Geum Jan-di: As I reflect on my childhood, I am reminded of the idyllic small city where I grew up with my parents and two younger brothers. My father worked as a government employee, while my mother was a skilled chef. The city was tight-knit, and I was familiar with everyone, which made for a delightful and carefree upbringing.
One of my fondest memories was delivering freshly baked bread to our neighbours on my bicycle every morning. The crisp morning air and the thrill of cycling down the street brought me immense joy. As a local, I was well-known in the community, and everyone had watched me grow up, including my childhood best friend, Ji-hoon.
However, life had other plans. My father's job required him to relocate to a larger city. As I embark on this new chapter, I am filled with a mix of emotions. While I am excited to explore new experiences and opportunities, I also hope to find a sense of belonging and happiness in our new home. My name is Geum Jan-di.
Two weeks later
They had just finished unpacking in their new home, a spacious three-bedroom apartment in a sprawling compound. The property was one of the perks of her dad's job, offering a comfortable and secure living environment;
Mrs. Geum:
Geum Jan-di: umma, do you think we'll like it here?
Mrs. Geum: If you're talking about your new school, you won't like it, you will love it. What's there, not love?
Geum Jan-di: Have you checked out your store? I've not seen it.
Mrs. Geum: Of course, it's just a few blocks from here, I'll take you there
Geum Joon-woo: Mom, we'll come too
Mrs. Geum: No, you'll have to stay home to unbox the parcel
Geum Joon-woo: umma
After much talk, they all arranged their new house and painted the interior and exterior wall, then they had dinner and went to sleep, the rooms were a little bit more spacious than their former house. The next day, Geum Jan-di woke up feeling refreshed. She stretched her body, then took her bath, after which she went downstairs
Geum Jan-di: umma, what are you making?
Mrs. Geum: I'm making tteokoboki
Geum Joon-woo: (eating) it's really tasty
Geum Jan-di: umma, I'm going out with my bicycle to check the new area
Mrs. Geum: OK, watch out, be back on time, I still need to show you the shop
Geum Jan-di: OK (she then went outside, took her bicycle from the garage and started riding down the street) [this city is so beautiful but I miss my former one, I'll get the hang of it]
Lee Da-hee: (licking stick sweet) You should have brought the money we asked of you
Kim Ha-neul: (crying) I'm sorry, I couldn't think of a good excuse to tell my dad, I promise I'll get a bigger amount tomorrow
Yoon Seo-yoon: Maybe after I give you a beating (she then raised her hands to hit her, but Geum Jan-di held it)
Geum Jan-di: Are you girls playing or a you training to become a hoodlum
Lee Da-hee: Who's this bit-
Geum Jan-di: sush! I hate a lot of things, but there's one thing I hate the most; and that is when Junior insults their seniors
Yoon Seo-yoon:
Geum Jan-di: I'll ask again. Are you guys bullying her?
Lee Da-hee: we were just playing (puts her hands around Kim Ha-neul shoulder), right?
Geum Jan-di: (pulls Kim Ha-neul out) Are you alright?
Kim Ha-neul: (nods nervously) No (breathes heavily)
Geum Jan-di: so you were bullying her (notices the scars on her face) you did that didn't you, so this city is full of negativity, this would never happen in where I came from (she the punch the two of them) if you ever bully anyone in this place again, I'll deal with you, you're just too young, too young to constitute nuisance in the society, if the young behave like this then how will our future be (drags Kim Ha-neul to her bicycle). You know, you shouldn't let them bully you. First, let's dress up your wounds
Kim Ha-neul: I didn't bring cash with me, I left it at home
Geum Jan-di: [even if this is from my savings, I'll use it]
Kim Ha-neul: Gamsahamnida, I don't know how to thank you enough. What is your name?
Geum Jan-di: Jan-di, you know you really should stand up to them next time, but if they bully you, tell me, I live not too far from here, where do you live?
Kim Ha-neul: Not too far either, I haven't seen you around
Geum Jan-di: Well, that's because I moved in recently
Kim Ha-neul: Really?
Geum Jan-di: Really
Kim Ha-neul: Bye Jan-di sundae
Geum Jan-di: Bye (rides away)
Kim Ha-neul:
Kim Tae-hyun: (opens the gate) Who was that?
Kim Ha-neul: My hero
Kim Tae-hyun: hero?
Kim Ha-neul: Yes (looks at him)
Mrs. Geum Pov
Mrs. Geum: (watching TV) Where has this girl gone again?
Geum Joon-woo: Maybe she's causing trouble, umma, isn't that Jan-di's new school advertisement on TV?
Mrs. Geum: o my, it is
Geum Jan-di: (walks in) umma, I'm hungry
Mrs. Geum: You came at the right moment. Look at your school

Geum Ji-min: woah, Jan-di's school is big, umma, I want to go there too
Mrs. Geum: Our account won't be able to cover that, I need her to have at least a good record so when she grows up, a rich man will marry her
Geum Jan-di: umma, I'm not even at the age yet, I hate crowded places, I prefer to be home schooled than to go out (goes to her room)
Mrs. Geum: I only want the best for you
Few days later, Geum Jan-di got ready as soon as possible, wore her uniform and rode her bike to school, while paddling to school in a hurry she mistakenly entered the front of a car but the car stopped right before It hit her
Jan-di: [oh my gosh, I nearly died]
Driver: Young master, it seems to be a student
Eun-woo: I'll handle this (comes down from the car). Hey, are you blind? Can't you watch?
Jan-di: I'm I blind? I should ask you that, can't you see you were driving above the speed limit, when I was cycling, there was no coming vehicle, you nearly killed me, you should be apologising
Eun-woo: apologising?
Jan-di: Well, I don't expect you to because you look like a spoilt brat (notices his uniform. He had a badge "SHA" just like hers)
Eun-woo: I'm glad you know I wasn't going to apologize, well I wonder how an high class school would allow such a low class citizen like you too Learn with us, it needs to be addressed
Geum Jan-di: low class citizen? (Short of words)
Eun-woo: (shelves her aside) You shouldn't bring that trashed cycle to school, driver, let's go, ingrate (gets into the car and drives off)
Geum Jan-di:
