you know last week when we made that bet where you had to get a low taper fade if you lost."

I feel my hair while giving Alex a dirty look.

" I vaguely remember"

Alex is not phased one bit by my look

"Well I made that bet with you so you'd be ready for the cosplay I made for us"

"And what would that be Alex?"

"We're going to be going as okuyasu nijimura and josuke higashikata from JoJo's part 4"

After giving it a second to soak in what he just said. I think we could pull it off

" Okay dude I am down. But where are we going to get ready?"

Alex has a look of Joy on his face that is quickly washed away by a look of defeat

" You forgot we need a place to change didn't you"

I hear Alex responding in nothing but a whisper

"yep"

" Ok I'll drop us by motel so we can get ready"

Alex still responding in nothing but a whisper gives me his thanks

After the con is over for the day me and Alex decide to walk down to a bar. As we walk there we see a good number of cosplayers that also have the same idea.

Alex is walking in front of me looking at his phone reviewing all the pictures we took throughout the day.

As we're crossing the street I see something barely towards Alex out the corner of my eye knowing whatever it is. Is going to hit him I rushed to Alex and push him out of the way only I myself was too slow to get out of the way.

I thought getting hit by a car would be more painful but I can't feel a thing

I can vaguely see Alex turned around and rushed me after I was hit he grabs on to me and starts to speak but I can barely hear him. He sounds so faint

" Dude no no get up dude Dan stay with me"

I can see Alex's mouth moving but I can't hear what he's saying anymore.

I can't feel anything anymore it's weird and I can't see anything.

Is this what dieing feels like.

I have no idea what this thing is I have no way of describing it. Every time my mind tries to understand what this thing is it changes.

I don't see a reason not to accept I'm dead anyways might as well see if this is just a hallucination or if this is real

"I accept your offer"
