KingLanding
Small Council
The sun blazed-on kings landing. Ever since the news of the Targaryen fleet sailing to Westeros reached he's ears, Robert had done his best to get back into shape. He was now as ready as he could ever be to face the Dragonspawn. The silence from the North was deeply concerning to Robert, his friend had sent no ravens in response to his summons, but the Spider reported news of the 20 000 strong Northern army passing the Twins 5days ago.
'What news on the progress of my armies' Robert asked
'I have successfully brought 24 000 sell swords my father charged me with, they have already settled outside the city' Tyrion said, who had his own role, tasked by his father
'What about your brilliant wildfire plan' the king asked with a smile picturing the Dragons dying in the explosion.
'The wildfire has been completely removed from the city and loaded on the ship your grace' Tyrion said
'Good Job Lennister I still cannot believe we've lived atop wildfire all these years'
Who would have thought the Imp would be in my war council and his most useful, Robert thought, he laughed inside disbelieving
'What about my other armies?
'Your brother has successful raised 50 000 men' the Spider spoke
'How did it reach that number' asked Cersie
'Renly conscripted commoners to add to his numbers' Tyrion ask and Varis nodded
'They are 2days away your grace' Varis said, and the king nodded
'What about those cowardly Roses'
'I think its safe to say they sided with the Dragons your grace' Varis said
'What makes you say this' Stannis asked
'They have raised their banners but remain silent and my sources tell me of Roses sailing to Dragonstone' Varis replied
'It's obvious they'd side with the dragons' Tyrion said 'they sided with them before
'Where is their army now' Cersie asked
'The last of my birds reported a host of 80 000 Reach men at Bitterbridge, it seems they have been Marching this way your grace' the spider spoke
'Flowers all' Robert scoff 'Tarly is the only true treat' he said, after all Robert had lost a battle to Lord Tarly during his rebellion.
'Ignore them for now your grace, Lord Tywin has raised 64 000 some were recruited from the commoners if the two armies continue advancing this was a they are, I estimate they will reach kings landing at the same time. Varis said
'What news of the North are we sure of his about which side Neds on' Stannis asked
The letter of declaration by Rhaella had caused anger and disbelief in Robert even now he refused to believe that Rhaegar and Lyanna were married and had a son. He refused to believe that Ned would turn on him. It had cause uncertainty in others.
Questions on where the bastard of Winterfell had disappeared to had been asked, some suspected that he was this king but had no way to prove it after all Jon Snow had Stark colouring and Daemon Targaryen had a Valerien look. The silence by the Starks progressing south at a fast pace did not help their worries. What's worse is that the Tullys were silent stating only That they would wait for the Starks before marching South
'My latest birds report that the Northmen have reached Riverrun and are now Marching South with 24 000 river men raised by the Tullys' Varis said
'Making them 44 000 strong' Tyrion said
'I have received a Raven from both the Starks and the Tullys' Pycelle was too afraid to reveal the betrayal written in these scrolls he was carrying.
'Well, what do they say? What has Ned written' Robert asked Pycelle fiddled and gave the letter to Tyrion
'It's addressed to all the Lords of Westeros'
To the Esteem Lords of Westeros
I Eddard of house Stark do hereby back up the words written by the Targaryen's. Daemon Targaryen is in fact my nephew, my sister Lyanna's true born son with prince Rhaegar.
When the rebellion ended, I went to retrieve my sister at the Tower of Joy. There I found her after giving birth to Deamon, before dying from the childbirth, she told me everything about how she did not love Robert. She spoke of her love for prince Rhaegar, and of how she had run away with him and married him of her own free will.
I also found in that Tower proof of the annulment of Rhaegars marriage to Elia Martel and proof of marriage between my sister Lyanna of house Stark and prince Rhaegar. I took their baby and raised him as my bastard son Jon Snow as you may know him. He took the stark colouring which made it possible to hide him as my son. He can change the colour his hair and eyes through magic which is how he now looks Valerien.
This is the truth and nothing but the truth on my honour I will support my family and thus house Stark renews its fealty to house Targaryen.
Your truly
Eddard of house Stark, Warden of the North
The room was silent now no one dared to speak, the anger, confusion and betrayal written on Robert's face said it all. The rest of them were lost for words a full minute of silence continue until Cersie spoke
'That conniving traitorous bastard' Cercie said
'I don't believe it, even I could not have seen this one coming' Stannis said
'It seems your friend has betrayed you by tricking the entire realm' said Cersie. Robert had remained silent lost for words
'Lord Starks betrayal is the reason we are here; this one dragon is the one who brought dragons back. The one who raised armies. Without him we would not be in danger right now' Tyrion said
The meeting had started off good until the first raven was read, no one wanted to read the second one 'what does the second raven say' Robert asked but he knew that the Riverlands would follow the starks
'The Tully's have also declared for house Targaryen' Tyrion said
'Lyanna did not love me' he said disbelieving 'two of my allies have betrayed me, Ned has betrayed me, this is all his fault, the boy is his doing, I'm going to kill him'.
'What of the Vale' he asked.
'Nothing your grace, they've been quiet and my birds are telling me that no army has assembled' the Spider responded
'Continue with the preparations' the king walked out of the room leaving all of them there, he would drink tonight.
'We are fucked,' said Tyrion. They continued with the planning and the meeting ended. The game of thrones was now in full swing as battle preparations were complete, all that was left was the battles.
