Chapter 5 - The Cyborg and the Blood Stingers' King

Cyborg vs. the Blood Stingers' King

"Prepare to be incinerated," the cyborg said, his arm transforming into a weapon. The Blood Stingers' King buzzed sharply, darting away at incredible speed.

"BZZZZ!"

The cyborg's attack blasted through the air, missing by inches. Suddenly, part of his leg and arm was severed, sparks flying as metal clattered to the ground.

"!" The cyborg looked down at his damaged body.

The Blood Stingers' King hovered triumphantly. "Heh, what was that? Your leg next?" The insect Kaijin chuckled before pausing, noticing something. "Huh?!" He looked down at his own body. "Where... where are my legs?!"

The cyborg tossed the severed legs onto the ground, glaring. "Looking for these?"

The Blood Stingers' King, realizing the situation, tried to flee. "Tch, no matter. I'll simply escape and—"

"It's useless," the cyborg said, locking onto his target.

Suddenly, the sky above grew darker. A massive swarm of Blood Stingers appeared, blocking out the light as they surrounded their king in an overwhelming display.

"!" The cyborg looked up in disbelief.

From within the writhing swarm, the king's voice boomed. "You... if I don't act now, I might actually die. I'll summon every Blood Stinger within an 80-kilometer radius!" He raised his claws dramatically. "My children, come forth! Bring me every drop of warm, sticky blood you've gathered!"

The cyborg's sensors detected the incoming surge. "So, the swarm isn't just attacking this city... they've been gathering blood from the surrounding areas too. Blood isn't just food for him—it's fuel. If I don't finish this quickly..." He aimed his arm, energy gathering into a deadly charge.

A voice suddenly echoed.

"COME BACK HERE, YOU LITTLE SHIT!"

"!" The cyborg turned to see where the yell was coming from.

It was Kazuto, chasing after a single Blood Stinger. "I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU, DAMMIT!" he shouted, face red with frustration. The cyborg froze in disbelief.

"What... what's wrong with that guy?" he muttered to himself.

Kazuto stopped in his tracks, noticing the swarm overhead. "Huh...? What's that cloud...? Wait... are those Blood Stingers?!" His face twisted in disgust. "Ugh, gross!"

The cyborg called out to him. "Hey, you! Get somewhere safe! The Blood Stingers are being controlled by someone. If she spots you, you'll definitely get attacked!"

Kazuto blinked. "Seriously?" He glanced up at the swarm, now spreading across the streets. "Well... that sounds bad. Guess I should... RUN FOR MY LIFE—"

Before he could finish, the swarm descended, flooding the area like a living storm. The cyborg unleashed his energy cannon, obliterating everything in its path. The blast tore through the swarm, disintegrating countless Blood Stingers and several city blocks in the process. Smoke and ash filled the air.

The cyborg stood amidst the destruction. "You're intelligent enough to understand human language, so I'll assume you're as smart as a human. But your tactics... they're as primitive as an insect's. Sending your entire swarm at me was like asking to be incinerated in one blow." He scanned the area. "When I arrived, I checked for life signs within 500 meters. There shouldn't have been any casualties..." He paused. "...Oh no! I forgot about—"

Kazuto emerged from the smoke, alive but completely naked.

"Yo, thanks for that!" Kazuto grinned. "You're amazing! How'd you do that?!"

The cyborg stared at him, speechless. ".......!!"

Kazuto continued, unfazed. "Man, your laser thing is way more effective than the bug spirals I've got at home!"

The cyborg's sensors picked up a surge of energy. He spun around.

"HOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!"

"!"

The Blood Stingers' King emerged, transformed. His body was larger, his limbs more muscular, and his exoskeleton gleamed with a crimson hue. "My children have served their purpose. They're useless to me now."

Kazuto blinked. "What's with that weird laugh? Creepy..."

The king continued, "Do you want to know why they no longer matter?!" He vanished in a blur, reappearing behind the cyborg. "It's because I'M THIS STRONG NOW!"

The cyborg barely reacted in time, dodging the attack but losing another arm and part of his torso in the process. Sparks flew as the king's claws slashed through him mercilessly.

"Your movements are sluggish!" The king laughed, striking from multiple angles. "Weak! Fragile! You're nothing but scrap metal! I'll rip your head off next!"

The cyborg gritted his teeth. "His strength and speed keep increasing with every drop of blood he consumes. I underestimated him... I don't have a chance now. There's only one option left." He prepared to detonate his core. "I'll take him with me... I'm sorry, doctor..."

The king raised a claw for the final blow. "GOODBYE, YOU PATHETIC—"

A hand slapped the king's head, crushing it instantly. His body exploded into a shower of blood and chitin.

Kazuto stood there, shaking his hand in disgust. "Ugh, I really hate bugs."

The cyborg, stunned, stared at Kazuto. "........!!"

Kazuto turned to leave but stopped when he heard a voice. "WAIT A MINUTE!"

"Hmm?" Kazuto glanced back.

"I'm a cyborg," the stranger said. "I've been fighting for justice. People call me..." He hesitated. "...Tatsuya. Please, tell me your name!"

Kazuto blinked. "Uh... I'm Kazuto. Why?"

Tatsuya dropped to one knee. "LET ME BE YOUR DISCIPLE!"

Kazuto scratched his head. "Huh? Uh... okay?"

He paused, realizing what had just happened. "...EH?!"
