It's been about 3 years since I found out my father's identity. It's weird to tell myself that in this life, my father is kinda a piece of shit adored by many, in my previous life my father, he was a good man.
Since then, not much has really changed. I go to school, train, then spend time with my friends and my mother.
Now that I think about it, it's not that different from my old life but it's quite different from my old life in a way, but I feel a lot more alive here.
I'm from San Francisco, my name was Josh Hamilton, I used to live on Polk Street near the KFC, not sure if you know the place, but anyway, life was nice there even though it wasn't always easy. I used to do things... I was just a twenty-year-old guy who didn't really know what to do with his life.
Here, I can have it all—power, wealth, success, everything I've always dreamed of having.
In my past life, I was a D1 basketball player at UCF, but I got injured during my sophomore season, and things didn't go as I had hoped afterward.
I had friends, but you know, with college, people tend to drift apart. Deep down, I was really bored, so when I ended up in that white room, it felt like a kind of liberation.
If I become a top hero, if not the best, I will have everything, without exception.
Like last time, I was watching TV and flipping through the channels, and at least 9 of them had documentaries of all kinds about All Might. This guy is really living this life, and to think that in a few years, his injury will stop him because right now, he's already injured—it's mind-blowing.
Anyway, all this to say that I'm determined to make it.
But let's get back to the point, I am in middle school now, in my final year, to be exact.
As I mentioned earlier, three years have passed, I've actually grown as well I'm now 1.87m at 14 years old.
I'm at Soumei Junior High School, thanks to my grades and the fact that my mother makes a good living. You know the private school Iida went to, because of that, this year I'm not at the same school as Mirio and Tamaki; they're at Ushimi Middle School, a public school. Our schools aren't far from each other, so we meet up often.
I made two friends at this school. Daichi Arashi, his quirk allows him to blow small storms or gusts of wind from his mouth, he's pretty short, around 1.64m, I think. He has slightly tanned skin, brown spiky hair that sticks up, and a little orange streak of hair that falls down. He's more of the outgoing type, and then there's Mayu Chikara, she is 1.78m tall, has very pale skin, and burgundy hair tied up in a ponytail with a ribbon. She also wears glasses. Her quirk is pretty common; it's just super strength. She's neither introverted nor extroverted, though.
One day of class...
"Today we will talk about your future choices, which schools you want to join at the end of this year, and the professions you could see yourself doing later on. Once you've thought about it, I will hand you a sheet where you will write down this information. Be sure to indicate the high school or high schools you wish to apply to," Professor Tako tells us.
He walks around the room and hands out the sheets. Some students start writing directly on their sheets, others are thinking, while some are whispering to each other, consulting on the choices they should make.
'Personally, I have two ideas running through my head. One tells me to go to U.A., break All Might's records, and establish myself as the new prodigy at the best high school in the world. The other idea is to go to a school like Shiketsu High School or Ketsubutsu Academy High School and make it the number one school, because in three years of high school, there will surely be events, inter-school competitions.
In the manga and anime, we haven't seen much interaction with other schools, but that's because we arrive at U.A. and the problems start right away. These events will only take place when I'm in my final year of high school.'
While I was lost in thought, I heard Daichi whisper in my right ear, "Takashi, do you know where you're going to go?"
"Pull your head back, Daichi, no need to be that close."
"We were calling you with Mayu, but you weren't responding, bro...I had to do it" He responds theatrically.
"Stop making that face" Mayu, who is on my left, says to Daichi. Which made him feel even more smug.
Tss "Anyway, what are you planning to do, Daichi?" I ask him.
"Obviously, someone with as much charisma as me has only one path, to be a hero, right?!"
"Arashi Daichi, speak more quietly, and I won't say it again." Professor Tako, who was talking to other students, says from the other side of the classroom.
"Of course, for school, obviously U.A." He becomes a bit calmer.
"And you, Mayu, what are you planning to do?" I turn to her and ask.
"I'm torn between the hero course, the support course, and the management course—basically, all the courses except the general one. As for the school, I'm torn between U.A. and Shiketsu High School because my father went there, so I'll apply to both and see what I'll do," she says.
"Geez, for being indecisive, you're really indecisive," he says, tapping me on the shoulder. "So, what about you? Do you know what you're going to do?"
"Honestly, Daichi, I'm also undecided about what to choose—not when it comes to the course, I'm going for the hero course, but when it comes to the school" I reply.
"How can you hesitate? You're the number one student at one of the best private schools in the country, so go to the best high school, U.A. will welcome you with open arms," We can see the shock on his face.
"I know, I'll probably be a recommended student as well, but I'm still thinking it over"
