Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: All Attributes Exceed 200! A New Treasure Chest!

"First time seeing someone so enthusiastic about carrying corpses," many of the burial soldiers sighed as they watched Zhao Feng's determined back.

For Zhao Feng, the "corpse-carrying mission" was full of motivation.

Returning to the battlefield, his fellow logistics soldiers couldn't help but joke about how he was born for this role.

Zhao Feng only smiled without responding.

"You all have no idea that I can get stronger by carrying corpses. Laugh all you want—I'll just keep quiet!"

Although Zhao Feng wasn't part of the Qin army's direct conquests, serving in the logistics division wasn't entirely without danger. Enemy soldiers pretending to be dead or surprise attacks could mean certain death.

Now that he had such an extraordinary way to grow stronger, Zhao Feng was determined to seize this opportunity and ensure his survival. As the saying goes: "Train hard in times of peace, bleed less in times of war."

This mindset drove him to push his attributes higher, as it was his lifeline. Zhao Feng wasn't aiming for military glory—he just wanted to stay alive, serve his two years in the army, and return home.

What could a reborn soul do?

He wasn't royalty or from some noble family. Did he think he could change the world? The Qin military merit system might be fair, but it's still built on risking your life.

Suddenly, a notification appeared on his attribute panel:

"Touched a Han army captain's corpse. Gained 5 points in strength, 5 points in speed, 5 points in constitution, 5 points in spirit, and 5 extra days of lifespan."

"First time collecting attributes from an officer. Granted a Tier-1 Treasure Chest."

Zhao Feng's eyes lit up with joy.

"Didn't expect officers to yield stronger attributes... and even treasure chests!"

"This must be a jackpot!"

He quickly gave the order:

"Open the treasure chest!"

"Opened Tier-1 Treasure Chest. Obtained [Protective Inner Armor]."

"A lifesaving treasure! I'll wear it the moment I get back!" Zhao Feng thought excitedly.

This discovery fueled Zhao Feng's enthusiasm even more. He began scanning the battlefield, looking for more Han officers' corpses. Officers offered better rewards.

As Zhao Feng was loading corpses onto the ox cart while keeping an eye out for officers, a commotion erupted nearby.

A group of logistics soldiers, led by Wei Quan, the centurion in charge, had approached a pile of bodies to start clearing them.

Suddenly, a pair of eyes within the pile snapped open. A Han soldier, tightly gripping his sword, sprang up and struck without hesitation.

With a sharp scream, his blade pierced through the chest of an unarmored logistics soldier.

The Han soldier kicked the body off his blade and turned his sights on the other stunned soldiers, charging at them with ferocious speed.

Chaos broke out as the soldiers scrambled in panic.

"Enemy! Draw your swords and kill him!" Wei Quan bellowed, recovering from the shock.

The logistics soldiers, though primarily tasked with non-combat roles, quickly formed ranks. They were keenly aware that killing an enemy was also an opportunity to earn military merit.

"Kill him!" Wei Quan roared, as more than ten soldiers encircled the enemy.

Zhao Feng, who had been watching from a distance, noted the commotion.

"This guy hid among the dead for three days, evading three clean-up sweeps? He's got some real patience," Zhao Feng mused.

He observed the fight unfolding and decided not to rush in. With over ten soldiers surrounding the Han soldier, Zhao Feng was confident they could handle it.

However, everyone underestimated the enemy's ferocity.

The Han soldier swiftly assessed the situation and locked eyes on Wei Quan, the centurion commanding the group.

Bursting forward, he slashed through another soldier blocking his way, and kicked aside another, creating an opening to charge directly at Wei Quan.

Wei Quan raised his sword to block the attack, but the Han soldier's strength and technique were unmatched. After a swift parry, the enemy delivered a heavy kick, sending Wei Quan sprawling to the ground.

With his eyes filled with murderous intent, the Han soldier raised his blade high, preparing to strike down the fallen Wei Quan.

Zhao Feng frowned at the sight.

"This guy isn't an ordinary soldier—he's too skilled. If I don't step in, Wei Quan won't survive."

Gripping the sword in his hand, Zhao Feng assumed a throwing stance. With precision and force, he hurled the blade at the Han soldier.

The sword cut through the air with a sharp whistle

As the Han soldier was about to deliver the killing blow, the thrown sword struck his chest, piercing through his body.

Blood spurted from the wound as the Han soldier stumbled, his sword falling from his grip. He stared at the blade protruding from his chest in disbelief before collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

Wei Quan gasped, realizing he had narrowly escaped death.

"Killed a Han Army Major. Gained 20 points in strength, 20 points in speed, 20 points in constitution, 20 points in spirit, and 20 extra days of lifespan."

"All attributes now exceed 200. Granted a Tier-1 Treasure Chest."

Zhao Feng's eyes widened with astonishment.

"No wonder this guy was so tough—he was a Han Army Major!"

"And I can gain attributes not just by touching corpses, but also by killing enemies? This is incredible!"

"All my attributes are now over 200!"

Zhao Feng was ecstatic.

Meanwhile, Wei Quan, having recovered, stood up and inspected the Han soldier's body. Reaching into the soldier's belongings, he retrieved a military plaque.

"Centurion, are you okay?" one of the logistics soldiers asked anxiously.

"This guy was too ruthless. We lost two brothers because of him."

"He wasn't just some soldier," Wei Quan said grimly, examining the plaque with a serious expression.

Raising his voice, he addressed the group:

"Who threw that sword just now?"
