Chapter 15 - A happy and terrifying reunion

The virus was standing on its 2 small legs. It looked at me. I could see the dark abyss in his eyes grow darker and more terrifying as he recognized me. Then, suddenly he did something I never expected. It opened its mouth wide. It started spinning and out from it came 5 objects that looked like fireballs. They were purple and they were coming right at me. I dodged them all and jumped to the right.

"IT CAN SHOOT FIREBALLS! Why didn't the empress warn me about this", I shouted to myself. Well, it was time for the next phase the long run through all the realms. I was just about to start running and pressing [SHIFT] when this time the virus shot a fireball aimed right at me. I saw it too late and my reflexes made me pull out the only thing I had in defense. My keyboard. I hit the fireball hard with my keyboard. The fireball disappeared and I heard the keyboard crackle. It looked like everything was okay until I took a closer look at the left. The [SHIFT] key was broken. Now, I was doomed.

"First, I must take care of this virus. I summoned a titanium wall with my keyboard and laid it in front of me. It was strong and would hold up for some time. I began thinking. I could use a bike! I quickly typed it in and spawned a bike in front of me. I started the engine. The bicycle wouldn't be very useful to travel through all the realms if the virus is really fast as they say. Then, a thought sprung in my mind. I typed in 'shield'. Just for protection. I sat on the bike and placed the shield on my seat behind me. Then, I started driving for my life.

I looked behind. The virus started running once he realized I was not behind the wall (which had collapsed at this point). Luckily, I had got a head start. It started running to me. It wasn't fast but its big body helped it cover massive distances. The small legs put it at a disadvantage. I drove the cycle as fast as I could. I planned to go to Mozart. I would wake him up and then I would ride on his back and we both would travel back through the realms. Besides, I wasn't really sure of the way to the recycle bin.

I drove for some time until I realized the bike was of no help to travel across such a vast distance. Then, I had an idea. I looked back to make sure the virus wasn't shooting me. It was far behind and I was in the clear. I pulled out my keyboard, typed in 'ULTRA FAST MOTORBIKE', and smashed [ENTER]. A new bike spawned in front of me. It was blue with a cool leather seat and many pipes that seemed like the Nitro Exhaust pipes. I stepped on the bike and turned the key. *Vroom, Vroom*. I had never driven a bike before in my life (except for some arcade games I played before). I knew the basics but I hoped I could balance properly.

"Woohoo!" I screamed as I sped towards Mozart on my new bike. It was quite easy since I already knew how to ride a bicycle. This was way more comfortable and it was much faster. I zoomed past trying my best to keep balance. I glanced down at the speedometer. I was going 2000 mph!! But, so was the fuel. It went down really fast. Just as the fuel hit rock bottom, I reached Mozart's room. I made the bike slow down to a stop and I stepped out. I glanced at the gate in front of me. It was only a few hours since I was last here. With a sigh, I busted the door open and walked inside. Mozart was there on the large king-size bed, taking a long sleep. I tried pushing him to wake up. Then, I started screaming. "That's it", I thought. I pulled out the keyboard and typed in 'Loudspeaker playing loud noise'. A huge loudspeaker spawned in the room playing loud music. I clicked the [ENTER] button again. Nothing happened. I clicked it several times more. I looked down at my keyboard. A new monitor had just popped out of a secret compartment in the keyboard. It said, '[ENTER] key has been disabled as it has reached its limit of 23 tries'.

"WHAT! The empress had never told me about this", I screamed in panic, pacing around the room. But, at least one good thing had happened. I looked at Mozart who was now sitting up on the bed trying to understand why there was a loudspeaker and a boy holding a golden keyboard in his hands. I shut the speaker off by pressing a button I saw on it. This time Mozart got a closer look and realized it was me.

"What? Where are we? Did you see the empress? What is that keyboard? Why is there a bike outside? Why-where…", Mozart said in confusion. It took some time to explain everything that had happened, to him. How much time it took I didn't realize until I stepped out with Mozart. There it was. The nightmare of a virus was back as dark as ever. Its mouth (thankfully) was closed but its eyes were burning with anger. I was about to tell Mozart who it was but it didn't look like I needed to.

"This is the virus! I've seen it before. It was marching through the realms towards the Firewall once when I was in Techno Town long back!", he screamed in shock.

"Then, what are we waiting for?", I asked him.

He stood on all fours and I climbed up on top of him. Just as we rode off, I could see its terrifying mouth open and the destructive projectiles flying out of it. But, luckily we were out of there in no time. Mozart was a great runner and seemed to have no trouble running with me on his back.

