Chapter 1 - A DEATH, A GAMBLE, AND A NEW START

Yo, this is my first actual fanfiction I made with my friend, so I hope you guys like the story! As for the following worlds... oops, a bit of spoilers, but that's the end of that topic. I don't own any of the anime characters or any anime that I'll be using in this story. I only own my OC, Dan and Pedro, and more. I hope you guys enjoy the start of this new story!

Chapter 1

The world is a bizarre place. Things happen for no reason, and yet, everything feels like it has a reason—like these two idiots, Dan and Pedro.

The two high school friends were walking across a rusty pedestrian bridge, the sounds of busy traffic below mixing with their laughter. Their uniforms were slightly disheveled, and neither of them had a care in the world.

"Bro, what was that sound earlier? You sounded like a mix of a dying hyena and a lawnmower stuck in a mud pit," Dan wheezed, clutching his stomach from laughing too hard.

Pedro adjusted his glasses and shot him a smug look. "Says the guy who laughs like he's choking on his own spit. You were like 'ahhh-ha-ha-ha'—what the hell was that?"

Dan grinned, unfazed. "Hey, my laugh is a masterpiece. You're just jealous."

Pedro snorted. "Masterpiece? You mean like how you butchered that math test last week? That was a masterpiece of failure."

Dan rolled his eyes. "Whatever, bro. At least I didn't get caught taking a nap in the middle of class and drooling on the desk."

Pedro went quiet for a second, but then he shrugged. "Touché."

Dan smirked. "We're both going to hell anyway, so who cares about that?"

Pedro snorted. "Oh, for sure. After all the crap we've said, especially about... you know, the chat."

Dan froze. "We don't talk about the chats."

"Exactly," Pedro nodded solemnly. "We're both so dead. Like... the kind of dead that gets a VIP ticket straight to hell."

Before Dan could add his two cents, there was a loud creak from the railing they were leaning against. Pedro leaned a little too far, and before either of them could react, the metal snapped.

"AAAHHHHHH!" Pedro screamed as he fell, arms flailing like he was trying to fly but forgetting how to.

Dan's eyes went wide. "Shit, no! Pedro!" He reached out, grabbing Pedro's hand just as they both plunged over the edge.

HOOOONNNKKKK

A truck's horn blared like it had a personal vendetta against them, the blinding headlights making everything go white. And then—nothing.

Dan's POV

I woke up with a headache that felt like my brain was trying to escape my skull. The first thing I noticed? White. Everything was white—like I'd walked into a snowstorm without the snow or a dream sequence that lasted too long.

"What the hell?" I groaned, sitting up. "Did I just get isekai'd into an overexposed Instagram filter?"

There was a groan next to me. Pedro, who was lying on the ground next to me, looked as confused as a guy who just woke up in an empty Taco Bell parking lot at 3 AM.

"What the... where are we?" Pedro grumbled, rubbing his head.

I stared at him for a moment. Then, we both said the same thing in unison.

"Isekai."

Before we could dive into a full-on existential crisis, a voice boomed from nowhere.

"Well, look what we have here."

I whipped around to see a figure standing there—tall, white robes, long white hair, and a blindfold. This guy looked like he had just walked out of some second-rate anime. Like, if Bleach had a budget cut, this guy would be the main character.

"Dude, are we in a bad anime?" I asked Pedro under my breath.

Pedro blinked at the guy. "No... no way. This isn't happening. Are we dead?"

"Maybe. But before you go spiraling, let me introduce myself," the man said with an overly dramatic wave of his hand. "I am the one and only—cough—the 'Man in White,' your guide to this little Isekai Hub. Nice to meet you."

I snorted. "Seriously? You're pulling a 'I'm so cool and mysterious' act? This feels like the beginning of some trashy isekai fanfic."

Pedro was still blinking, clearly processing. "Wait, Isekai Hub? Like, where we wait to get reincarnated?"

"Bingo!" the Man in White said. "But you're not the only ones here today. You two got a plus-one. That's not supposed to happen very often."

I gave Pedro a look. "Wait, so one of us wasn't supposed to be here?"

The man in white nodded, his grin widening. "Correct. Now, you two need to figure out who gets reincarnated."

I shot Pedro a glance. "I'm guessing this is where we fight to the death or something, huh?"

"Maybe," the man in white said, tapping his chin like he was trying to be profound. "I'm not going to tell you. That's for you two to figure out."

Pedro looked at him, and then at me. "Wait... hold up. You mean to tell me we have to fight for this?"

The man in white just shrugged. "Could be. Could be not. I like to leave it up to fate. So, who do you think will get reincarnated?"

"Man, this is some BS," Pedro muttered. "Is this some sort of sick joke? You just want us to fight over who gets a better afterlife, huh?"

I nodded along. "Yeah, because that's exactly what we need right now—more drama. We're already going straight to hell, and now we gotta choose who's the lucky one to get reincarnated? Really?"

Pedro threw up his hands. "So wait, if both of us get reincarnated, that's just... death for both of us?"

"Pretty much," the Man in White said casually. "If one of you gets reincarnated, the other will be crushed by the dimensions' borders and poof, no more existence."

Pedro grimaced. "Well, hell. This is just great. I'm totally screwed."

I rolled my eyes. "Bro, we're both screwed. One way or another, we're either going to burn for eternity or poof out of existence. So... I say we gamble on it."

Pedro stared at me, a little shocked. "What? You want to gamble for our lives?"

"Yeah, why not?" I grinned. "I mean, what else do we have to lose? Either we win and get some crazy powers, or we both get wiped out. It's a win-win."

Pedro thought about it for a second, then sighed. "Fine, let's do it. Let's gamble. But we're asking for perks first."

I raised an eyebrow. "Wait, you're telling me you actually want to stack the odds in our favor? Sure, let's go with that."

The man in white waved his hands, and suddenly, three slips of paper appeared in each of our hands. "Here. Write down three abilities or perks you want. If you win, you get them. If not... well, it's game over."

Pedro wrote down something quickly, and I followed suit. The man in white read them with a small smile.

"This should be fun," he said, clapping his hands.

And with that, the ground beneath us vanished.

"SHIT!" Pedro screamed as he plummeted.

, Dan yelled, "Don't worry, I'll save you a seat in the VIP section of hell!"

"FUCK YOU BITCH" yelled Pedro at Dan with as smile.

And with that, the two of them fell into the unknown, leaving the man in white grinning from ear to ear.

Third-Person POV

The Man in White stood alone, watching the two boys fall.

"They've got potential, but the real question is—how strong is their bond?" he mused aloud, a grin tugging at his lips. "Let's see how this plays out. This might be more interesting than I thought."

A/N: I know this is just the first chapter, but I hope you like it and give me some power stones to motivate me to continue this story.
