Chapter 6 - 6

"If you don't speak, I'll take it as your agreement."

Alex Carter raised his glass towards Yorinobu Arasaka: "Then, shall we toast to our successful cooperation?"

"Hmph."

Yorinobu ignored Alex. He felt extremely uncomfortable with the sensation of being completely seen through and even manipulated.

"I advise you to leave here alive and then consider cooperation. I can't help you with this, otherwise, it will look suspicious."

"You don't have to worry about that," Alex grinned.

"Wait for me to grab something first. When I come back, you can set off the alarm as usual."

With that, Alex drank the champagne in one gulp, got up, and walked towards the upstairs tarmac.

As an experienced player, he knew very well that in the hovercar on the tarmac, there was a legendary sword named "Kue" belonging to Saburo Arasaka.

Since he was already there, how could he resist taking that "gem"?

It just so happened he could also use the guards upstairs to test the abilities of the black light virus.

With this in mind, Alex took out the black light virus from his inventory and chose to use it.

"Gulp..."

In the next instant, the black-red reagent in the test tube poured into Alex's pores.

Black-red tendrils began to emerge from Alex's body.

However, the strangeness only lasted for a moment before completely subsiding.

"Without contagiousness, the virus is still in its most rudimentary stage, and that's okay."

Alex nodded with satisfaction.

Not being contagious was a relief. After all, he didn't want Night City to become a zombie city.

Although the current virus could only give him the ability to assimilate, regenerate, and enhance physically, that was enough.

After moving his strengthened body, Alex quietly walked upstairs.

On the tarmac, there were two guards armed to the teeth.

Saburo Arasaka, whom they were meant to protect, had already died downstairs.

Following the assassination route in the game, Alex slowly approached one of them from behind.

Then...

"Crack... gulp."

Before the guard could react, his entire body was penetrated by black and red tendrils and merged into Alex's body in the blink of an eye.

Immediately, a flood of jumbled memories and a sense of satisfaction filled his mind.

Alex took a deep breath and activated the black light virus again.

In the next second, his figure, clothes, and even physical features rapidly changed, transforming into the guard he had just absorbed.

The next part was much simpler.

Alex, now disguised as the guard, walked up to the hovercar and picked up the "Kue" resting on the seat.

"Hey, Mike, what are you doing?" Another guard suddenly called out.

Alex explained calmly, "Master Saburo forgot his sword. I'm taking it to him."

"Alright, hurry back."

Without a hint of suspicion, the other guard continued his watch.

"Ding, acquired legendary melee weapon [Kue]."

The delightful system prompt made Alex's heart skip a beat.

While returning to his original form, he checked the newly acquired attributes:

**Legendary Sword: Kue**

Details: Saburo Arasaka's saber, forged by a legendary swordsmith. Although the material is slightly weaker, its sharpness is unmatched, with a greater chance of causing six times the wound tear.

No damage stats, no DPS.

This wasn't quite what Alex had imagined.

But six times the wound tearing should equate to about the same damage as Kue's original six times critical damage.

"Host, this world is a real world, and there are too many factors affecting the specific lethality of weapons, making it impossible to digitize."

The explanation from the system dispelled Alex's doubts entirely.

It made sense. After all, this was a living, breathing Cyberpunk 2077, not a game where damage numbers popped up after each shot.

Having figured this out, Alex once again wore his usual smile.

Seeing Alex walking down the stairs with "Kue," Yorinobu Arasaka frowned.

"That's my father's sword."

Alex nodded: "Yes, I went up for that."

"Hmph, forget it, it's just a sword," Yorinobu said, looking at Alex with displeasure.

"If there's no movement in the house for too long, Goro Takemura will get suspicious."

Alex nodded, and his next move made Yorinobu, V, and Jackie, who were behind the TV wall, widen their eyes.

He placed the sword lightly against Yorinobu's neck: "A little robbery on the side, for our startup capital."

Yorinobu's eye twitched as he said, "Can you just ask directly?"

"Sorry, I'm just worried that you might refuse; I wanted to formalize it a bit." Alex touched his nose awkwardly.

"...you don't have a prosthetic body?"

Yorinobu suddenly looked at Alex in surprise.

Because when he tried to transfer money, he couldn't find Alex's signal.

"A bit of a rush, haven't installed it yet. Jackie!" Alex called to the two hiding in the TV cabinet for help.

Soon, Jackie emerged.

Looking at the indignant Yorinobu, he couldn't help but sigh: "Dios (God), we're actually robbing Yorinobu Arasaka; that's incredible!"

Yorinobu's fist clenched tightly.

Resisting the urge to punch Jackie's big face, he transferred the money.

"Wow, the money's in, one... 10 million dollars???"

Jackie was stunned when he saw the transfer notification.

He swore he'd never seen so much money in his life!

"Can you all go now?" Yorinobu asked through gritted teeth.

Alex retracted the sword with a smile and nodded, "Of course, is it convenient to open the balcony door?"

"Hmph..."

Yorinobu snorted coldly with a dark expression.

As the blue light flashed in his pupils, the balcony door that originally required T-BUG to open activated automatically.

"Alright, wishing you a delightful life!"

Alex smiled, gestured towards V and Jackie in the TV cabinet, and left the suite first.

Breathing in the fresh air outside, V and Jackie's frantically beating hearts finally eased a lot.

"Hey, now's not the time to relax; we've got a tough battle ahead," Alex reminded.

The next second, the entire building suddenly rang with an alarm!
