Chereads / The Heavenly Dao System / Chapter 3 - Still Ye Ming

Chapter 3 - Still Ye Ming

Some might have called Ye Ming arrogant by now or even straight-up dislikable, but the truth remained that he was from the orphanage.

He had no recollections of his parents and grew up with scraps.

And when he attempted to be motivated and go through hell of education in hopes of rising up the social ladder, reality proved him otherwise.

Since then, he had stopped taking life seriously and merely hoped to pass it by.

Thus, to suddenly be informed he got a father in another world that he constantly dreamt of. It was hard to accept it in an instant.

"Listen to my story first." Ye Ming raised his hand and took a time-out.

Time quickly went by, and he finished basically retelling the gist of his life and how he winded up here after sleeping soundly from the pills. It wasn't difficult to retell since he didn't do anything significant and was just an average person through and through.

However, Qing Lan was the most affected as she seemed to be tearing up from sorrow.

"Aish, the Young Master experienced too many things." She pursed her lips and stared at him. "Does the Young Master wish for Qing Lan to eliminate those vermin?"

"Do you even know where those vermin are located?" Ye Ming asked dismissively.

"Based on your description, they are most likely in one of the many lower worlds. As long as I cross reference them, I'm bound to find them." Qing Lan responded confidently. Clearly, the thought of her Young Master experiencing such turbulence and depressed life was enough to incur her killing intent.

"No need, I appreciate your thought, but I'm not petty enough to hold such grudges for that long." He shook his head.

Sure, he would be lying if he wasn't angry, but it had been 5 years already. Not to mention, aside from that one incident, they never crossed paths again.

He was not some vengeful character who would want to eliminate anyone for one incident that wasn't even big.

Amidst their conversation, someone who had been ignored from the very beginning finally raised their voice. "Am I invisible here?"

"No, Master." Qing Lan hurriedly bowed her head.

"Right, you're still here." Contrary to Qing Lan's response, Ye Ming's was more cold and somewhat detached as well. After all, he had no recollection or memories of his supposed father.

Usually, in this typical fashion, he would have received the memories of this past host already. Yet there was none.

Things didn't make sense.

"Also, I must add that I'm not really your son." He decided to come clean and not try to lie and pose as another person. Transmigration was indeed a beautiful dream, but one must think of the other side of view.

What if you were the one who would be replaced by some stranger?

How terrifying and aggrieved would you be?

To let a stranger occupy your body, let them steal whatever relationship you have. That was no different than the disgusting NTR category.

Yup, he said it!

The NTR category was disgusting and those who loved it must have enjoyed the green hat on a daily basis.

"What do you mean you're not my son? Do you think I, Ye Xuan, someone in this high cultivation rank, wouldn't know if my son was truly my son?" His supposed father declared.

Meanwhile, Ye Ming yawned and found him to be a poser. "Did you really have to say your name as Ye Xuan to make a point?"

"UNRULY!" Enraged, Ye Xuan unleashed his aura accidentally.

The pressure emitted from it soon overwhelmed Ye Ming, who felt as if he had been drowned in a strong tsunami, trapped in an earthquake, bitten by the most venomous snake, etc.

All different kinds of painful possible scenarios flashed in his mind. He was forced to gasp for his breath whilst his face turned dark purple.

"Master, please stay your hand!" Qing Lan noticed the danger he was in and quickly tried to counter the aura.

However, the impact was truly pitiful, having only alleviated Ye Ming's condition slightly.

'Damn, this is why being honest would only result in a dead end.' Ye Ming's eyes turned hazy as he quickly lost focus. He plopped to the ground, unable to move a single muscle.

This was the massive difference in strength between them.

As his life seemed to be over, another sudden aura came in the nick of time.

Following the new aura, was a loud voice that pierced through even the sound wavelength. "Ye Xuan, you still dare!"

Simultaneously, Ye Xuan, who had finally regained his composure, realized he had fucked up.

