Chereads / I Level Up By Making Cultivators Angry / Chapter 3 - Humiliation Instead of Victory

Chapter 3 - Humiliation Instead of Victory

"You..." Mo Wanqing bit her lower lip, a flush of anger spreading rapidly across her fair cheeks. Liu Yichen could clearly see the fury burning like flames on her face.

Mo Wanqing's heart boiled like water on a stove, her anger churning in her chest. She couldn't understand how Liu Yichen dared to belittle her like this.

She took a deep breath, the air rushing into her nostrils with a faint whoosh. She struggled to suppress her rage, lifting her chin haughtily. "I am Mo Wanqing, the Third Lady of the Mo family, a once-in-a-century cultivation genius of the Star Soul Continent! At sixteen, I broke through to the fifth level of the Profound Spirit Realm! Have you not heard of me?"

Liu Yichen scratched his head in feigned confusion, his fingers rustling through his hair. His eyes wandered aimlessly, though inwardly he was chuckling. This Mo Wanqing is so easy to fool. She's already taken the bait.

He pretended to search his memory, while scenes of being overlooked by his family flashed through his mind. The elders of the Liu family had only ever paid attention to the talented disciples, their gazes sweeping over him like he was nothing more than a pebble on the roadside. No resources, no recognition—he had to rely on himself, working in silence.

He silently vowed to change this situation. And now, Mo Wanqing was his opportunity.

"Mo Wanqing? The Third Lady of the Mo family? Hmm, that name does sound familiar... Ah, I remember now!" He slapped his thigh with a loud smack, his face lighting up with mock realization. "Isn't that the family that sells cosmetics?" He inwardly gloated, eagerly awaiting Mo Wanqing's reaction.

Low snickers rippled through the crowd, like tiny insects buzzing in their ears, faint yet piercing.

The younger members of the Liu family looked at Liu Yichen with disdain. Has the young city lord lost his mind? He doesn't even recognize the Third Lady of the Mo family, yet he dares to mock her like this? He's utterly shameless! He's bringing shame to the Liu family!

Mo Wanqing's face turned from red to pale, then from pale to green. Her chest heaved with anger, and Liu Yichen could almost hear the furious pounding of her heart, as if she were on the verge of exploding.

She felt utterly humiliated. Someone of her noble status, reduced to such mockery!

She had never imagined she would be humiliated like this!

Liu Yichen was clearly playing dumb, deliberately making her lose face!

She silently swore to make him pay, while memories of being adored by others flooded her mind.

Young talents had once surrounded her, their eyes filled with admiration, their mouths spouting endless praises. She had been the center of attention, the pride of everyone who could speak to her. It had been glorious.

But now, in front of Liu Yichen, she was reduced to such a pitiful state.

Liu Yichen, however, ignored the reactions around him, inwardly delighted. He could feel the joy flowing through him.

This Mo Wanqing is such a fool, so easily led by the nose.

The Anger Points on the Mystic Spirit System panel were steadily rising, further solidifying his determination to squeeze more points out of her.

This girl is practically a walking treasure trove of Anger Points!

He plotted how to further provoke Mo Wanqing, his face still wearing that infuriating, carefree smile, completely unburdened.

Mo Wanqing forced down her anger, maintaining her dignified demeanor. "At sixteen, I broke through to the fifth level of the Profound Spirit Realm. Now, I'm at the peak of the seventh level, just one step away from the eighth! In the entire Star Soul Continent, how many of my peers can claim such achievements?" Her tone was filled with pride. She thought, With such accomplishments, Liu Yichen must be in awe of me.

Her gaze swept over the Liu family members, noting the envy in their eyes. Her sense of superiority was further reinforced.

Liu Yichen yawned loudly, his mouth stretching wide, and lazily stretched his arms, his joints cracking softly. He inwardly scoffed at Mo Wanqing's achievements, dismissing them as mere vanity.

"Oh, really? And then what..."

Before Mo Wanqing could finish, Liu Yichen impatiently cut her off. "Alright, alright, I get it. You're amazing, unrivaled, unparalleled. So what? What's your point? If you've got nothing else to say, please leave. I need my afternoon nap." He made as if to turn and leave.

This should rile her up even more, boosting my Anger Points.

Mo Wanqing, who had never been treated with such disrespect, was instantly enraged. Her voice rose sharply, echoing loudly in the silent hall. "Liu Yichen! What is this attitude! I came all the way to the Liu family to..." She was both furious and frustrated, feeling as though Liu Yichen was trampling on her dignity.

"To what? Brag about your so-called extraordinary talent? Sorry, but I'm not interested." Liu Yichen sneered, his lips curling slightly as he interrupted her. "Let me be blunt. Even if you break through to the eighth, ninth, or even higher levels of the Profound Spirit Realm, in my eyes, it's nothing special." He inwardly rejoiced, seeing how thoroughly he had angered her.

Mo Wanqing felt a rush of blood to her head. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails nearly dug into her palms, the sharp pain grounding her.

She was filled with rage. How could Liu Yichen dismiss her achievements so casually?

Suppressing her anger, she spoke through gritted teeth. "I came here to fulfill the marriage agreement! I, Mo Wanqing, am here to marry you, Liu Yichen!" She thought this would surely make him think twice.

Liu Yichen suddenly raised his voice, his tone commanding and authoritative. "Enough! Let me speak!" His sudden shift left Mo Wanqing stunned, momentarily at a loss.

