Arriving at his hotel room, Ronnie collapsed onto the bed. He had chosen one of the most upscale rooms in the hotel. The interior was lavishly decorated, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable.
He glanced sideways at the two large boxes of money. Even now, he could hardly believe it.
Not long ago, he had been at home, rewatching Hunter X Hunter and playing Pokémon games. Who could have imagined that just closing his eyes and opening them again would bring him to this world?
After a little time to understand his situation, Ronnie finally realized he had been transported into the world of Hunter X Hunter.
Logically, it should be a good thing to travel to the world of your favorite anime, but the world of Hunter X Hunter... was a different story.
Having watched the anime, Ronnie knew exactly what kind of world he had entered. It was a dangerous, high-risk world.
In this world, strength is everything.
Monsters, rare beasts, hidden treasures, magic realms, and secret lands—they all sound fascinating, but you could only enjoy them if you had enough strength to survive.
In this world, without strength, you were nothing more than an ant, your life entirely controlled by others.
Take the Phantom Troupe, for example—a Class A criminal organization. They've killed countless people, yet still manage to escape unscathed.
There's no clear distinction between good and evil here—everything is a delicate shade of gray.
No matter your background or your morals, as long as you have enough power, you can live freely.
Consider the Zoldyck family, the world's top assassination family. No one dares to challenge them—why? Because of their overwhelming strength.
At first, Ronnie had been annoyed. Why didn't he travel to the Pokémon world instead? That would have been a far better option.
But now, as he found himself in this dangerous world, unsure of whether his own life could be guaranteed, he had to admit that he'd made an unfortunate choice.
Who knew—maybe one day, a noble would look at him the wrong way and that would be the end of him.
Not to mention the countless strange creatures and disasters lurking everywhere.
Without some kind of power, it was all too easy to die from an unexplained virus or bizarre bacteria.
The only thing Ronnie felt thankful for was that he hadn't ended up in Meteor City, the dangerous slums, but in a small alley in a relatively normal town.
According to fan theories, eight out of ten Hunter X Hunter fanfiction protagonists end up in Meteor City…
After he calmed down, a message suddenly appeared in his consciousness, interrupting his thoughts. He paused and read through it, his eyes widening with realization.
Nen Ability: "Pokémon Master"
1. Obtain: Each time you enter a new area or participate in an event, you may have the opportunity to breed Pokémon. The more famous or unique the location, the higher the chances of breeding a more powerful Pokémon. Participating in the original plot of the world will further increase the probability of obtaining Pokémon.
Each Pokémon is an independent entity. Though they are created from thoughts, they are unique and cannot be reproduced. They will disappear upon death.
Restrictions: Breeding a Pokémon requires time. The time needed is random, with more powerful Pokémon taking longer to breed.
2. Training: Pokémon can gain experience points through battles. When their experience points reach a certain threshold, they will level up. The stronger the enemy, the more experience they provide. Some special Pokémon may have different methods for advancement. If multiple Pokémon fight at once, experience points will be shared equally among them.
Restrictions: Each enemy can only provide experience points once. Fighting the same enemy multiple times will not yield further experience.
3. Illustrated Book: You can access detailed information about anything, including Pokémon. The more mysterious the subject, the less information you will receive.
Since Pokémon exist in different worlds, the effects of their abilities may vary.
Restrictions: Aside from Pokémon, acquiring information about other subjects will consume a small amount of your mental energy.
Ronnie stared at the message, letting the full implications sink in. It became clear to him why he hadn't ended up in the Pokémon world—because Pokémon were waiting for him here.
It wasn't an exaggeration to say that this ability was his "golden finger" as a time traveler.
From what he could understand, as long as he traveled to different places or participated in the original plot of the world, he could have the chance to acquire Pokémon. And unlike traditional methods of awakening an Aura Node, his Nen ability had manifested naturally.
Ronnie speculated that he might be a natural Nen user, like Nyong in the original Hunter X Hunter series.
Turning his head to the side, Ronnie's gaze fell on something unexpected. A figure was standing there, her emerald green hair and ruby-like eyes standing out in the dim light.
There was a red crystal on her chest, and she wore a light white skirt that fluttered gracefully, giving her the air of an elegant noble lady.
It was none other than Gardevoir, the "Super Queen"!
The Illustrated Book activated automatically.
Name: Gardevoir
Features: (Not Viewable)
Properties: (Not Viewable)
Strength: B
Skill: Telepathy (Other skills not viewable)
The Gardevoir in front of him appeared alongside the Nen message. It was like a welcome gift for a newbie, although the message was short and minimal.
The message, with only two lines of information, looked pitifully sparse, which left Ronnie deep in thought.
The strength levels in the Illustrated Book were indicated by letters, though Ronnie didn't have enough experience to fully understand how strong a "B" level was. But it didn't seem like it was particularly high.
What was more important was that even though the Pokémon manifested as a mental entity, each one was an independent being. They didn't need Ronnie to use his own telekinesis when fighting—they relied on their own strength, just like a living Pokémon.
Ronnie's body essentially acted as a large Poké Ball, storing Pokémon until they were needed. They could also return to him to restore their energy.
This meant that even if Ronnie didn't train his telekinesis, he could still become powerful through his Pokémon. While others had to charge into battle themselves, Ronnie only needed to be a good trainer, commanding his Pokémon.
The only cost was the energy required to access the Illustrated Book, but other than that, his role as a trainer didn't require him to fight directly.
Ronnie let out a breath, feeling a bit of relief. His situation had just become a lot more interesting.