'Damn, I forgot this bastard didn't have any cultivation now.' Ye Xuan swallowed a mouthful of saliva and retracted his tremendous aura. He was indeed named the strongest cultivator, but no matter how strong he was.

There was always one person who would be stronger than him— not physically or literally, but mentally and figuratively.

Actually not, it was all four combined.

A second later, the seemingly domineering Ye Xuan went on his knees. "I was wrong, wife. I didn't mean to harm our son."

Indeed, that strong newcomer was none other than Ye Xuan's wife, or Ye Ming's mother, Ye Qing Lei.

Ye Qing Lei appeared in graceful clothes deemed suitable for the noblest of the nobles in the typical Eastern Fantasy setting.

If one wanted to hear more descriptions of her ethereal beauty and grace, then even a 1000-word count wouldn't be enough. No, not even a 10,000-word count would be enough to fill the description that matched Ye Qing Lei's unparalleled look.

When comparing Ye Qing Lei to Qing Lan, the difference was actually so wide that one would find Qing Lan to be very bland.

"Hmph, you kneel there until I finish checking on my son." Ye Qing Lei snorted and scolded. Despite the scolding and snorting, she still displayed an air of elegance that affected the whole scenery.

Even flowers in the garden that had yet to bloom began to show their beautiful sight, almost as if they wanted to welcome her presence.

While this was happening, Ye Ming finally managed to catch a breath, still feeling like he was just a few seconds away from seeing the 18 levels of hell.

"Argh, if I had known I would suffer as soon as I woke up here, then I would have just resumed my previous life." Ye Ming complained, wondering if he was really a Young Master or an abused Young Master.

It was no wonder the original host slept for eternity. With such a piece of shit father who couldn't even control his strength, who wouldn't want to escape?

At the very least, in his previous solitary life, there was no way to threaten his well-being like this.

"My son, how could you say that?"

"Huh?"

Startled, Ye Ming, who was previously struggling between life and death, naturally ceased to notice the arrival of a new individual. Thus, by the time he heard the voice, he suddenly felt a warm hug, their arms wrapped tightly around them.

Unlike the time when he was drooling over the smoothness of Qing Lan's hand, the feeling he got this time was… motherly.

Yes, it was a mother's tender love for their child, but Ye Ming found it difficult to accept it.

"Sorry, but your son is dead. I'm just a nobody who arrived here after sleeping like a pig from my original world. I can't just steal the original body's relationship." In the end, Ye Ming chose to retreat himself from her.

Having written so many transmigration Eastern fantasy novels, and each time, he carelessly and ruthlessly discarded the original host just to deliver the plot line, he never felt any struggle.

However, now that he was the one in the act, Ye Ming finally understood some of the criticism comments on how the "protagonist" was too much of a bastard.

How could they just seamlessly assume their new identity and position, taking over the original host's relationship as if it were their own in an instant?

Where was their morality?

'I still have some decent morals to not take things for granted and pretend to be someone I'm not.' Ye Ming clenched his fist. He knew this action was beyond foolish. But if anyone were to be in his shoes, experiencing the scene in a first-person perspective, then they would know how he felt at this particular moment.

This was especially true after his adrenaline rush of dreaming to transmigrate had died down. When recalling his previous action and how he seriously tried to assume the position, he wanted to give himself a slap to the face.

"Right, you are probably still confused by the whole ordeal." Ye Qing Lei smiled lightly. She was unbothered by Ye Ming's reaction and instead snapped her fingers.

Soon, a transparent-like spherical orb appeared out of thin air.

"This is your memory and absorbing it would make things easier." She then explained.

Meanwhile, Ye Ming was suspicious of the spherical orb. 'How can I trust her? Will I still be Ye Ming if I follow her suggestion?'

Alas, he couldn't even utter a response when the spherical orb seemed to react intensely to his presence. In the blink of an eye, the orb zoomed ahead and went straight to his mind.

"This—" Dumbfounded, Ye Ming couldn't even react in time to do anything before he was donned upon numerous flashback scenes.
