Chapter 2 - Deny

"Come on, Darling! Wake up already, hey~!"

Yuichi Nakamura woke up to being called by a beautiful and cute voice.

Eyes droopy from just waking up, he stared at the girl whispering those words in his ears. She was wearing a school uniform, much like him, and Yuichi could tell who it was just by a glance.

"Are we there already, Darling?"

He asked while rubbing his girlfriend, Kaori Satsuki's fair and soft cheeks, recalling that they were on a plane headed to Paris. It was strange for Kaori, his lovely angel, to wake him up since he had already set himself to wake up when they arrived in Paris.

"Actually... We are somewhere else, Darling!"

"Huh, where is it?" Yuichi asked as he looked out from the plane window and saw trees and ground touching the plane...

"Huh, why's the plane swimming in the ground?"

"Sleeping in such chaos, clueless—only you can do this, Darling!"

Yuichi absentmindedly looked toward the front of the plane, seeking the source of Kaori's excitement.

His field of vision felt distorted.

It wasn't his tired eyes playing tricks on him—the plane's frame had been crushed. Furthermore, something like a black spear pierced through the wall of the plane, impaling a boy from his class.

"Yeah, that's reasonable..."

Yuichi, now understanding the reason behind Kaori's sudden excitement, continued to inspect the plane from his seat.

It was crushed and dented all over the place, and the ceiling and walls were full of holes. On the floor was a collapsed boy, covered in blood. Based on the gaping hole in his chest, he was most likely dead.

Given the emptiness of the plane, the majority of students must have already escaped. Other than Yuichi and Kaori, the only potential survivor seemed to be their impaled classmate, but he didn't look like he'd last much longer.

What impaled him looked like a black spear. However, it was no lifeless weapon; it looked like it was sparking and moving.

With barely noticeable trembling, it stretched and contracted—most likely part of some living creature, but Yuichi wasn't familiar with any animal that possessed such a long and sparking body part.

"Uh, Darling, do you perhaps know what it is?" Yuichi asked, rubbing his chin in confusion.

"No, Darling, I don't have any idea about this thing!"

Kaori seemed to be clueless too.

Yuichi looked out of the window and saw a huge black tentacle clinging to the plane.

"Looks like an octopus. Or, maybe a spider?"

Either way, it was ugly....

Yuichi picked up a water bottle that had rolled to his feet and threw it at the black something. The bottle traveled at tremendous speed and hit the organ with a huge but instantly disappearing clashing aura.

*Grrhhh*

The bottle hit the organ dead-on, and the creature let out an eardrum-bursting scream. The part that had been shoved into the plane quickly retracted, and the impaled boy dropped to the floor. The huge organ hastily took some distance, finally allowing Yuichi to get a good look at it.

"It looks like a... Witherstorm, from Minecraft! Hmmm...."

A black, shadowy body made of twisting tentacles and appendages, with glowing purple eyes, was floating in the air. At the center of its form was a glowing red crystal orb embedded in its body, pulsating with dark power.

The organ from earlier was wriggling near the Witherstorm—it was a tentacle part of its body...

They appeared to have been attacked by a Witherstorm in heat, and as if that wasn't already difficult enough to believe, the scenery outside the window further surprised Yuichi.

A grass plain stretched out before him.

"I'm pretty sure when I last looked out the window it was night though."

Suddenly, the plane started to shake. The Witherstorm was in a rage, now hitting the ground with its tentacles.

In Yuichi's shaky field of vision, he noticed the Witherstorm's darkness leaking from its crystal orb like manifested rage.

"Ah!"

His eyes still on the Witherstorm, Yuichi let out a voice of realization, looked toward Kaori, and said,

"Darling, do you remember something?"

Kaori stared at him cluelessly.

"Huh? No."

"Darling, you remember those tentacle comic books we used to read together, with only the two of us in a room!?" Yuichi said with a smile.

"Huh? Th-that's..." Kaori instantly looked in a different direction, understanding what Yuichi meant...

"Hehehe... Looks like you've got it!" Yuichi said as he teasingly looked toward Kaori.

"D-Darling, this is not the time for it!" Kaori said as she pushed Yuichi, who was closing the gap between them.

And before Yuichi could begin his dap-dap arc, he was interrupted.

*GRArArAAA*

The Witherstorm roared and set its massive tentacles into motion, raising its ridiculously large body into the air. After gaining some height, its tentacles started plunging back down toward them.

Yuichi voiced his thoughts.

"Now it's looking serious."

The inside of the plane was slanted, the aisle was narrow, and on top of that, there were corpses lying around. Escaping it in time seemed impossible.

Well, no helping it.

The plunging tentacle seemed a fitting metaphor for life's fall of the curtain, Yuichi thought. He had never been particularly attached to life—until Kaori entered his life. He was worse than a monster, but Kaori instantly changed him.

"Darling, it's scary!"

Kaori hugged Yuichi from behind in fear. Her huge and voluptuous chest changed shape as it pushed into Yuichi.

For a moment, Yuichi felt his back was traveling in a different dimension.

He might be a bit of an introvert, but Yuichi was still a man. He knew how to treat his woman and how to protect her. He was thinking of giving up and not using that, but seeing his beloved existence in fear, his eyes started to glow a cyan color....

And thus, Yuichi broke a promise about never using 'THAT'....

"Deny."

A serious and cold word broke out from Yuichi's mouth.

He determined his target and released his power.

As he did, the Witherstorm's tentacles stopped moving immediately.

The loss of balance made the Witherstorm's massive body spin and gain momentum as it fell from the sky until it finally crashed into the plain.

*Bump!*

The plane shook from the Witherstorm's collision with the ground.

Yuichi didn't feel much of an impact, though.

"Don't worry, Darling! Anywhere in the universe, no one can harm you when you're with me!" Yuichi said as he patted Kaori's head.

"Darling, see? Everything is okay!"

"…Really?"

Kaori continued to cling to him a little while longer, but after realizing that things had quieted down, she separated from Yuichi.

"Huh? But what just happened, Darling?"

Kaori looked out of the window with a vacant gaze.

But when Kaori turned back toward Yuichi, he was really close to her, basically an inch away from her lips. Yuichi then grabbed her by the hips and...

*Mmhh*

Yuichi gave her a soft kiss on her pink lips and said,

"Darling, I'll explain it to you later, but can you explain what is going on first?"
