Lex could imagine that he may be a tad different from other souls that come to the Afterlife waiting room, for he knows he's dead and has already accepted that as it comes with his line of work.
Lex was an aspiring police officer, who was about to graduate the academy with honours. So when the opportunity to have a ride along with an experienced officer came up Lex took it without hesitation.
What he didn't expect was for a simple ride along to lead to an active shoot out between gangs. Lex was granted permission to carry so he wasn't unarmed and could return fire to protect himself and his fellow officer, that was his intention before he saw two young children hudled on the side of the road in the line of fire.
Without thinking twice Lex layed down some covering fire before bolting out from behind the police cruiser and towards the children. With adrenaline fueling him he makes it to them in seconds, quickly covers them with his body and scoops them up into his arms.
Then he darts to the corner of the street where the kids would be safe, it's only 100m and Lex could do it in under 12 seconds but with any cover he'd probably he shot before he makes it. But Lex begins to run anyways, about half way to the corner is when he feels the pinch of pain in his lower back then his legs and shoulders. He doesn't stop nor falter he has a duty to protect and serve.
Making to the corner Lex puts the kids down, both of whom are still crying. He checks them over sees they are uninjured let's out a smile and collapses.
Next time he opened his eyes Lex was within the waiting room. "Alexander Price" a voice calls out, Lex looks up to see a pale but beautiful woman looking at him.
"That's me" he stands walking over to her.
"Please follow me" She tells him, they walk through a seemingly endless corridor filled with doors before the beautiful woman stops and gestures to the door beside them, "Good Luck" she offers with a smile.
"Thanks" Luke mutters already half way into the office like room. It's completely basic a single desk with two office chairs either side facing one another.
In no rush Luke takes a seat, "Hmm comfy"
"I'm glad you think so" A masculine voices says startling Lex. Looking up he sees a man with raven hair and yellow eyes, "Hello Lex, I'm Wayne I shall be in charge of your reincarnation"
"My Reincarnation?" Lex asks, he's familiar with the concept he has watched anime afterall.
"Yes, A few years ago to save time we introduced your world to the joys of Isekai which you are familiar with no doubt" Wayne explains pointing to various Isekai anime posters that now reside on the walls.
"Right. I suppose that makes sense"
"Wonderful" Wayne says excitedly giving clap as a wheel appears before them. "This is The Wheel of Universes, it shall randomly select a new universe for you that you are compatible with"
With that the Wheel immediately begins to spin at what seems to be a round miles an hour before abruptly stopping. "Ah Black Clover" Wayne says.
Lex silently sets out a sigh of relief thankfully it's a world he's familiar with he has watched the anime until when Yami was kidnapped.
"Now it's time for your affinity" Wayne says raising his hand..
"Affinity?" Lex asks before Wayne can move on.
"Yes affinity, see Black Clover is a world of Magic so it's best to get your affinity out of the way now" Wayne explains before snapping his fingers and and gumball machine appears.
Already knowing what to do Lex pulls the lever for the machine and with seconds and ball rolls out and into his hand. "ICE" Lex reads.
"Goody, it's time for the good part" Wayne gets viably excited again, "You shall now choose three characters from any fiction as long as they match your affinity"
"Will I be getting all their powers?"
"Nope" Wayne says shattering Lexs hopes and dreams. "Your choice's will simply be taken into account when we create your new life. You might receive they power, knowledge, skills or appearance"
"Okay can I have a moment?" Lex asks already thinking of his choices.
"Go for it"
"Can I request a specific ability or power instead of a character" Lex asks with some ideas in mind.
Wayne offers him a shrug, "Don't see why not"
"Alright can I have Ice Breathing from Demon Slayer" Lex says with surprising confidence considering it didn't appear in the anime.
"Done" Wayne says confirming Lex request.
Lex let's a silent sigh of relief, he was sure if Ice Breathing would be a power he could have because if never appeared in the episodes he watched of demon slayer. 'Alright next up should be someone can add some versatility,
"Let's go with Jack Frost, from The Rise of The Guardians" Lex tells Wayne.
"Easy" Wayne says
"Lastly perhaps someone with a bit more power....oh Bobby or Iceman from Marvel" Lex says confidently.
"Wonderful" Wayne claps and suddenly both party's are standing in a basic office space. "Enjoy" Wayne says before flicking Lex on the forehead.
~5 Years Later~
~MC POV~
Five short but seemingly longs year have passed since I've begun my new life, with a new appearance, name and family.
I am now call Jack Frost, basic but rolls off the tounge easy enough. I've also gained his appearance from Rise of the Guardians, almost pure white hair that looks gray from certain angles and light blue eyes. While physically I am just all the other orphans just slightly skinny.
Speaking of orphans I am one in my new life, I live in and orphanage in Hage Village alongside three other orphans, Asta, Yuno and Rekka. The four of us are looked after by Father Orsi, he's a good man but a tad emotional.
It was strange to see characters from anime come to live but as far as I'm concerned Asta and Yuno are my annoying little brothers even if one is destined to be the Wizard King.
But because I'm their older brother I do have the responsibility to make sure their path to their dreams are clear so I've decided to begin my training. But I have awakened my magic so Breathing Techniques will have to do.
*Hiss* 'In'
*Haa* 'Out'
I'm not sure how long I practiced my breathing but it was dark out when Father Orsi called out to me. "Jack can you come here for a moment?"
"Yes Father?" I asks as I enter back room that belongs to Father Orsi.
He holds up a letter, "I've received word that we shall be receiving help due to the increase of orphans residing here"
"Help?"
"Yes, a young nun, Sister Lily, shall be joining us" Orsi pauses walking to Jack and crouching dow to his level, "So make sure
to be welcoming and kind, okay?"
I offers him a grin, "Don't worry old man I'll take care of her"

Father Orsi watches young Jack run off with a smile before he frowns, "Old Man" he mutters
before catching a glimpse of his greying hair hanging in front of his forehead.
Father Orsi panics "Oh no I'm going gray" he begins pulling down different strands all of which are gray. "I'll have to dye it...no! I'll have to pray for my hair to turn hair back to black"
Father Orsi quickly heads off to pray, unaware of a Little Jack frost hidden around the corner silently dying of laughter. After all he was the one who dyed Father Orsi hair last night.
