Chapter 47 - ch-47

**Gongmen Stadium Champion Seat**—

"This Treecko has a great personality, a lone warrior who will definitely keep moving forward," remarked Dodo as he recognized Ash's Treecko.

"In terms of personality, it's even better than Charmander," added Steven Stone.

When Ash's Charmander first appeared, it was childish, cute, gentle, and far from irritable or warlike. It wasn't until it evolved into Charmeleon and later Charizard that it began to show the fiery and battle-hardened personality typical of a Fire-type Pokémon.

But Treecko was different...

It displayed a domineering and cool personality from the very beginning.

Treecko sought revenge.

Treecko overcame difficulties.

Clearly, this was the hallmark of a Region's Trump Card Pokémon.

Steven Stone and Cynthia were both optimistic about Treecko's future potential.

How far could it go?

Could it possibly defeat a legendary Pokémon like Articuno or Regice?

Hmm...

Something seemed off about that thought.

When Charizard defeated Articuno, it felt like an extraordinary feat—one that seemed nearly impossible.

But after that success, it was as though a switch had been flipped...

Pikachu had already defeated a legendary Pokémon to prove itself.

Would Sceptile follow suit, defeating a legendary Pokémon to cement its value as a Region's Trump Card?

If so, that would be thrilling.

**Legendary Pokémon... All destined to fall before Ash's Region Trump Card Pokémon!**

**The Scene Continues—**

[After the adventure at the Petalburg Gym, the group finally arrived in Rustboro City.]

[Treecko faced Roxanne's Geodude in battle.]

[Since Treecko had yet to learn any Grass-type moves, it could only rely on Normal-type attacks.]

[Although Treecko used its agility and enhanced the power of Pound by utilizing its fall, it still couldn't deal significant damage to Geodude.]

[Eventually, Treecko was overpowered, losing its ability to fight after enduring consecutive Mega Punch attacks from Geodude.]

[The battle was unfortunate—if only Treecko had mastered Grass-type moves.]

[Pikachu had to step in and take down two opponents in a reverse-type matchup, cementing its reputation as a master of overcoming disadvantageous battles.]

[Later, Treecko faced Hariyama under Ash's command.]

[In the match, Treecko cleverly targeted Hariyama's legs with Pound, preventing it from using Vital Throw effectively.]

[Treecko then used the geyser-powered arena to propel itself upward, unleashing a powerful Pound attack from above and defeating Hariyama.]

Even though Treecko was at an evolutionary disadvantage, defeating Hariyama demonstrated its potential.

**The Journey Continues—**

[During their travels, Ash and his team discovered three watermelons floating down a river. They retrieved the watermelons and began eating together.]

[As Ash enjoyed the watermelon and spat out the seeds, he was reminded of an earlier battle with a Shiftry, whose powerful Bullet Seed had caused significant trouble.]

[Inspired, Ash decided to teach Treecko how to learn Bullet Seed by spitting out watermelon seeds.]

"Treecko, watch this! First, eat the watermelon, then aim and spit the seeds out like this," Ash demonstrated.

[Under Ash's precise guidance, the watermelon seeds hit the target repeatedly.]

[Treecko, however, struggled to grasp the accuracy.]

**Audience Seats at Gongmen Stadium—**

"Hahaha! I can't believe it. The Grass-type Treecko is struggling to learn a Grass-type move!"

"But Ash? He's already mastered it!"

"Oh my gosh, Ash isn't normal. He's teaching Treecko a move it should already know!"

"Next thing you know, he'll teach Venusaur how to use SolarBeam!"

"This just proves Ash isn't human. Have you seen how he survives getting hit by Thunderbolt and Flamethrower every day without breaking a sweat?"

---

**Kalos Region, Sprout Town**—

"So cute!" A chestnut-haired girl giggled as she watched Ash spit out watermelon seeds while teaching Treecko Bullet Seed.

Ash… was truly something special.

---

**Sinnoh Region, Veilstone City**—

Watching the watermelon-seed training, Shinji couldn't hide his frustration.

"I absolutely can't lose to such an idiot!"

Recalling how Ash defeated Brandon and dominated the Battle Frontier, Shinji's anger boiled over.

"Damn... why?!"

"How could he beat someone with legendary Pokémon? And make it to the World Championships' Top 8?"

"He's just... a fool!"

Determined, Shinji vowed that when they met in the future, he would not lose to Ash.

---

**The Scene Continues—**

[After countless efforts, Treecko finally learned Bullet Seed.]

[With a new move in its arsenal, Treecko was no longer limited to using Pound and Quick Attack.]

[If it faced Roxanne's Geodude again, it could now easily secure a victory.]

[Later, after winning the Lavaridge Gym Badge, Ash prepared for the Petalburg Gym.]

[However, during their journey, Treecko seemed distant, returning to its aloof demeanor, skipping meals, and staying alone in trees.]

[It was then they encountered a Loudred that had gone out of control.]

[The Loudred's trainer, Guy, arrived later and explained that Loudred had also been acting strangely lately.]

[To ease Loudred's stress, Ash and Guy decided to have a battle. Treecko volunteered to participate.]

[Midway through the battle, something extraordinary happened—both Pokémon evolved.]

Loudred evolved into Exploud.

Treecko evolved into... Grovyle!
