"Alex, why are we heading to that junkyard for no reason?" Jackie asked, puzzled.

He and V had just finished installing their new prosthetics when Alex pulled them along, driving to the junkyard outside the city.

"We're going to save someone. If we delay, it might be too late."

In Alex's mind, the image of Goro Takemura appeared.

Goro Takemura, this earnest and steadfast man, left a deep impression on him.

Even after his third playthrough of the game, he learned he could save this character.

Alex decisively started a new save.

Though Takemura was the most loyal person to Saburo Arasaka, essentially a corporate dog, he was willing to sacrifice his position to avenge Saburo and dared to oppose Yorinobu Arasaka.

He also saved V, and his Bushido spirit was a beacon in these times.

If possible, Alex hoped to sway him from Arasaka.

He left a note for him in room 204.

Knowing Takemura's rigid nature, he'd likely follow the instructions to get what he wanted.

As he headed to the junkyard, the plot should realign.

By then, he'd naturally encounter the assassin Yorinobu sent to eliminate him.

In the game, V, under player control, helped him defeat the assassin.

Now, with only himself, any mishap could spell disaster without assistance.

And it was a perfect chance to test out his new prosthetics.

Thinking of this, Alex, sitting in the back seat with V, smiled to himself.

...

...

"Arasaka-sama, I've found a way to contact your father's murderer."

"Yes, he left a note for me, suggesting a meeting at the junkyard outside the city."

"I'm here now, and I'll attempt to bring him back."

"I'll be there in an hour."

Goro Takemura hung up the call with Yorinobu Arasaka and continued waiting for Alex at the junkyard.

He was deeply troubled by Saburo Arasaka's death.

As a professional, he knew.

Saburo didn't die from poisoning as Yorinobu claimed, but from trauma!

And the reason he wanted to track down the "murderer" was to muster the courage to face the truth!

...

"Hmph, a loyal dog clinging to his dead master, ready to bark at the new one."

Yorinobu Arasaka, after ending the call, had a cold glint in his eyes.

Then he opened communication again...

"The junkyard outside the city, take out Takemura for me."

"Yes, right now."

The blue light in his eyes dimmed, and fear flickered across Yorinobu's face.

"How did Alex Carter get found by Takemura so easily? Could it be he left clues on purpose?"

"What is that guy planning..."

...

...

"Vroom..."

"Bang, bang!"

"Ratatat..."

The roaring engines and gunfire echoed down the highway outside Night City.

Goro Takemura was driving a convertible sports car without a windshield, under attack from several cyber mercenaries on motorcycles.

As he waited at the junkyard, these mercenaries ambushed him.

In desperation, he could only drive away.

However, they seemed well-prepared, putting him in a precarious situation.

"Damn, who is it!"

Takemura slammed the accelerator, thoughts racing.

Was it the mysterious note-leaver, or was it Yorinobu Arasaka?

"Vroom!"

Another engine roared.

A cyber mercenary on a motorcycle pulled alongside the sports car, his submachine gun aimed at Takemura...

"Bang!!!"

With a sudden crash, a police jeep smashed into the mercenary, scattering him.

Then, with a smooth drift, it tailed Takemura's sports car.

It was Alex, driving the jeep he commandeered earlier!

This sight made Takemura's heart skip a beat.

Could this be another pursuer?

As he was momentarily distracted, an agile figure leaped onto his sports car from a motorcycle.

"Shink!"

A sharp mantis blade extended, aiming for Takemura's vital points.

Fortunately, Takemura reacted swiftly, turning the steering wheel to deflect the attack.

But the mercenary with the mantis blade remained on the car, poised to strike again!

"Jackie, hold the car steady; I'll handle the mercenary."

Alex instructed, opening the door and climbing onto the jeep's roof.

Seeing the scene unfold, he was relieved to have arrived in time.

A moment later, and Takemura might not have made it.

"Huh... Since I can still use game skills and items, let's hope this works."

Alex took a deep breath, standing on the car roof, focusing on the mercenary in the distance on Takemura's car, and assumed a defensive stance with "Kue."

The next second, he launched himself forward!

Kerenzikov, activate!
