Chapter 11 - Eyes Within The Dark.

Time slowly passed by.

Clark, after controlling the character for a couple of minutes—advancing steadily toward the depths of the corridor—can't help but suddenly halt in his tracks.

His eyes narrowed in confusion as he stared at the broken arch windows beside him, revealing the familiar bleak scenery outside as an uncomfortable yet unspeakable sensation welled up within his heart.

Even though he had continuously controlled the character to walk forward for a couple of minutes, never slowing down or halting, he noticed that the scenery around him remained the same, giving him a feeling that the character never moved an inch from its previous location.

"Is there a chance that there is more than one abomination within the mansion?

"Huff~ this game is much harder than I expected."

Feeling a bad premonition within his mind, Clark hurriedly controlled the character to look at its back, only for his eyes to shrink and tremble greatly upon seeing the familiar passage leading toward the entrance of the mansion...

Making him certain that his character didn't move an inch! As if everything that had just occurred was simply a product of his imagination!

Of course, if only that were the case, Clark's expression wouldn't change that much... Thinking that it's one of the game's tricks in order to make him uncomfortable.

"Thi-this!"

With eyes filled with fright, Clark frightfully beheld a pair of glowing eyes peeking through the edge of the old wall, intently staring at his character's physique playfully — giggling as its innocent voice entered his ears, causing him to feel an unprecedented chill within his heart.

Noticeably, even after staring at the entity for a couple of seconds, Clark was unable to discern its physique; he could only see tidbits of the bloody dark skin of the being that fully fused with the shadows around it.

However, although he couldn't completely see the silhouette of the being, based on its height and build, he had a feeling that it was similar to a child. At least not exceeding 10 years of age.

"A child? No, it should be a ghost..."

Seeing that the ghost hadn't shown any animosity, only observing his character with curiosity, Clark couldn't help but remember the countless horror movies that he had watched in the past—feeling that his character's current situation was quite similar to some of them.

"Indeed, maybe it was a child hoping for salvation, allowing its soul to finally rest in peace.

"Would it give me some quest to help it exact revenge or find a specific answer?"

As Clark was hesitating, unsure whether to approach the entity or not. The ghost suddenly shrieked in his direction, shaking Clark's soul as he could faintly discern the alarm within the other party's voice.

After shrieking, the glowing eyes of the entity abruptly shifted upward, gazing at the staircase leading to the second floor with anxiety reflected in its abnormal eyes as its being hurriedly faded toward the shadows—fusing within before vanishing in a matter of seconds...

However, before it completely faded, the entity again gazed in his direction. Opening its mouth before shouting to him to run.

This?!

Not even a second passed by...

As the foreboding sensation within his body began to amplify.

As he was staring at the location where the entity had just vanished in confusion.

Crack!

Within the edge of the passage, a thick, deformed hand, only having 3 fingers, suddenly resurfaced from the dark shadows—gripping the wall with force, causing the old concrete to create a faint cracking sound.

Following that, the repulsive silhouette of the malice emerged within the passage; its deformed head almost reached the ceiling while it gripped a decapitated head covered in bite marks on its other hand appeared within the dim screen.

Its crimson vertical eyes, unfolding a crescent shape, signifying its ecstasy, directly stared at the character's trembling being.

Salivating as it instinctively licks the corner of its lips.

"F*ck. I'm dead this time."

Sure enough, after staring at the character's physique for a few seconds, the abomination suddenly releases a harsh, jarring roar. Its heavy body, akin to a tank, suddenly lunged toward his direction, throwing the decapitated head it was holding toward the far distance as it released a series of gulping.

Seeing this, Clark hurriedly controlled the character, planning to run toward the depths of the corridor but only in vain.

Just as the character moved from its position, the thick hand of the abomination, covered in dried blood and peeled skin, abruptly and swiftly caught the character's head, lifting the whole physique of the character high above as it released an eerie laugh that echoed through the mansion.

With saliva flowing from the corner of its lips, the abomination hurriedly yet excitedly opened its mouth, unfolding its decaying yellowish teeth filled with tartar to the struggling character before biting the character's left shoulder—ripping its flesh in an instant as blood began to flow unceasingly.

-25% health.

Gnawing the flesh of the character with relish, the abomination then began to slowly consume the body parts of the character, bite by bite, pieces to pieces—unfolding a revolting scene within the dim screen in the process—making Clark, who was silently watching, feel repulsive.

Soon, after a couple of minutes of struggling, missing chunks of flesh while creating a sticky puddle of blood in the ground, the character's health finally reduced to 0%, directly leading to its death.

"Fortunately, I didn't need to start at the beginning."

Seeing this, Clark, with eyes half closed, couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief, massaging his brows before clicking the accept button.

Argh!

However, just after his finger touched the dim screen, an agonizing pain, originating from his head, as if someone was ripping part of his brain, suddenly assaulted his senses—catching him off guard as he couldn't help but cry in pain.

Grasping his head, Clark could faintly feel the throbbing of his veins, making him hiss uncontrollably as he slightly opened his eyes...

Revealing the bloodshot eyes within.
