Chapter 1 - Two Young Successors

Located in the heart of a large yard adorned with miniature gardens and shaded by trees, the Triatma family's mansion loomed majestically. On that particular morning, gentle sunshine filtered through the living room's expansive glass windows, casting a comforting glow throughout the house. The aroma of freshly cooked toast wafted through the kitchen, joining the scent of artfully arranged, beautiful plants.

At the crack of morning, the workers got to work. While some workers hurriedly carried breakfast trays, others meticulously inspected every corner of the room to ensure everything was perfect. Mrs. Ratmi, a senior staff member, oversaw a small kitchen crew as they made Hano and Tita's favorite meals. The family's requirements were met in the dining area as head butler Mr. Wiryo verified the arrangement of spoons and glasses.

Hano and Tita had recently gotten out of the tub upstairs. Hano, the more serious and elder of the two, came out of the restroom with his hair still damp. He was all dressed for dinner, in a plain white t-shirt and pants. As she changed into her formal clothes, Tita was in the next room, calmly drying her hair with a towel.

Mr. Wiryo and Mrs. Ratmi were already seated at the dinner table, ready to greet them. The room was filled with the perfume of kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass in the nasi uduk, and white porcelain dishes were presented with sandwiches of cheese and sausage. One of the employees grabbed a chair as soon as Hano stepped down the steps. "Good morning, Young Master Hano," Mr. Wiryo politely greeted. Hano nodded slightly and smiled a bit. Not long after that, Tita walked lightly into view. "Good morning, Young Mistress Tita," Mrs. Ratmi said with a friendly smile.

Hello, Mrs. Ratmi. The aroma is very delightful. "Another Nasi Uduk, huh?" As she settled into her chair, Tita spoke with a cheery tone. Hano had begun to fill his glass with matcha milk. They sat quietly and enjoyed their breakfast, talking lightly to each other from time to time.

"I heard that all the senior personnel will be present at the inauguration today," Tita added abruptly as she set down her spoon. "Mrs. Ratmi. Please provide me with the truth."

Miss Ratmi gave a subtle nod in agreement. "Indeed, my dear mistress. Some of them even want to be there in person to see it all. They wish for you the best as you continue the work of your late parents, whom they held in the highest regard."

A tinge of concern showed in Tita's eyes as she offered a subtle grin. "Tita, they simply want to see us succeed," Hano remarked after giving her a quick look. "It is unnecessary for us to second-guess the expectations of others. We should only attend to the tasks at hand."

"I understand," Tita whispered back. "However, I must admit that I am still uneasy."

"Young Master Hano, Young Mistress Tita, I'm confident you'll do well," Mr. Wiryo calmly interjected, the whole time listening to the talk. Your tireless efforts to get ready for this day are well known.

Hano nodded courteously, and Tita grinned widely. "I appreciate it, Mr. Wiryo. I hope everything goes well for us, and please wish us luck."

Since they weren't required to adhere to the usual protocols of ordinary employees, they were allowed to eat and drink at their leisure.

They washed their hands in a basin of staff-made water that had lime in it after breakfast. Their morning meal was topped off perfectly by the perfume of fresh citrus. Standing up and gently tapping his sister on the shoulder, Hano was the first to return to their rooms. "Listen, there's no need to give it too much consideration. All we have to do is review our previous materials. Keep in mind that everyone who has faith in this organization benefits from our actions, not only ourselves."

Before going to their separate rooms, they had a short conversation. Being Hano's younger sister, Tita began to talk. "I believe it is unjust that our parents passed away so long ago, and yet here we are, all grown up. It doesn't matter to me whether it's this inauguration or any other. In any case, it belonged to us since our parents passed it on to us."

Hano gave a subtle smile in response. "How do we proceed? These are rules set by the government. Only direct descendants are eligible to inherit the position, and there are specific conditions to take over. And even if it could, we'd still need to sign documents and have witnesses. The state would take and recover the funds if any fraudulent activity was found."

Even though Tita knew the regulations, she nevertheless shook her head. "Immersive, isn't the government? Frankly, I'm finding it difficult. It really bothers me to see people carrying heavy loads for such low pay. The labor ministry's regulations also include all of that."

