Chapter 2 - Isaac

Isaac pov

As I slowly sat up, my gaze fell upon the luxurious room at Hotel Ramada. The plush carpet, a rich shade of burgundy with intricate golden patterns, felt soft beneath my feet. The elegant furnishings, adorned with delicate carvings of wolves and other mystical creatures, seemed to gleam in the morning light that streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The windows themselves were framed by heavy drapes made of rich velvet, which added to the room's opulent ambiance. My eyes landed on the girl's clothes scattered all over the room - a tangled mess of silk, lace, and satin. A red stiletto lay on its side, its partner nowhere to be found. A black cocktail dress hung precariously from the edge of the bed, its delicate straps snapped. The dress's intricate beading sparkled in the morning light, a testament to its high quality. I rubbed my face, trying to remember the events of the previous night. The memories came flooding back - the club, the music, the drinks, and the girl. Oh, the girl. She was wild, passionate, and uninhibited. Her long, curly brown hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, with hints of auburn that seemed to dance in the light. Her bright green eyes sparkled with mischief as she danced, her eyelids fluttering closed as she let the music consume her. Her skin was a radiant, sun-kissed glow, a testament to her love of the outdoors. We had met at the club, and the chemistry between us was undeniable. One thing led to another, and we ended up here, in this luxurious room.I glanced at the time - 9:05. I was running late for my departure. I quickly got out of bed and began to gather my belongings. My night partner stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open as she took in her surroundings. She stretched, arching her back, and yawned. Her voice was husky and seductive, even in its sleepiness. I took a proper bath, washing off the scent of last night's encounter. The warm water cascaded down my skin, refreshing me. I felt invigorated, ready to take on the day.My Beta, Liam, had always warned me about the importance of maintaining a certain image. As the future alpha of the Ozoic pack, I had to be mindful of my reputation. Having other females' scents on me was not exactly ideal, especially since I was still searching for my destined mate. I made a mental note to be more discreet in the future.I got dressed in my new tuxedo, feeling the smooth fabric against my skin. The black jacket fit perfectly, accentuating my broad shoulders. The white shirt was crisp, complementing my tan skin. I had discarded my old clothes, a habit I had developed over the years. Old habits die hard, after all. I adjusted my cufflinks, making sure they were secure. They were a gift from my father, a symbol of my status as the future alpha. As I walked out of the hotel room, I couldn't help but think about the girl. She was something else, and I couldn't deny the attraction I felt towards her. But I had to push those thoughts aside. I had a duty to fulfill, and I couldn't let my personal desires get in the way.I made my way downstairs, where Liam was waiting for me. He was leaning against the car, his eyes fixed on his phone as he responded to a message. His heterochromatic eyes - one blue, one green - seemed to gleam in the morning light. His dark hair was perfectly styled, not a single strand out of place. He was a skilled warrior, and his rugged good looks only added to his intimidation factor."Ready to go, Alpha?" he asked, looking up at me.I nodded, and we set off towards the Pearlwood pack. The journey was long, but I was looking forward to seeing my old friend Oscar Shine, the alpha of the Pearlwood pack. He had recently found his mate, and I was eager to meet her.As we drove, Liam and I chatted about various things - the pack, our business ventures, and our personal lives. Liam was a good friend, and I valued his opinion. He was also a skilled warrior and a loyal Beta. We talked about our plans for the future, our strategies for expanding the pack's business interests. We discussed our personal lives, our relationships and romantic entanglements. It was a comfortable, easy conversation, one that I had grown accustomed to over the years.

After a few hours of driving, we finally arrived at the Pearlwood pack's border. The path was lined with triangular tiles, creating an illusion of different dimensions. The Wisteria trees formed a tunnel effect, their branches intertwining above us. It was a beautiful sight, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe.As we reached the entrance, the guard checked our invitation card. Liam asked about the extra security measures, and the guard informed us that there had been a threat made against the Luna ceremony.I found this fact strange. Who would threaten the Luna ceremony? And why? I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand. We were here to celebrate Oscar's union with his mate, and I wasn't going to let anything ruin the occasion."Let's go," I said to Liam, and we made our way towards the ceremony venue.
