Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Queen's Reign

The bell rang, announcing the start of another day at Celestia High, the most prestigious private school in the city. Among the chatter of designer shoes clicking against marble floors and the scent of luxury perfumes wafting through the air, there was one name that everyone whispered in awe: Sapphire Chen.

She was, without exaggeration, the epitome of perfection. Her long, silky black hair cascaded like a waterfall down her back. Her almond-shaped eyes glimmered like diamonds, and her smile could bring nations to their knees. But it wasn't just her beauty that made her stand out—it was her aura. Sapphire had a confidence that radiated power, a magnetism that made everyone stop and stare when she entered the room.

She wasn't just a beauty, either. With perfect grades, captaincy of the debate team, and parents who were two of the richest business moguls in the country, Sapphire had it all. Boys worshipped her. Girls envied her.

As Sapphire strolled into the school, flanked by her loyal followers—Lina, her stylish best friend, and Mei, her cousin who was always in awe of her—it felt like time slowed down. Dozens of boys scrambled for her attention.

"Morning, Sapphire!" one called out, handing her a bouquet of roses.

"I saved you a seat in the cafeteria," another stammered, his cheeks red.

"Let me carry your bag," a third offered, already reaching for her designer tote.

Sapphire barely glanced their way. "Thank you," she said with the faintest hint of a smile, knowing full well the chaos even her politeness could cause.

But there was one thing no one knew about Sapphire—something she kept carefully hidden behind her flawless facade. While boys were falling over themselves to win her favor, Sapphire's heart raced for someone entirely different.

The morning unfolded as usual, with Sapphire effortlessly commanding every room she entered. She was answering a question in Advanced Mathematics when the door opened, and in walked the transfer student.

Amara Lee.

If Sapphire was the queen of Celestia High, Amara was the dark knight. With short, tousled hair dyed an ashen silver, piercing green eyes, and a leather jacket that defied the school's dress code, Amara exuded rebellious energy. She didn't just walk into the room—she owned it.

The boys turned their heads, momentarily forgetting Sapphire, but it was the sharp intake of breath from Sapphire herself that no one noticed.

Amara scanned the room, her eyes locking on Sapphire for a split second before moving on, as if dismissing her. It was the first time Sapphire had ever been overlooked, and it set her pulse racing—not with anger, but with intrigue.

"Take a seat, Miss Lee," the teacher instructed, oblivious to the silent war of gazes that had just taken place.

As Amara passed by Sapphire's desk, she smirked. "Nice answer," she murmured, her voice low and teasing.

Sapphire blinked, momentarily thrown off. No one had ever dared to speak to her like that before.

For the first time in her life, Sapphire felt something she couldn't control—a spark.

The days that followed were a whirlwind. Amara didn't just blend into Celestia High—she challenged it. She stood up to teachers, refused to cater to the boys' affections, and, most importantly, didn't bow down to Sapphire.

If Sapphire was the sun, Amara was the moon—mysterious, distant, and captivating in a way that drew Sapphire closer despite herself.

But their growing bond didn't go unnoticed. The boys who worshipped Sapphire grew jealous of Amara. The girls who envied Sapphire found a new target for their hatred.

One day, as Sapphire cornered Amara by the library, she asked, "Why do you keep ignoring me?"

Amara leaned casually against the wall, her smirk ever-present. "I didn't think Celestia High's queen needed validation from someone like me."

Sapphire narrowed her eyes. "You're insufferable."

"And you're irresistible," Amara shot back, her voice soft but firm.

For once, Sapphire was at a loss for words.

To be continued.
