Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: The Full Might of Arlong

The battlefield was a storm of chaos—clashing blades, flying bodies, and the sounds of war echoing through the air. The Straw Hats had already begun carving their way through Arlong's subordinates, but the real battle had yet to begin.

Luffy stood firm, his eyes locked onto Arlong, a smirk playing on his lips. "I want all of you to watch carefully," he said, his voice carrying over the battlefield. "This is the strength of the man who tormented Nami all these years. Watch as he struggles, as he fights, and as I show him what happens when you mess with my crew."

Arlong's razor-sharp teeth gleamed in the sunlight as he laughed. "You think you can challenge me, human? You're nothing but a bug under my foot!"

Luffy clenched his fists and took a step forward. "Then come and prove it."

Arlong's muscles tensed, and in a flash, he shot forward, his massive jaw wide open, aiming to sink his fangs into Luffy's flesh. But just as he was about to strike, Luffy vanished. A blur of movement later, Luffy appeared behind Arlong, standing casually with his hands in his pockets.

The fish-man blinked in confusion. "What—?!"

"I told you," Luffy said, turning his head slightly. "I'm not like the humans you've crushed before."

With that, he flicked his leg up, bringing his heel crashing into Arlong's back with a force that sent the fish-man skidding across the battlefield, tearing through debris. The villagers gasped, their eyes widening as they witnessed Arlong being overpowered for the first time.

Zoro, Sanji, and the rest of the crew stood on the sidelines, watching intently.

"Is he… toying with him?" Usopp asked, mouth agape.

"No," Zoro replied, his arms crossed. "He's teaching us a lesson."

Luffy turned back to his crew, his eyes serious. "If you want to survive in the Grand Line, you have to get stronger. Haki, Marine Six Styles—at minimum, you need to learn them. Strength alone won't be enough against the monsters we'll face."

Sanji exhaled a plume of smoke, nodding. "So this is your way of showing us what kind of threats are waiting for us."

Zoro gripped his sword tightly, watching Luffy dodge Arlong's furious attacks with effortless precision. "Fine by me. I'm gonna learn whatever it takes to cut through anyone who stands in our way."

Nami wiped her tears, watching as Luffy continued his dance of destruction against Arlong. He was doing this for her—for her home, her family, her freedom.

"Luffy…" she whispered, gripping her orange tattooed arm.

Arlong, now seething with rage, let out an ear-piercing roar. "I am superior to you in every way! Strength, speed, endurance—you can't defeat me!"

Luffy smirked. "Oh yeah? Then why are you the one panting?"

Arlong's eyes widened. He hadn't realized it, but he was exhausted. He had been throwing everything at Luffy, and yet the rubber man hadn't even broken a sweat.

Luffy cracked his knuckles. "Time to end this."

He vanished again, appearing right in front of Arlong before launching a devastating blow straight into his gut. The force sent the fish-man hurtling backward, smashing through the walls of Arlong Park. The entire fortress shook, cracks forming along the structure as it began to collapse.

With one final punch, Luffy brought the entire building crumbling down.

The villagers gasped. The Straw Hats grinned. Nami fell to her knees, eyes wide in disbelief.

"It's over," Luffy declared, standing amidst the rubble. "Arlong's reign is done."

The people of Cocoyasi Village erupted into cheers, celebrating the long-awaited fall of their oppressor.

Luffy turned back to his crew. "Rest up. We've got a lot of training to do before we set sail again."

As the sun set over the ruined fortress, the legend of the Straw Hat Pirates grew stronger.

And their journey had only just begun.