"Trust me. I had a lot of practice with that blue globe in my logo. You're nothing compared to him", he explained.

We traveled through the realms. It was slow but with me, on Mozart's back, we were moving much faster than before. After what seemed like 2 hours, we reached the Microsoft Mine's Northern Gate Entrance.

"Are you ready to go in?", I asked Mozart.

"Hold that thought. I'm hungry", Mozart said, with his stomach grumbling.

Of course, how could I forget? Mozart had probably stayed for hours and hours without any food. We sat down on the bricked path nearby and ate some food. I was grateful to myself for bringing the food in the bag because the keyboard didn't work now. We ate a lot and then we stood up and prepared to run in. We planned to run in fast and get out immediately before Mr. Word and his employees had the chance to react. I sat on Mozart's back and we both prepared ourselves to enter. I looked back and saw the most horrifying sight. The virus was… rolling towards us! This entire time I wondered how the empress could call the virus fast but now I saw its true speed. It was so fast it covered a few kilometers in one second. It was far away but it was coming fast. I guess Mozart noticed it too because he started running immediately. We went through the emergency gates system. They were all open now. I didn't see a sign of Doc anywhere. I wonder what they did to him.

We went on and finally reached the interior of the mines. No one was there. We went further in. Suddenly, we saw employees. They hadn't noticed us yet. So we ran faster through the mines. But just as we were about to escape their office, Mozart tripped on something and we both crashed down. It was Mr. Word. He looked like he knew we were coming from the start. All the employees started rushing to us. But in the blink of an eye, the door closed and only us and Mr. Word were standing in the room alone.

Then, suddenly a figure came out of a door nearby and grabbed Mr. Word by the collar. It was Doc! He looked bruised and hurt and I really felt bad for how he was risking his life again to save us. We immediately recovered and ran forward. Doc managed to knock out Mr. Word and started running to the exit with us. But, suddenly the last thing I wanted to see popped out of nowhere. It was the virus. It had just demolished the door and was headed right for us. Mozart ran faster and we made it out. I could see the entire building now being consumed by the virus. We ran faster but we were too slow. We were really dead. Until Doc from behind threw a jewel onto the virus. It did nothing but it made the virus furious. It turned around and quickly rushed towards Doc. We didn't stick around to see what happened and accepted Doc's final sacrifice. I was close to tears but we had to move on. The empress would surely find a way to restore everything to normal after the mission was accomplished.

We traveled further and further. Mozart was getting tired. Doc seemed to have really given us a head start because there was no sign of the virus. We went on for a few hours until we finally reached Hardware Hills, our worst nightmare. We didn't know which way to go. We were so scared of the Python. We had no choice but to move through the mountains. We rushed as fast as we could not even waiting for a breath. Suddenly, a loud rumble shook the ground. I didn't know which it was – the virus or the Python. Looks like it was the virus and I could see its round dark body rolling towards us. We ran faster but it was too long. There were almost 200 hills more and Mozart was getting more tired by the minute. Suddenly, as the virus was just a few hills behind us, another rumble shook the ground. It was the Python. But, something was different. I looked closer and saw that its dark scales had transformed into a light green.

I squinted my eyes and looked closer. There were two people on top, waving furiously at us. It was Charlie and Charlotte! They were completely fine, except for some cuts and bruises. The Python slammed the virus. It also looked like it was commanded by Charlie! It bent down towards us and Charlie beckoned us to climb up. He looked very cheerful compared to the serious and sorrowful Charlie I had seen last time. Charlotte was sitting there too, confused at who we were. We climbed on.

"Hey, Charlie! Looks like you found Charlotte after all! How are you commanding the Python", Mozart asked.

"Well, once we were being pulled through the Python's chambers we found a control panel on its back that we could use to control it. It was under control of the virus just like before but now I'm able to control it! And what happened to Doc?", Charlie said.

We decided not to talk about that topic and warned Charlie about the virus that had just woken up again. His face turned serious as he steered the virus further through the hills. We were going at a lightning-fast pace but the virus was just as fast. It rolled through the hills, without a hint of pain due to the spiky pieces of hardware. We saw the final hill and we could see Techno Town ahead of us. But, the virus was just behind us. Charlie made the Python bend down at the entrance and dropped us down onto the grassy land outside the Hardware Hills. We stood up and looked up at what had become of the Python. Charlie was fighting the Virus! But, the virus was too strong. Slowly, it tore off the tail of the Python and then the next part. We didn't stick around to find out. We hoped for the best for Charlie and I sat on Mozart's back as he took off.
