Chapter 2 - ch-2

The 204th Year of the New Pokémon Calendar

The annual World Championship was in full swing.

In the Galar Region, at the majestic Gongmen Stadium, the world's strongest trainers gathered. Even Professor Oak, the legendary "master" of Pokémon academia, attended this world-renowned event to witness history in the making.

The top eight trainers, determined by regular season points, earned the prestigious title of the "Eight Masters." These elite trainers competed to determine the ultimate champion, who would be crowned the "Strongest King" and achieve worldwide fame!

"Charizard, Championship Moment—G-Max Wildfire!"

Champion trainer Leon, representing the Galar Alliance, roared the command.

A blazing firebird descended from the sky, bombarding Lance's Dragonite, whose olive-colored scales reflected the fiery glow.

The merciless hellfire painted the heavens red, its flames illuminating the astonished faces of every spectator. When the flames subsided, a resounding thud echoed across the stadium as Lance's Dragonite collapsed.

"The Dragonite is unable to battle. Charizard wins! The victor is Leon from the Galar Region!"

As the referee announced the result, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, creating a wave of excitement.

"So cool! Leon is so strong! As expected, he defended his world championship title again!"

"Lance gave it his all, but he still couldn't beat Leon."

"If Dragonite could Gigantamax, maybe he'd have stood a chance."

"That's impossible. Even a Gigantamaxed Dragonite couldn't defeat Leon's Charizard. His Charizard is the strongest!"

The crowd buzzed with fervor, while the announcer's voice rang out across the stadium:

"Leon has once again proven his dominance and defended his title as the [Strongest King]! Is there a trainer out there who can defeat him? Where are they?"

The spectators roared in agreement.

"No one can defeat Leon! He's the world's mightiest trainer!"

"Leon is unbeatable!"

As brilliant fireworks exploded in the sky, the Palace Gate Stadium was bathed in vibrant colors. Charles Goodshow, the president of the Pokémon League, stepped forward to personally present the championship trophy to Leon.

"Leon is incredible! That's his second consecutive championship. No trainer can rival him!" said Alder, the Unova Region champion, with a hearty laugh.

"The title of the strongest trainer belongs to Leon," agreed Professor Oak with a nod.

"Leon, you truly are the world's number one trainer. I wonder if anyone will ever defeat this powerhouse," remarked Diantha, the Kalos Region champion.

"That seems highly unlikely," added Wallace, the champion of the Hoenn Region, with an elegant smile.

For many champion trainers, defeating Leon and claiming the title of the strongest Pokémon trainer was a dream. But Leon was simply too powerful.

Even Wallace, whose Milotic had a natural advantage over Charizard in terms of type, admitted he wouldn't stand a chance.

"The only ones who might defeat Leon are Lance or Cynthia," Diantha suggested.

Hearing this, Cynthia, the Sinnoh champion, smiled modestly.

"I'd love to beat Leon, but with my current strength, it seems difficult."

Lance, however, was not deterred.

"I won't give up! As Kanto's strongest trainer, I'll ensure Kanto becomes the number one region!"

His serious expression elicited warm smiles from the others. No one doubted Lance's strength, but his Pokémon lineup often drew chuckles.

For someone who prided himself as a Dragon Master, his team seemed to lean heavily toward Flying-types—Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Charizard, Dragonite, Salamence…

"Leon, congratulations on defending your championship title once again," said President Goodshow, handing over the golden championship trophy that symbolized ultimate honor.

"Thank you, Mr. President. I'll continue working hard to uphold the title of the Strongest King," Leon replied with a confident smile.

"You'll need to. But honestly, I believe you'll remain on this throne for the next decade," Goodshow said with certainty.

Leon's dominance was undeniable. Since his debut, he had never tasted defeat in an official match. This was his third consecutive world championship victory.

At such a young age, if he maintained his peak condition, who could possibly defeat him?

The answer seemed to be no one.

As the audience celebrated Leon's victory, an unexpected event occurred.

A massive green screen suddenly appeared in the middle of Gongmen Stadium, drawing the attention of everyone present.

Sinnoh Region

"Huh? What's going on? I've never seen anything like this," murmured Bertha, one of the Sinnoh Elite Four, staring curiously at the enormous screen that had appeared at the Alliance headquarters.

Alola Region

"Professor Kukui, what is that?" Mallow asked, pointing at the massive green screen that had appeared on the school grounds.

Professor Kukui could only stare in confusion.

Kanto Region: Rocket Hideout

"What is this? Some new trick from the Alliance?"

Inside the hideout, Giovanni was in the middle of discussing plans for the Lake of Rage with his executives. The sudden appearance of the green screen left even the seasoned Team Rocket boss stunned.

Kanto Region: Cinnabar Island

"Whoa! Misty, Brock, look at that!!"

Ash, fresh off a victory against Blaine's Charmeleon to earn the Volcano Badge, was packing up at the Pokémon Center when he noticed the enormous screen.

Palace Gate Stadium

"What's going on?"

President Goodshow stared in disbelief at the massive green screen. The spectators exchanged bewildered glances, having never seen anything like it before.

As confusion spread across the Pokémon world, the green screen began to flash brightly, accompanied by a stirring background melody.

The title of the screen read:

"A Brief Discussion on the Historical Status of Pokémon Trainers: The Next Eight Masters."

And with that, the screen came to life, captivating the attention of everyone in the Pokémon world.
