After two days in the hospital and sure he was okay from the doctor zayn went home but his mind kept going back to the conversation he had with the sly wraith, he never thought he would find himself making a deal one day with him.
But what more could he do, every time he stared at his mother and remembered the deal and everything he just didn't know what to do. Should he revoke it? Say he didn't want it again? Maybe that would be preferable.
The wraith was vague about what he wanted but he knew there was something more to it than that and he dare not trust that ghost. The faction was on a mission to stop a set of rebel people who are not supposed to be in the other world no more less than earth and capital city.
They needed to be stopped, and he became the best candidate for the task, just as they had chosen him but nothing more than that had he said, then threatening him to abide by their rules unless he would find his mother the way he had found his father and that was the straw that broke the camel's back on his resistance to succumb to their treacherous demands.
This week was the week before the last week of school closure, after the incident that happened he didn't know if he should be scared to talk and communicate with people or stay wary of them. They were playing mind games with his head.
He walked into his class and of course all heads turned to him, obviously the news of how zander had stared at him before dying must have spread like wildfire throughout the school. But he didn't mind, the important thing was not this.
His mind went haywire while the teacher kept talking, me kept seeing himself in that room full of lights in his dream. He raised his hand to touch the lights shining at him but a shout of his name brought him dropping it off by his side.
"Huh?" He blinked his eyes, running his fingers through his blond hair, his brain was messed up. He was daydreaming. His eyes went to his teacher and she cocked her brow in question. He knew why he wasn't in the class.
"You weren't here zayn"
"Now?"
"Yeah now" she packed her books on her desk "All through the whole time while class was going on just now, your brain was off and your eyes seemed distant before your outstretched it and…you know the rest" she pack the books from her desk ready to leave but she stopped close to him "rest well zayn, I know the death of your father is taking a toll on you but you need to concentrate this time. Your exams…they…you need them to leave." She pressed his shoulders and left, leaving him to himself.
He was thinking, he scurried off with his bag and left the school premises, whilst he walked lights flashed into his eyes. Was he hallucinating?. What was happening. He stood at the pedestrian curb waiting for the traffic lights to halt for everyone to pass. He bounced his legs, he was scared to cross the road for a reason unknown to him. His father died in an accident. He almost found his demise through an accident, the road was freaking him out now.
The lights stopped and everyone walked away leaving him still standing, horns blared from the cars waiting. Old people crossed, young children and adults. It buzzed his head and he pushed a leg which felt like pushing a truck. He moved again and again and again and again before continuing but he stopped in the middle which he didn't know turned out to be the centre of main intersection road.
His eyes flashed again and he clutched his head, this time he was running and running inside the hall chasing a ball of lights. His throat felt parched, and the light felt like a drop of water he needed in his dry throat. Finally he caught the light, slowly touching and seeing his hands go through it still feeling it.
He moved his body to get into it more from his hand, inquisitiveness clawing at his head to find out what was behind that portal of light. With half his body emerging through, he found himself in the midst of ruins, debrises everywhere. It looked like a disaster went down there. War. He saw a shiny substance not too far and tried to run to it but stopped himself after knowing he was just in the middle with that he withdrew back into the hall where it began enclosing around him again and he opened his eyes finding himself on a hospital bed.
