Nobody had seen Roxanne for six months and they missed her dearly so when she informed them that she was coming back and just had a delay in what she was doing to make it worse when they asked about her whereabouts or what she was doing she would just say that she was okay and just had to help a friend whom they all never knew about, which made it weird since most of them knew that she was upto something she never wanted them to know about. The thought that maybe she found a friend out there whom she could spend her time with made them happy since Roxanne was the most anti social among them even though she likes talking non stop about small topics and telling funny jokes. Life was free for her and she was like a butterfly free to go wherever she wanted despite her past she looked happier than most people because she was contented with the little she had and never thought of getting more or going back to her loser like father. When Roxanne arrived at the airport she looked fresh like a person who had been on a vacation for a long time she looked much happier than when she left months ago. Her friends looked at her as they waved happily for them to be seen by her. She took her luggage and went straight to everyone hugging them as they talked about how they missed each other. Leila drove them home as they sat on a sofa waiting for Roxanne to talk about the friend she mentioned during every chat they had over the phones.
They knew her name wew Mary, she was around their age and a good story teller who could dramatize everything and make a place more lively but mostly she was a drama Queen who could not be told to do anything she never wanted, all the friends know is thst she wanted to become sn actress she had a nice voice from when they were introduced to each other over the phone. She was a lovely bundle of joy not easy to find and someone who made things natural and like looking out for people. She was a very easy person to get along with and also easier to communicate to. From what Roxanne said about her being like the sun who brighten a persons life was true, she made people happy effortlessly and she was given love and care. She took Roxanne to a lot of places while they were living in the slums, she made her see the beauty of always staying positive in life and knowing that a person like her will always have your back even in hard times was a good thing which made Roxanne's lips curl up into a smile remembering how she was taught about the delicacies and how they were made.
Roxanne's time in the slums for the past six months was good and even too good to be true, finding a friend to talk to, the children always making the environment peaceful and lively by playing and running around the carefree her returned during that time sometimes adults also played and competed with the children in those childish but fun game, the adults said it was like a form of exercise and also to bring them much more closer to each other as families and neighbors. They were people who liked the joy of life and the freedom they had is what made them what they are through sharing with those without and making sure everyone is looking out for each other in the dangerous place they lived in. Maybe that was their way of showing how happy they were being with each other. Before they went to sleep Roxanne called Maria informing her of her arrival and wishing her a goodnight.