In addition to shaking his head, Hano lifted both of his hands. "Because we are businesses and not qualified to run for office (the only persons who can do so are the offspring or grandchildren of former presidents), we stay out of politics. Demo crazy is a better description of what's meant to be a democracy, haha."

Tita gave silent assent. It is "demo crazy, I'll admit. That's likely the reason why individuals are keeping their money in the bank and the economy isn't picking up speed. Despite the fact that our minister of finance has served for twenty years, in the early years and now in his twilight years. Looking at his job history, you'll see that he has experience working with the World Bank and central banks in wealthy nations. What about running this nation? His ridiculous credentials don't disguise his utter incompetence."

Hano let out a deep breath. "Maybe all he's doing is collecting a paycheck. That is how it is; all they are doing is acting like they work. Discussing this foolish regime is becoming old for me."

Hano let out a deep breath. Maybe all they're doing is collecting paychecks. Their only activity is acting as if they are working. I'm sick of bringing up this inept and foolish administration. Standing up, he signaled to his sister. "Alright, Tita, let's get ready to go. We should not keep them waiting any longer than necessary. Avoid becoming like them by resisting the urge to be lazy. Let's demonstrate our honesty."

They each went to their rooms to change their clothes. Hano unlocked a vast wardrobe brimming with suits in his room. The staff had ironed a black suit for him, and he matched it with a white shirt and a dark blue tie. He meticulously examined his reflection in the mirror, making sure it was spotless. Before taking the momentous move forward that day, he attempted to relax himself by taking a deep breath.

Tita, meanwhile, was preparing herself in the room across from her. She wore a pencil skirt, a light gray jacket, and a white blouse with lace collar embellishments. Her lengthy locks were casually done, with a little ribbon knotted half-up. Standing in front of the mirror, she took a quick look at her name tag, which proudly displayed her title: "Dwi Tita Prunormo, CEO." She murmured softly to herself, "I will give it my all."

Mrs. Ratmi knocked on their doors to make sure they were ready to go when she thought they were ready. The vehicle was patiently waiting outside, and the family driver stood politely by the entrance. Even though it was only the beginning of the day, Hano and Tita had begun their journey as the legal heirs of their parents' business in a home full of memories and optimism.

The siblings had a memorable day this morning. They were on their way to the office where their parents had left the business so that they could officially take over as proprietors.

Triatma Data Center Corporation, their parents' business, persevered through challenging times with the support of numerous individuals, including members of their extended families on both sides and the dependable individuals who kept the company operational. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Prunormo, began the company while he was young, and it served small enterprises by providing data storage. Believing in its mission and working tirelessly to achieve it, it became one of the most prominent technological companies in the nation very quickly.

Its ownership of shares was complexly partitioned, and it is now a publicly listed business. Hano and Tita had complete say over the company's fate because they held 30% of the shares, which was equal to 15% each. Twelve percent went to members of their parents' extended families, eight percent went to workers via the REPO program, and fifty percent went to the general public.

The Triatma family, from which their father was born, had a long history of business success in the real estate and manufacturing industries, among others. They could have interfered directly, but instead they chose to back Hano and Tita. Contrarily, the Prunormo family, who were maternal, placed a greater emphasis on education and research, which gave the business a strong intellectual basis.

The company owes its success to the merging of their father's financial ability with their mother's intellectual vision. Problems remained, though, and striking a balance between operational demands and the interests of public stockholders was especially difficult.

In his role as chief financial officer, Hano ensured the firm's financial security. The financial team looked up to him as a leader because he was cool under pressure and could think critically. At the same time, Tita possessed keen strategic vision in his role as CEO. Among the most promising young female executives in the computer business, her ability to make daring judgments had already been established, despite her early age.

It was more than simply a symbolic event; today's inauguration as the company's official owners meant that their future was intertwined with the company's. Hano and Tita were prepared to confront the obstacles that lay ahead, with the help of their extended family and a dedicated staff, and they would see to it that their parents' legacy would not only endure but flourish.
