Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: I Want to Divorce Your Dad!

Fu Zhenteng released him and took Xu Yansang's hand to leave.

Zhou Muchuan rubbed his painful wrist and looked at the backs of the two, clenching his teeth so hard that he drew blood.

He had never felt so humiliated in his life!

Qin Sisi held his hand sympathetically, saying with some dissatisfaction, "Sister Yansang is really too much, how could she lay her hands on you?"

Zhou Muchuan's gaze was deep, and he remained silent.

In the entire North City, no one dared provoke the Zhou family.

Xu Yansang, this time, you brought it upon yourself!

Meanwhile, outside the villa area, Xu Yansang subtly pulled her hand away from his, feeling a bit guilty as she said, "Actually, it's okay if I apologize to them, it's nothing serious. But now that you're involved, the Zhou family won't let this go easily."

Fu Zhenteng subconsciously clenched his empty hand and smiled, "It's fine. I have a friend who is a lawyer. He's very good and can win the case."

Xu Yansang sighed lightly. The world of the rich wasn't that simple. The Zhou Group employed a whole team of legal experts, each a master in handling lawsuits. How could an ordinary lawyer stand a chance against them?

But at this point, there was no use in saying anything more. Besides, he had helped her after all.

Xu Yansang turned to Fu Zhenteng and asked, "You haven't had lunch yet, right? Let me treat you, what do you want to eat?"

Fu Zhenteng replied, "Just something light, you'll have to go to work later."

Xu Yansang nodded. They went in, and she ordered a plate of fried rice noodles.

This shop was small, with only a few tables, and the décor was simple. Fu Zhenteng, with his noble demeanor, made the small shop feel much brighter.

He got up and took a glass of water, placing it in front of Xu Yansang. "Drink some water."

Xu Yansang thanked him. She hadn't had any water all morning, and after standing under the sun for two hours, her lips were cracked and dry. She picked up the glass and drank small sips.

For a moment, there was silence between them, the atmosphere slightly awkward. Fu Zhenteng ate his fried rice noodles with elegance, as if he were dining at a fine restaurant.

Xu Yansang's gaze unintentionally fell on the watch on his wrist.

She remembered that Zhou Muchuan also had one just like it—a limited edition from a luxury brand. It was hard to find, and Zhou Muchuan had paid extra and used connections to get it.

It cost several million, clearly not something a small sales clerk could afford.

"Your watch..." she hesitated to speak.

"I borrowed it from a friend, the suit too," Fu Zhenteng answered naturally. "You know, in our line of work, sometimes you need some external items to make an impression."

Xu Yansang's doubts disappeared instantly. Sales were different from other industries. To enter a circle, you needed a stepping stone.

Fu Zhenteng had finished eating. He gently wiped his mouth with a napkin and placed his hands on the table, casually asking, "How did you meet Zhou Muchuan?"

Xu Yansang paused and remained silent.

Fu Zhenteng looked at her. "Don't want to talk about it?"

"No," Xu Yansang shook her head, her eyes filled with painful relief. She explained, "Three years ago, my parents were in a car accident. My mom died on the spot, and my dad was injured, his spine shattered and his legs paralyzed. The driver ran away. It was when I was at my most desperate that I met him. He helped me find the driver and got the best experts for my dad, saving his legs."

Fu Zhenteng's eyes darkened. "No wonder a marriage left you broken. He took advantage of the situation."

Xu Yansang was stunned. She gave a bitter smile and lowered her head. "I'm not someone who can't accept losing, but..."

But Zhou Muchuan meant more to her than just love. Meeting him two years ago was a redemption, a sense of peace, a light in the darkness.

Nothing is eternal. When someone comes, someone leaves. But the most painful part is when the person you let your guard down with shoots the most powerful blow. It's not fatal, but it leaves a shadow, a lesson that hurts whenever you touch the wound.

Xu Yansang's voice choked, and she couldn't continue.

Because she had her head down, she missed the complicated emotions flashing across the man's eyes opposite her.

Fu Zhenteng handed her a tissue, his voice deep, seemingly with a hidden meaning, "Some people think you're not good enough, while others think you're perfect. Don't waste yourself on people who aren't worth it."

Xu Yansang nodded vigorously, holding back her sobs as she ate the rest of her meal, tears welling up in her eyes.

Fu Zhenteng looked at her steadily. "Maybe there's something better ahead."

Xu Yansang smiled through her tears, curling the corners of her mouth. "It doesn't matter if there is or not. But thank you for your kind words."

After lunch, Xu Yansang was about to say goodbye to Fu Zhenteng, but he said, "I'm taking a cab back to the company, it's on the way. Want a ride?"

Xu Yansang was a bit taken aback but didn't refuse. "Then I'll send you the fare later."

Fu Zhenteng didn't respond.

When they arrived at the company, she got out of the car and transferred thirty yuan to Fu Zhenteng via WeChat.

Two seconds later, it was refunded.

"No need."

Perhaps afraid that she would feel guilty, Fu Zhenteng sent another message, "Helping neighbors is what we should do."

Xu Yansang silently remembered this favor in her heart.

In the afternoon, there was more training. After work, Xu Yansang was packing up to leave when she suddenly received a call from Xia Yanfang. The tone was a bit sharp. "Yansang, come back. Your dad and I have something to discuss with you!"

Xu Yansang had already known that Xia Yanfang wouldn't easily let go of the divorce issue, so she decided to go back today and settle things.

"Okay, I'm coming now."

Her father lived in a welfare house provided by his former workplace. The people who played mahjong downstairs greeted Xu Yansang warmly. "Yansang, back to see your dad?"

Xu Yansang smiled. "Yes, just came to check on him."

She went upstairs, and the women exchanged glances. Their expressions spoke volumes.

Before, when Xu Yansang married into a wealthy family, she was like a golden phoenix flying out of a chicken coop. Who wouldn't envy the old Xu family for having such a daughter?

But today, Xia Yanfang returned, cursing, and everyone knew that Xu Yansang had been kicked out of the wealthy family. They began to speculate that she must have done something wrong. Otherwise, how could they have rejected her?

Look at her, she didn't look like someone who would settle down. No wonder she was thrown out.

The old Xu family had lost face because of this daughter.

The women twisted their faces as they spread rumors, gaining a sense of satisfaction from it.

Xu Yansang didn't know about the gossip behind her back. When she got upstairs and entered the house, she saw that Xia Yanfang had packed two suitcases. Looking at her with a grim expression, she said, "You came back just in time. I'm going to divorce your dad!"

Xu Daqiao sat in a wheelchair, looking dejected.

Xu Yansang hadn't expected such a scene upon returning. She paused for a few seconds before softly asking, "Is it because of my divorce?"