He had a perfect plan in mind, one that would utterly humiliate Mo Wanqing.

The Liu family members exchanged confused glances, unsure what the young city lord was up to.

Liu Yichen looked around, a playful smile on his lips. "Regarding the marriage between me and the Third Lady of the Mo family..." He deliberately paused, watching as Mo Wanqing's face turned pale. He inwardly reveled in her discomfort.

She probably thinks I'm going to agree to this marriage. But how could I possibly give her what she wants?

With a nonchalant smile, Liu Yichen pulled out a scroll from his sleeve and tossed it at Mo Wanqing's feet.

"This is a divorce letter."

The moment the scroll landed at her feet, Mo Wanqing's eyes widened, her pupils contracting sharply. The air seemed to freeze. The Liu family members stared in disbelief, their mouths agape as if they could fit an egg inside. They couldn't believe what they were witnessing, their breaths seemingly caught in their throats.

The pristine scroll unfurled beside Mo Wanqing's embroidered shoes, like a thunderbolt shattering her carefully constructed pride.

Mo Wanqing felt as though she had been struck a heavy blow. Her plans were completely disrupted. She had thought she was in control, but now Liu Yichen was toying with her.

She stared in disbelief, her prepared retorts—"Liu Yichen, you're just a waste! How dare you think you can marry me!" or "I, Mo Wanqing, would never marry someone like you!"—stuck in her throat like a tangled mess, nearly suffocating her.

Her meticulously planned humiliation of Liu Yichen, her scheme to make him a public laughingstock, had backfired spectacularly.

"You... you..." Mo Wanqing pointed at Liu Yichen, her finger trembling, unable to form a complete sentence.

Her face burned as if she had been slapped. The whispers around her felt like needles piercing her ears, leaving her utterly mortified.

Her mind was in chaos, unsure how to handle this situation.

"Why?" Mo Wanqing finally found her voice, though it trembled slightly.

She kept asking herself, Why would Liu Yichen do this? I'm so accomplished. How dare he reject me?

She couldn't understand. Liu Yichen, a waste, how could he possibly reject her?

She, the Third Lady of the Mo family, a once-in-a-century cultivation genius, admired by countless talented youths—and he had the audacity to refuse her!

An indescribable sense of injustice welled up in her, threatening to bring tears to her eyes.

She felt her dignity had been trampled underfoot. The memories of being adored now seemed like a distant dream, and the stark contrast made her humiliation even harder to bear.

Liu Yichen leisurely admired the ever-changing expressions on Mo Wanqing's face, inwardly delighted.

She must be seething with shame and anger. My goal is achieved.

He leaned in slightly, close enough that the breeze from his movement brushed against Mo Wanqing's face. His tone was teasing. "Why? That's a good question." He deliberately drew out the last word, watching as Mo Wanqing instinctively took a step back. His smile deepened.

She's probably terrified I'll say something even more humiliating.

"Could it be that Miss Mo thinks I'm desperate to marry you?"

Mo Wanqing bit her lip so hard it nearly bled.

She was both furious and humiliated. Liu Yichen had gone too far.

Her clenched fists trembled slightly, her nails digging into her palms, the sharp pain helping her maintain the last shred of her composure.

"You..."

Liu Yichen straightened up, a disdainful smile on his lips. His gaze lingered on Mo Wanqing's chest for a moment before he spoke meaningfully. "Mo Wanqing, you've always held yourself in high regard. But in my eyes, your so-called cultivation genius is nothing more than a hollow title. I, Liu Yichen, may seem ordinary now, but I have my own aspirations. I'm not someone who clings to the glory of your Mo family. A marriage agreement like this should never be a tool for you to flaunt your status."

Mo Wanqing was momentarily stunned before she grasped the implication of his words. Her face turned crimson with a mix of shame and anger.

She instinctively glanced down at her chest, both embarrassed and furious. Tears welled up in her eyes.

Since childhood, she had been the pride of the heavens. When had she ever been humiliated like this?

Her face burned as if she had been slapped. The whispers around her buzzed in her ears like sharp needles piercing her heart.

She vowed to herself, I will make Liu Yichen pay.

She bit her lip hard, determined not to let her tears fall.

With trembling hands, she picked up the divorce letter from the ground and hurled it at Liu Yichen.

"You... you're shameless!" Unable to contain her frustration and anger any longer, tears streamed down her face as she choked out these words. Covering her face, she turned and ran.

Her heart was filled with rage and humiliation. She just wanted to escape this place of embarrassment.

The sound of her embroidered shoes tapping rapidly and unevenly on the stone pavement soon faded as she disappeared from sight.

The hall fell into complete silence, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

The Liu family members stood frozen, as if turned to stone.

They couldn't believe it. The once weak and incompetent young city lord had publicly humiliated the Third Lady of the Mo family—and even initiated the divorce!

This was...

Unbelievable!

Liu Yichen watched Mo Wanqing's retreating figure, a triumphant smile playing on his lips.

This is a complete victory. Not only did I gain a lot of Domination Points, but I also made Mo Wanqing look so pathetic.

He opened the Mystic Spirit System panel and saw that the Domination Points were still rising. Clearly, Mo Wanqing's resentment ran deep.

He nodded in satisfaction, already planning his next move to further increase his Domination Points.

"Yichen, you..." An elderly voice broke the silence.

Liu Xingchi slowly stepped forward, his gaze complex as he looked at Liu Yichen, hesitating to speak.
