Chapter 42 - Bitch

It's not that fast to install air conditioner in the dormitory. We need to test the machine and inflate it.

Ryan, along with his two roommates, took Yana to one of the best restaurants near the school.

"4 coke, 4 plate MO: MO, Roasted Chicken, One Yanez banes"

Yana picked up the menu, hesitated briefly, and then added, "Ryan just recovered from an illness, is it okay to eat this. Let's order something nutritious."

Jason quietly nudged Ryan, "Third brother, I've only got about 200 dollars left."

Weston discreetly sent a message: "I've got 100 left... but I can charge 1,200 on my credit card. Let's ask the boss how much he has so we can pool our money and send it to you later."

They knew Ryan had just maxed out his credit card buying an iPhone 15, so his pockets must be empty.

Under normal circumstances, they would never willingly foot the bill, but seeing their brother being doted on by the campus queen—and recalling how Yana had just put Tina in her place—they felt it was worth it.

After all, she had installed air conditioning in their dorm and topped up their electricity card with 2,000 dollars, so a return gesture felt justified.

When Ryan was still in shock, Jason had already transferred 230 dollars to him and sent a message saying there was still a 2,000 dollars limit on an online loan. He promised to withdraw the amount later and transfer it over.

Ryan was a poor student, and while his roommates' family situations weren't much better, they were ready to go all out for this and joked about delivering takeout together to cover it later.

Ryan felt a bit moved. He refunded the transfer and then smiled warmly, saying, "No need!"

Just as the two of them looked confused, Ryan turned to Yana with a pitiful expression and said, "Yana, I don't have much money, so I won't be able to cover this meal."

Yana, holding an iced Coke, looked at the three of them and paused for a moment. Then, with a charming smile, she said, "This meal is on me. I just met your brothers, and since I picked the place, of course, I'll treat."

"Haha, then we won't hold back," Ryan said smugly, looking rather pleased with himself.

Weston and Jason were stunned. This guy is shameless beyond belief!

Yana gave Ryan a flirtatious glance, her expression as if she completely understood his intentions.

She knew Ryan needed to maintain a low profile at school, so of course, she wouldn't expose him. A meal costing just a few hundreds was nothing—she would play along with his act.

Meanwhile, in the dormitory, Tina was torn. Lyla said, "Tina, Kaiden is asking you out again."

"Don't bring him up! I'm so annoyed!!"

Tina's face was full of irritation.

Just thinking about how her iPhone 15 and the 2 latest LV bag, worth 68,000 dollars, had ended up in Yana's hands made her furious.

What made it worse was that Yana's was carrying a limited-edition bag worth 48,000 dollars today, which dealt her an even bigger blow.

"Oh my gosh, the sun must've risen in the west—Weston actually posted something on his Add to Day. He hasn't posted anything all year!"

"What did he post?"

Hearing that it was Ryan's roommate, Tina immediately sat up and grabbed her phone.

Tina nearly exploded upon seeing the post. The title read: "Thanks to the goddess for her loving care. Thanks to my roommate, even a wild boar gets to taste delicious food."

The accompanying nine-grid photo showcased exquisite dishes, all taken beautifully. Among them, the large Yanez Banes stood out the most.

Lyla, known for her dramatic reactions, let out a loud exclamation, prompting the rest of the dorm to check their phones. A flurry of comments followed:

"Wow, is this for real? That broke guy's circle actually managed to eat a feast?"

"This looks like the environment of the restaurant outside our college. The average cost per person there must be at least a few hundred, if not over a thousand."

"And they said a goddess treated them? Which goddess is that generous? Charity shouldn't involve treating these broke guys to fine dining."

"That Yanez Banes is 488. This one's so big, it must be close to 2,000."

Someone immediately teased Tina, "Tina, it looks like your little simp's roommate hooked up with a rich lady. Maybe we can all enjoy the perks too."

The person then grinned at Tina and said, "Tina, your little simp is there too. None of us have had lunch yet—why don't you ask him to pack some food for us?"

Tina forced an awkward smile. "How could he afford that?"

"Come on, didn't you say you trained him well? If he doesn't have money, he'd definitely borrow it to make you happy."

Knowing the situation well, Lyla decided not to let Tina back down for the sake of her pride. She immediately tugged at her and urged, "Tina, why overthink it? Just tell him to send us food—he'd definitely do it."

"This, I…"

Tina hesitated for a moment before mustering her courage and dialing Ryan's number. Thankfully, he answered this time.

"Classmate Tina, what's up?"

Hearing him address her formally as "Classmate Tina" made Tina's heart ache. Tina was the nickname her dormmates used for her.

Ryan used to call her that too, but she had forbidden him from doing so. Now, hearing the distant and formal title felt particularly ironic.

"Ryan, are you and your dormmates at A restaurant right now?" Tina asked calmly.

"Yes, we're here having lunch. It's too noisy in the dorm with the air conditioning installation, so we decided to step out," Ryan replied.

"Oh, I see. The second canteen doesn't have much food left, and no one in our dorm has eaten yet," Tina lied effortlessly, holding on to her pride. She added, "Could you pack some food for us? I'll pay you back later."

"Sure, no problem. But it might take a while—we're still eating," Ryan responded.

"It's fine, we're not that hungry yet!" Tina replied breezily.

Her words sounded nice, but deep down, her pride stung. She wouldn't have spoken up herself if it weren't for Lyla and the other "strategists" in the dorm planting the idea.

Whether it was food, drinks, or daily necessities, they had taken advantage of Ryan countless times. No matter how much he bought or spent, they never gave him a penny in return. To them, squeezing the "lapdog" for everything he had seemed entirely justified.
