Synopsis

Prologue

'Elliot' is the city's most notorious gangster. Everyone is afraid of him. He starts a real estate business to clean his hands stained with blood from years. After losing his family at the age of 15, his only objective was to take the city under his control. There is no more adventure in his life filled with cruelty, roughness, and loneliness.

'Haven' is a clumsy, temperamental, and happy-go-lucky girl. She works in a building near the building where Elliot works. One day, unexpectedly, she meets Elliot. Whose hobby at the moment is to keep everything neatly?

It is said opposite attracts. Will this happen? What will be the result of their meeting? Will they be able to know each other's secrets at the right time?

Elliot's eyes scanned the crowded streets of Graystone City, his gaze piercing through the throngs of people rushing to and fro. His mind was consumed by a single thought: Haven.

Where was she?

One moment she was standing in front of his office building, her bright smile illuminating the dull gray concrete. The next, she was gone.

Vanished.

Elliot's gut twisted into a knot as he pushed through the crowds, his long strides devouring the distance. He had to find her.

His phone buzzed in his pocket, but he ignored it. He didn't have time for distractions.

As he turned a corner, he spotted a familiar face - Hashmi, his right-hand man. Hashmi's expression was grim, his eyes locked on Elliot's.

"Any sign of her?" Elliot demanded, his voice low and urgent.

Hashmi shook his head. "Nothing, boss. It's like she disappeared into thin air."

Elliot's jaw clenched. This was his fault. He should have protected her better.

He spun around, his eyes scanning the rooftops, the alleys, the streets. Where could she be?

A faint memory stirred in his mind - Haven's laughter, her smile, her sparkling eyes. He had to find her.

With a newfound sense of determination, Elliot set off into the unknown, driven by a single goal: to find Haven and bring her back to him.

As he disappeared into the crowded streets, the city seemed to swallow him whole, leaving behind only a whisper of his presence:

Elliot was coming for Haven.

Elliot's eyes narrowed as Haven grasped his hand, leading him through the crowded streets of Graystone City. "Where are we going?" he asked, his deep voice laced with skepticism.

Haven's smile was infectious, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "You'll see," she teased, her voice barely above a whisper.

As they turned a corner, the sound of laughter and music filled the air. Elliot's gaze lifted, his eyes widening as he took in the vibrant colors and twinkling lights of a fairground.

Haven tugged on his hand, leading him through the entrance. "Come on, Elliot," she urged, her voice filled with excitement. "Let's have some fun!"

Elliot's initial hesitation gave way to curiosity as Haven dragged him from stall to stall, insisting he try his hand at ring toss, balloon darts, and other childish games. She laughed and cheered him on, her joy infectious.

As the night wore on, Elliot found himself relaxing, his usual stoic facade cracking to reveal a glimmer of the man he once was. Haven's antics brought out a side of him he thought was long buried – a side that remembered what it was like to be normal, to be carefree.

As they walked through the crowds, Haven turned to him, her eyes shining with excitement. "Elliot, look!" she exclaimed, tugging him toward a stall selling cotton candy.

Elliot's lips curled into a wry smile as Haven ordered a fluffy pink cloud of cotton candy. She took a bite, her eyes closing in rapture, and Elliot couldn't help but chuckle.

It was a sound he hadn't heard in years – a sound that was both familiar and foreign.

As they walked away from the stall, Haven turned to him, her face serious. "Elliot, I'm glad you're smiling," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You deserve to be happy."

Elliot's gaze locked onto hers, his eyes searching for something – anything – to hold onto. Haven's words struck a chord deep within him, resonating with a longing he thought was long buried.

For a moment, they just stood there, the sounds of the fairground fading into the background as they lost themselves in each other's eyes.

It was a moment of raw vulnerability, a moment that left Elliot feeling exposed and yet, somehow, free.

Elliot's eyes snapped open, his chest heaving as he gasped for air. The darkness of his penthouse apartment seemed to closing in around him, suffocating him.

He threw off the covers and swung his legs over the side of the bed, his feet dangling in the air. The city skyline twinkled outside his window, a cruel reminder of the world he'd built – a world that had been shattered by betrayal.

The memories came flooding back, like a tidal wave crashing against the shores of his mind. The feel of the cold concrete beneath his knees, the sound of his family's screams, the smell of blood and smoke.

Elliot's hands clenched into fists as he relived the torture of that fateful night. The pain, the fear, the helplessness – it all came rushing back, threatening to consume him whole.

He stumbled out of bed and staggered to the bathroom, flipping on the light switch. The bright glare was a slap in the face, forcing him to confront the demons that haunted him.

Elliot's reflection stared back at him, a stranger's face twisted in a snarl. His eyes were sunken, his skin pale, his jaw clenched in a perpetual scowl.

He turned away from the mirror, unable to bear the sight of himself. The shower beckoned, a refuge from the nightmares that plagued him.

As the hot water cascaded down his body, Elliot felt a fleeting sense of calm. But it was short-lived, as the memories came flooding back, like a relentless tide.

He saw his family's faces, their eyes accusing him of failing to protect them. He heard their screams, their pleas for mercy. He felt the weight of his guilt, crushing him beneath its oppressive yoke.

Elliot's body began to shudder, his muscles convulsing in a mixture of rage and despair. He slammed his fists against the shower wall, the sound echoing through the apartment like a cry of anguish.

As the water continued to pour down on him, Elliot felt himself being pulled under, sucked into a vortex of pain and suffering. He was trapped in a living nightmare, with no escape in sight.
