Chapter 1 - The new Reign

Prince Damien stood in his chamber. Across from him stood his brother, Edwin, looking confused and hurt.

"Damien, why?" Edwin's voice shook as he spoke. "We're brothers. We don't have to do this." Damien's face was cold and eager. His hand rested on the dagger hidden behind his back. He took a step closer, his eyes filled with determination.

"You were never meant to rule, Edwin" Damien said calmly, his voice low but firm. "You are too kind. Too soft. This kingdom needs strength, someone who can make the hard choices" Edwin stepped back, shaking his head. "No. This isn't right. We can find another way. We can work together!"

"Another way?" Damien's voice was sharp now. "You've always been weak, Edwin. That's why you'll never be king. The throne doesn't belong to you." Edwin's breath came faster, his fear showing. "Damien, why are you doing this?"

"Because I have to," Damien said, his tone colder than ever. "Because I'm stronger. And I'll do whatever it takes." Before Edwin could respond, Damien pulled the dagger from behind his back and drove it into his chest. Edwin's eyes went wide with shock. His hands reached for the wound as he stumbled, his strength fading fast.

"Damien..." Edwin whispered, his voice fading. He fell to the ground, still and lifeless. Damien straightened, his face emotionless as he wiped the blood from the blade. "The throne is mine now," he said quietly. The next day, Damien stood in the grand hall. The room was full of nobles, but no one dared to meet his eyes. Everyone knew what had happened, but no one was brave enough to speak of it.

"My brother, Edwin, is dead," Damien said, his voice steady and strong. "He was not fit to rule. This kingdom needs a leader who is willing to do what must be done."

The room stayed silent.

"I am your king now," Damien continued, looking out at them all. "Under my rule, there will be no place for weakness. We will grow stronger, and I will lead us forward." He walked to the throne and sat, his back straight and his expression firm.

"This kingdom belongs to me," Damien said. "Every land, every person, and every life is mine to control. If anyone tries to stand in my way, they will face the same fate as my brother."

No one said a word. No one moved. The weight of his words filled the room. Damien leaned back on the throne, satisfied. His reign had begun, and nothing would stop him now.
