Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: The Heart of the Beast

The air was thick with tension as Seojin and her team moved through the narrow, dimly lit corridors of the Council's stronghold. Every step felt like a countdown, the silence between them hanging like a storm waiting to break.

They had infiltrated deeper than they ever expected, and now—they were in the heart of it.

The deeper they went, the more intense the security became. The walls were lined with cameras, laser sensors, and armed guards. But Seojin, Minji, and Kade had come prepared.

They moved like shadows, never staying in one place too long. Every corner, every door was a potential threat, but they kept their focus sharp.

Finally, they reached a massive reinforced door—the core of the facility. Behind it was what they had come for: the central command of the Council's operations.

Seojin took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "This is it. We break in, disable the system, and take control of the whole damn place."

Kade nodded, his expression hard. "We make sure no one else gets out of here alive."

Minji glanced at them both. "Ready?"

Without waiting for a response, Seojin stepped forward, pressing the button to override the security system. The door hissed open.

Inside was a large, high-tech command room. Multiple screens were flashing with real-time data, the walls lined with high-ranking Council operatives at work.

But as Seojin stepped inside, something felt… off.

There was a coldness in the air. Something felt wrong.

Kade's eyes narrowed. "This doesn't feel right."

Minji's grip on her weapon tightened. "I don't like it."

Suddenly, the screens flashed. A distorted image appeared on one of them. A face.

Seojin's heart skipped as she recognized the man in the image.

It was her father—alive.

She staggered back, shaking her head. "What the hell is this?"

The distorted face on the screen spoke in a chilling, mechanical voice. "I see you've made it this far, Seojin. But you've only just begun to understand."

Seojin's blood ran cold. "This isn't possible. You're dead."

Her father's twisted smile appeared on the screen again. "Not dead. Evolved."

Seojin's world tilted. "What are you talking about?"

Her father laughed, the sound distorted and eerie. "You've been following the wrong path all along. This—" He gestured to the room around them. "—is just the beginning. The true plan has already begun."

Seojin felt a sickening realization in her gut. The Council's operations weren't just about control. It wasn't just about politics or power.

It was about something far darker.

The Dark Truth

Kade stepped forward, his voice tight. "What are you planning?"

The screens blinked, shifting. "We're not just controlling the world anymore, Seojin. We're about to control every mind. The technology is already in place. The compliance program? That was just the first phase. The next phase is complete mental domination."

Minji's eyes widened. "You can't—"

"Oh, but we already have," her father's voice interrupted. "The mass compliance system is already installed. All the world's leaders, the most influential people—they're already under our control."

Seojin's chest tightened. "You're lying."

"No, my dear," her father's distorted voice echoed. "You're the one who's been blind."

The screens flickered again, and images of familiar faces flashed across them—world leaders, military figures, influential activists—all of them under the Council's control.

Seojin staggered back, shaking her head in disbelief. "This is impossible."

Her father's voice softened, almost sympathetic. "It was all necessary, Seojin. The world was never going to evolve on its own. People need control. They need guidance."

"You're destroying them!" Seojin screamed, her hands shaking with rage.

"I'm saving them," her father retorted, his voice chillingly calm. "And you could have been part of it. But now? Now, you're just another obstacle."

Seojin's world seemed to shatter as the weight of her father's words settled in. The Council wasn't just a criminal organization—they were changing the fabric of reality itself. They were controlling minds, twisting reality, and forcing people into submission.

Her fists clenched, her eyes wild with fury. "I'll stop you. I'll tear it all down."

Her father's voice grew cold. "You can't. The system is already in place, Seojin. You're too late."

"Then I'll make sure you never see the light of day again." Seojin aimed her gun at the screen, the same determination she had carried through this entire battle burning inside her.

Her father's distorted face smirked one last time. "You can try, Seojin. But you'll never win."

Before Seojin could pull the trigger, the screens flickered again, and the lights went out.
