The bedroom was a serene oasis, complete with a queen-sized bed adorned in crisp white linens, a plush sheepskin rug, and a built-in bookshelf overflowing with novels. The expansive window offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline. This room was a far cry from my humble bedroom back at the pack house, where the bed was worn and often infested with cockroaches.
I lay down to rest, but soon found myself oversleeping. A gentle knock on the door roused me. "Here's your meal," a soft-spoken lady said, handing me a steaming dish. The aroma wafting from the food was incredible. "Let's hope it tastes as good as it smells," I said, digging in. The flavors danced on my palate, a stark contrast to the meager leftovers I was often given back at the pack house.
After finishing my meal, I tried to sleep, but my mind was abuzz with questions. Why had I been brought here?
Nyx's gentle voice broke through my thoughts. "You should be well-rested, so you can face whatever comes your way."
I nodded, taking her advice. A refreshing shower later, I slipped into bed.
Asher's POV
I summoned one of my servants. "Check on the lady I brought in. What's she doing?" The servant bowed and departed.
Lost in thought, I awaited her return. Soon, the servant reappeared. "She's asleep, sir." I nodded, dismissing her. "You're excused."
Dante's POV
I stormed into the Moon Stone Pack's palace, my anger simmering just below the surface. "What do you mean she's gone?" I demanded, my fists clenched so tightly that my knuckles turned white.
The Alpha of the Moon Stone Pack looked taken aback by my outburst, but I didn't care. "Answer me!" I pressed, my face burning with frustration.
The Alpha stuttered before finally responding, "She-she left with Asher Thorn, the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack."
My eyes narrowed. "What was his reason for taking her?" I asked, impatience etched in my voice. "Did he say how long she'd be staying with him?"
The Alpha's eyes widened, taken aback by my impatience. "He... didn't disclose his reason," he stammered, "but she'll be staying with him for three weeks."
I could sense the Alpha's curiosity getting the better of him. "May I ask, why are you so invested in the servant's whereabouts?" he ventured.
I turned to leave, but paused, my back still to him. "It's none of your concern," I said curtly. "I'll check in periodically. Inform me when she returns."
With that, I departed, leaving the Alpha to ponder my mysterious interest in the servant.
Daniel's POV
Alpha Dante's face darkened, his anger palpable. "What do you mean she's gone?" he thundered.
I recoiled, taken aback by the sudden outburst. My heart racing, I stumbled over my words. "I-I meant, Dahlia left, Alpha."
The Alpha's eyes blazed with intensity.
"Why would he care about Dahlia?"
"Tell me!" he bellowed, slamming his fists on the table.
The force of his demand shattered my thoughts, leaving me shaken and scrambling for a response.
After being pressed by Dante, I finally revealed the information he sought. With a curt nod, he departed, leaving me to gather my thoughts.
A knock at the door broke the silence. "Enter," I said, settling into my seat.
The maid entered with a tray. "Your coffee, Alpha."
As she turned to leave, I stopped her. "Wait."
She halted, turning to face me. "Was there any incident between Dahlia and Alpha Dante?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.
The maid's expression remained neutral. "No, Alpha. There was none."
I hummed, dismissing her. "You may leave."
As the door closed behind her, my mind began to wander. What could Alpha Dante possibly want with Dahlia?
