Taking in a deep breath, Saturis exhaled as he rose onto his feet, stretching his body to ensure everything was working as it should. And though he felt a little pain at first, it soon subsided so that he was at a hundred percent.
It had taken a moment, but Saturis had realized that he was completely nude. After coming to this realization, he saw a glimpse of a green fabric behind a shrub. The exact color of the Encoded uniform he was wearing.
Racing toward it, Saturis took a knee and pulled it out of the corner. But when he saw the entirety of the bloody clothing, he frowned. It was only the jacket, and also, it was completely ruined. The green jacket had holes everywhere. His sleeves were gone and he no longer had a working zipper.
As for his trousers, he erected himself and began to search for that one.
"Perhaps you could walk around like me." A familiar voice rang in Saturis' head, and within the second, the Kriten formed from thin air in front of his face.
"I mean it's not a bad idea." The Kriten said with a smile, but Saturis just continued to frown.
Ignoring the Kriten, Saturis began to look for his trousers around the immediate vicinity. It didn't take him long to find it sprawled on a shrub, and though he was excited at first, a frown creased his brows yet again when he noticed his trousers wasn't spared either.
It likewise was torn in almost every area, and his trousers couldn't even be called that anymore, because it was now shorts.
Seeing this, Saturis sighed, as he contemplated to himself how ridiculous he would look wearing this.
"You could just go with my idea." The Kriten said, causing Saturis to frown even harder.
Without saying a word, Saturis shook his shorts so it would be free from the trace amounts of blood on it. Then, he wore his jacket next, evening out the pair.
"I was wondering, why not give me a name? I don't think Kriten is very practical."
Upon hearing this, Saturis had rolled his eyes as he began to scan his surroundings. Searching for a landmark.
"You won't be needing a name." Saturis said, as he realized he wouldn't be able to see anything past all the trees. He needed to get to higher ground. But at soon as that thought had crossed his neurons, a slight chill ran up his spine when he remembered what lurked in the sky.
"Are you sure you don't want to give me a name?" The Kriten had asked yet again. And this time, Saturis held himself back from sighing in annoyance.
"I'll just go halfway up then." Saturis had said to himself, while completely ignoring the Kriten.
"Rude." The Kriten said with a pout, before sitting crossed legged on a branch and slouching with his jaw on one hand.
Walking up to a tree, Saturis stretched his limbs a little. He looked at the highest branch he could see, then he thought of his new body, his newfound strength and wondered to himself how high he could jump.
Pulling himself back like a spring, Saturis prepped himself. Then, letting go, he found his entire body was flung into the air, so he passed the branch his was originally aiming for. Which stood at around three meters.
"No way..." Saturis did not get to finish his sentence before crashing head first into another branch. So his ascent came to an abrupt halt as he began to descend.
But he didn't get to descend too far before grabbing onto another branch and holding himself in place.
While feeling the sting on his head, a laughter had broken out into the air.
Turning to the origin point of the laughter, Saturis found the Kriten laughing, which made him frown in annoyance.
Hoisting himself onto the branch he held onto, he patted himself off as though he was covered in dust, then he spoke.
"You know, I think I've got a perfect name for you." Saturis said, before returning his sights to the tree branches.
"Really? What is it?" The Kriten asked.
"The perfect name for you. Would be Nuisance." Saturis replied as he began to ascend the tree.
The Kriten now named Nuisance did not react immediately, but when it sunk in, he had burst.
"What?!"
Upon hearing this, Saturis actually found himself grinning.
"You can't be serious." Nuisance said before flying up to Saturis' side.
"Well I am." Saturis said, while wondering to himself why he didn't just leap onto the next branch. He could clean out three meters in a hitch, so why couldn't he do the same for the others.
Looking up, he gauged how far he needed to ascend. And when the thought of jumping cane to mind, what accompanied said thought was the image of him jumping too high by accident. And then getting swooped up by some creature hiding in wait.
"Maybe another time." Saturis said to himself, settling on the idea that he would try jumping when he had gotten a grasp on how high he could go.
"I don't like it." Nuisance said with a whine, pulling Saturis out of his head.
Ignoring him, Saturis continued up while Nuisance continued to whine.
Finally reaching a good vantage point, Saturis didn't get to even settle onto a branch before freezing in place by what he saw.
In front of him, were several monsters each towering at ten meters in the air. They were in a variety of shapes and sizes, but what had Saturis most frightened, was the number of Encodeds each of them were hauling around.
"Oh God." Nuisance said once he saw this sight too, which made him go cold.
