With Liliana's presence near his town hall, it became easy for Caleb to keep an eye on her. Still, CL_Ellise probably wouldn't stop until Liliana was killed.
He and Player Great_Dao were probably searching the entire continent for Liliana's town hall.
Caleb turned his head, clearly seeing that Liliana had already started building an Infantry Camp in her place.
Since she had already done research on Leather Equipment technology, then when the building was built, she didn't need to do any more research.
She had a total of 12 Militia units, three of which died when Liliana tried to annex Caleb's town hall. But the loss of Liliana's three units was made up for by the new town hall she could occupy.
The name of the town hall remained the same and did not change, as the system had detected Liliana's kingdom name.
She would continue to use that name until she had a ticket to change her kingdom's name and the ticket was not easy to find.
The situation was getting more conducive. Caleb could focus on his work again, and so did Liliana. Player Great_Dao or CL_Ellise didn't bother Caleb anymore, probably because Caleb had already said he wouldn't interfere.
About Liliana's presence near his town hall, they would probably be suspicious of Caleb. Still, they wouldn't know the truth about Liliana being allowed to occupy the town hall.
[DING! Construction is complete]
[Building:]
[Archery Camp Level 1]
[Cavalry Camp Level 1]
Three hours passed, Caleb's population increased and two building constructions were completed.
The position of the two buildings seemed to be parallel to the Infantry Camp, only the Cavalry Camp was ready to produce scouts.
He pressed the Archery Camp building icon, seeing that no units could be created —everything was still locked.
There was only one technology available to research, and it was the First Bowman.
With his characteristics as an archer, Caleb no longer needed to place his militia inside the town hall —it could be replaced by the bowman.
[Archery Camp]
[Durability: 500/500]
[Level: 1]
[Units:]
[Technology:]
[First Bowman] [350 wood || 200 food || 200 gold || 100 stone] [6 hours]
Caleb realized it, just like the technology research he was researching at Infantry Camp —First Swordsman.
He pressed the technology research menu until it brought up a pop-up panel in response to Caleb's command.
[Technology Research]
[Technology Type: Military]
[Building: Archery Camp]
[Technology Name: First Bowman]
[Cost: 350 wood || 200 food || 200 gold || 100 stone]
[First Bowman Unlocked]
[Research Time:]
[00:05:59:59]
His resources were immediately reduced to adjust the cost needed to research the First Bowman.
Caleb didn't really mind it, considering the amount of resources he had was large and abundant, that amount didn't really burden his resources.
"Caleb!" someone called.
Caleb turned around when he was still outside his town hall. He gasped when he glanced to the side, a casual-looking 19-year-old girl was standing some distance away from the town hall center.
"Liliana?" asked Caleb, startled.
He stepped away from the front area of the town hall to the west, next to the Cavalry Camp building. When Caleb arrived there, Liliana hugged Caleb's body for the second time, the woman crying again.
"I want to get out of this game. I'm fed up with all the dangers lurking around me," Liliana whispered, surprising Caleb.
"I feel like all the players except you are targeting my life. What exactly is my fault? Why do they want to destroy me so badly?" asked Liliana, sobbing.
'There would be no smoke if there was no fire. There must be another reason why Liliana is always targeted by players, especially CL_Ellise,' Caleb explained.
'Liliana probably won't say anything to me. That's probably her secret that she doesn't want others to know.'
'This is really confusing. How do I deal with this?' Caleb asked.
Caleb let go of Liliana's embrace and started wiping the tears from the woman's eyes. She was really crying, her eyes were puffy, her face was red, and her nose was runny.
No imposter could show such a detailed expression, unless they were a talented actress.
Even so, Caleb had to remain cautious. To him, all these people were still strangers even though Caleb had been with them in this game for days.
And as for Liliana, maybe she was planning something that Caleb didn't know about. Caleb had to be wary of her, especially since the two were quite close these days.
"Listen, Liliana. I don't know what your problem is with them. However, you have to solve your own problems with your own abilities. I won't be there for you until you build an Alliance Center!" Caleb explained.
"But the Alliance Center is only unlocked at town hall level 4, while I'm still level 3," Liliana explained.
"That's why you have to work extra to reach that level. If we're allied, then I can help you more, whether it's troops or resources," Caleb replied.
Liliana was silent for a moment, her head bowed as her hand occasionally wiped away her tears. She thought for a while in silence, her mind dwelling on many things.
"Actually... the problem between me and CL_Ellise started when he texted me," Liliana explained.
Caleb squinted his eyes, curious about what the girl before him was saying. He stepped a little further away from Liliana, leaving her confused.
"What do you mean?"
"CL_Ellise and I aren't friends. Previously, we met once when I went to his town hall, it was about your favor," Liliana explained.
The woman was seen opening the history of her player's inbox. She raised her head and looked straight at Caleb while still opening a message from her inbox.
"He kept messaging me. At first I was happy that he noticed me, who wouldn't be happy to be noticed by the game's best player. Right?"
"But over time, his messages bothered me enough to scare me. There was one message that frightened me so much, I rejected it firmly," Liliana explained.
She dared to show Caleb the message that CL_Ellise had sent. Caleb slowly walked over and read the content of CL_Ellise's message to Liliana.
[Sender: CL_Ellise]
[Kingdom Name: _Apo_King]
[I'm the best player in this game. I can guarantee your safety. However, I am selective in choosing trusted friends]
[Come to the forest between our two town halls naked. Don't worry, your villagers and troops won't notice you]
[Shake your hips for me, satisfy me tonight. With that, I can consider you as my most trusted friend]
Caleb clenched his hands into fists with both eyes sharpening, his forehead frowning and his body heating up with anger.
Aside from the fact that he offered such vulgar things to Liliana in exchange for loyalty, he dared to do that with Caleb's proud username during the tournament.
"He's a fucking perverted bastard!" Caleb snapped.
"At first, I want to take care of this with my abilities. However, CL_Ellise is a sneaky guy. He has more skill and experience than me," Liliana explained.
"That's why I didn't tell you at first. I was afraid that you would act recklessly and attack CL_Ellise unprepared."
Caleb took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. He patted Liliana's shoulder lightly to calm the girl down, as it seemed that the beginning of their troubles was started by CL_Ellise's wicked lust.
"Don't worry. My preparations are complete. I can destroy him easily."
"But before doing that, I don't want to leave the men behind," Caleb explained.
"What do you mean?" asked Liliana.
"First, I have to destroy Great_Dao's player."
