Harriet stood up to take a bath because she was feeling sticky all over her body, and she dislikes being dirty. Harriet remembered where the bathroom was, so she went inside to bathe herself and then change her clothes; she struggled with the clothes because she is not used to wearing this type of clothing. Harriet is not sure why they have to put on so many layers of clothing, but she managed to get dressed properly.
Alistair was waiting outside the door when she emerged from the dressing room, and she saw him directly. Even though Harriet had seen this man previously, she was nevertheless taken aback by his attractiveness. She began to feel drawn to him and experienced a wave of good feelings for Alistair as she kept staring into his eyes. "What is wrong with me all of a sudden?". Harriet pondered as she was unable to comprehend the source of all these feelings. Why is she feeling this way now when she didn't feel this way when they first met?
Alistair began approaching Harriet deliberately, each step increasing the intensity of her feelings. "What are you doing to me?" Harriet asked Alistair as she stepped back, overcome with emotion. Harriet came to a halt as she backed into a wall and had nowhere else to go. She turned her head up, cursing in her mind why Alistair had to be so tall.
Alistair stared back at Harriet, and his piercing gaze held hers for a moment, and then he talked, "I should be asking you that question. What are you doing to me? Why am I just feeling this pull now? We've been married for two years, and I've never felt anything like this.".
"I'll be damned," Harriet thought to herself, for his voice is both tempting and deep and beautiful, as if it were caressing her ear. Harriet had always heard about voices that could beguile people, but she assumed it was all myth until she heard Alistair's voice. Harriet's gaze shifted from his eyes to his lips, where that rich voice was emanating from. "God, why are his lips so soft and kissable? I want to kiss him," Harriet realized she'd murmured aloud when Alistair lifted his brow in surprise.
"I… I... I don't mean... I mean, your lips are attractive... But I don't mean..." Harriet began stammering in fright, unsure what to do. She was still attempting to explain to him that this was not what she meant when Alistair's lips met hers. Harriet's eyes went wide in amazement, and she began to go with the flow. The kiss was soft at first when However, Alistair abruptly took a possessive hold on her waist, and his tongue invaded her mouth, sending electrifying shocks through her body. She began finding it difficult to breathe and attempted to struggle, seeing her situation. Alistair decided to let her lips go and began kissing down her neck, caressing her breasts against the layers of her clothing. Harriet's thinking grew cloudy, and she submitted to the strange sensation she was experiencing.
A knock on the door interrupted Alistair's plan to put his hands into Harriet's garment, and he heard his beta say, "Alpha, it's almost time to leave." Alistair released Harriet's neck and scowled, a glimmer of discontent showing in his eyes as he was startled. His eyes were complex as he studied Harriet.
"We'll talk about this when I get back. Take care of yourself till then, and don't do anything stupid this time around, like going outside the kingdom. That wall that surrounds our kingdom was put there for a reason.". After saying this to Harriet, Alistair walked over to the door, opened it, and walked out without turning around.
After he went, Harriet's cloudy thoughts instantly clarified, and she was shocked by what she had done. She was aware that she wouldn't have prevented him from doing anything he wanted to do with her if someone hadn't interrupted them. Harriet asked herself, "What's wrong with me?" since she doesn't feel strange about letting a stranger kiss her and touch her all over; rather, she feels lost because he stopped touching her and went.
This is the first time Harriet has felt this way in her two lives; the first time she lived, she didn't have a boyfriend, let alone kiss someone. She committed her entire life to her research, and when she realized she was forty years old, she began going on blind dates, but the guys she met were either unsuitable or mocked her for being single at her age. When Harriet realizes she has little possibility of falling in love or getting married, she gives up and returns to her research.
So this sense of feeling all hot and bothered is new to her since she has never been in one relationship before in her life. Harriet was still trying to figure out how she felt when her personal maid, Candice, suddenly burst through the door without knocking. Harriet thought to herself, "How low am I to all these people that even my personal maid can do whatever she wants?" However, as this body has changed its host and she was not as foolish as the previous Harriet, everything is going to change.
"Luna, it's almost time..." Candice tried to say something, but Harriet stopped her. "Go back outside, knock on the door, and wait for my permission before you enter," Harriet told Candice. But Candice ignored her statements and told Harriet, "Luna, it's not time for your tantrums; you need to go to the left hall for your lessons." Harriet asked Candice, "Are you sure you don't want to heed my words?" Candice responded by keeping her body still and not moving from where she stood. Harriet said nothing else to Candice and began moving towards the left hall.
