Chapter 9 - True beast A HUMAN

Renji set Yui down gently, making sure she was steady before letting go. Her legs wobbled for a moment, but she regained her balance quickly, her eyes meeting his in silent gratitude. She didn't say anything—no words were needed. Her expression said it all.

Renji gave her a small nod, a gesture that meant both acknowledgment and dismissal. She would be fine now. The act 2.1 has begun.

Yui opened her mouth as if to say something, but hesitated. Renji noticed the pause and quickly turned away, a faint edge to his demeanor. There was no need for words now.

"This is Present Mic! The exam has officially ended! If anyone is injured or in need of assistance, please report to the teachers at the gate!" In the background can be heard

Renji barely flinched at the announcement. It was routine.

As he started walking, he was quickly surrounded by students, each one thanking him for his help. "You were amazing!" one of them exclaimed. Renji smiled, his voice calm and steady. "No need to thank me. I just did what needed to be done."

One of them, a girl with short brown hair, beamed a smile at him. "Thank you so much! I thought I was done for!"

Renji recognized her face—she was the one who had been cornered by the robot. "No need to thank me," he replied, his tone neutral. "Just did what had to be done."

Another student, a tall boy with a nervous expression, stepped forward. "I couldn't move fast enough... but you—" He stopped himself, unsure of what to say.

Renji gave him a small, dismissive wave. "It's all about keeping your wits. Nothing more."

The group crowded around him, some offering thanks, others just looking relieved. He nodded to each one, recognizing them for the brief moments he'd saved them. He didn't need to engage further. His job was done.

"Just stay sharp, and you'll be fine," Renji added before turning toward the gate.

The students, still in awe, stood watching him as he walked away, but Renji didn't let himself be distracted. He had already moved on.

Renji gave the group one last glance, acknowledging their gratitude with a small nod, before turning toward the gate. As he walked, his thoughts shifted.

'Okay, the plot is about to begin,' he thought, his lips curling into a faint smirk. ' And my favorite project is about to start.'

An eerie silence settled over him, the kind that only came before something significant. The air seemed to thicken, the weight of anticipation pressing down. He could feel it—a shift in the atmosphere. Everything had been a warm-up, but now, the real test was about to unfold.

'And I will be the adminstrator who watch other make test'

Then, deep within him, a subtle, almost imperceptible sensation stirred—like the faint scraping of shackles, bound and dragging against something inside. It wasn't a physical sound, nor was it one he could consciously hear. But it was there, a quiet, metaphorical presence—a sensation of something held back, straining, waiting to break free.

Schakel~

He can't hear it

----Time skip

Renji walked toward U.A. High, air pods in his ears, the faint sound of Idea 22 playing in the background. His posture was relaxed, hands in his pockets, moving with an easy confidence. The world around him faded into a blur as the music filled his mind, setting the perfect rhythm for the moment.

~Be mine~

"What a day... I couldn't find any sleep, but I still managed to wake up so soon."

He glanced at his watch—7:30 AM. School wouldn't start until 8:30. He had an hour to spare, yet his body had adjusted, as if exhaustion wasn't an option.

The lyrics drifted through his mind, carrying a weight he couldn't quite place. A song about breaking free, about pushing forward even when something unseen tried to hold you back.

His thoughts drifted back to the exam. '138 points.' He had expected a high score, but even he was impressed. '59 from robots, 79 from rescue points. Not bad.'

He hadn't just played the game—he had perfected it. Efficiency in combat, heroism in action. He knew what they wanted to see, and he made sure they saw it.

'Yeah... That should get their attention.'

With a quiet chuckle, he muttered, "Guess I'm just built different."

The gates of U.A. loomed ahead, and with them, the next phase of his story. The day was just beginning.
