Chapter 14 - dragon uprising

Kael stood on the mountain, looking at the enemy commander, Grand Marshal Thrain.

Just as Kael was about to charge into battle, he received a message from Lyra. "Kael, I've taken down Xandria. Be careful, my opponent was stronger than I expected. Don't underestimate yours."

Kael nodded to himself, his eyes locked on Thrain. "Time to get started."

Grand Marshal Thrain sneered at Kael, "So, you've finally decided to show up. You look weak compared to Guimo. So, out of all the formidable opponents, they sent me a child?"

Kael smiled calmly, "Don't be so full of yourself. This child will be the cause of your death. I have waited a long time for this. I will be taking your head with me, Grand Marshal Thrain."

Thrain laughed, "So, you really think you stand a chance against me? I respect your determination, but mere words aren't a display of power. Have you ever heard the word despair? I will fill you with despair until you die, and even after death, you won't be able to escape me."

Both men looked at each other, ready to clash. Kael drew his sword and charged at Thrain, but the Grand Marshal didn't flinch. Instead, he responded with a swift sword slash, cutting off Kael's left hand.

Kael screamed in pain, but immediately used his Curse Sword and said, "Curse Sword, Final Technique: Soul Punisher!" His fighting spirit burned even brighter, and Thrain's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Bring it!" Thrain shouted, and Kael charged at him. A black chain emerged from the sword and wrapped around Thrain, but he broke free easily.

"The game is over. You're not strong enough," Thrain said, stabbing Kael in the stomach. Kael fell to his knees, gripping his wound in agony, as he lay in a pool of blood.

Thrain stood over him, his right arm and leg immobilizing Kael. "You're through," Thrain said, raising his sword.

Kael thought to himself, "Am I going to die? No, it can't end like this."

Suddenly, memories flooded his mind. "Ahh, it's the same old feeling... Joining the Silver Assassins... I was tortured to the point of death... To stop the pain, I cultivated my internal energy to the highest level."

With newfound determination, Kael looked up at Thrain and said, "You think I'm not strong enough? Yes, I'm not, and I hate myself for that. But I will rise above my limits and transcend them!"

With a fierce cry, Kael rolled over and cut off Thrain's right hand. Thrain's eyes widened in shock, "How is this possible? Why aren't you despairing?"

Kael's movements changed, and Thrain sensed an extraordinary aura emanating from him. "You're not strong enough!!" Thrain shouted, raising his sword.

"Void Collapse!" Thrain bellowed, unleashing a dark vortex that swallowed Kael. But Kael replied, "It's futile! You can't defeat me in my current state. It's over."

With a swift motion, Kael used the Northern Palm Technique, Dragon Catching Hand, and fused his internal energy into his sword. He unleashed Speed Bliss, striking Thrain with incredible speed and precision.

Thrain's eyes widened as Kael removed his heart. With a final, triumphant cry, Kael used the Curse Sword and said, "You thought you were strong, but in the end, the mighty will always fall at my feet. I am inevitable."

With one final thrust, Kael stabbed Thrain and evaporated his body, ending the battle.

Just like that, Kael emerged victorious, matching onto the next battlefield. The war was far from over, but Kael's determination and strength would carry him through the darkest of times. The fate of the kingdom hung in the balance, and Kael was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
