"Huh, what's this? Where am I?"
I tried to remember what happened to me, but all I can recall is a lightning falling from the sky and then BAAAAAM!! Complete darkness, and the pain I felt was something I never wanted to experience again. But much to my shock, now I don't feel any pain at all.
"Wait, now that I realize it, I can't feel my hands, legs, or anything. What happened to me? Am I dead? Is this place heaven or hell?"
I tried to calm my mind and look for any clues to know where I am, but all I saw was pitch darkness. Suddenly, a massive headache began to fill my mind. It felt like someone was trying to open my head with a hammer as the memories I lost came flooding back.
Ah, yes, my name is Sam Maxwell. I was just an ordinary college student. My mother, Sylvia Maxwell; my father, Alexander Maxwell; and my sister, Anna Maxwell—we were just a normal middle-class family. My mother and father are kind people who only know how to live their lives for their children, and my sister is our little bundle of joy. I can't imagine the pain they will go through once they realize that I am gone.
As memories returned, I felt my consciousness expanding in this endless void. Fear began to creep in, gnawing at the edges of my thoughts. It was as if I was trapped in the space between life and death, with no way out. My family... will I ever see them again?
Suddenly, a soft glow appeared in the darkness. It grew brighter and brighter until it enveloped me completely. The pain ceased, replaced by an overwhelming warmth. I felt my body returning, a sensation I never thought I'd experience again.
Before me stood three figures clad in radiant armor. Their eyes sparkled with an ethereal light, comforting and powerful at the same time. They reached out a hand, and as I took it, I felt a surge of energy course through me.
"Welcome, Sam Maxwell," the figure in the front spoke in a voice that resonated like a chorus of angels. "You have been chosen."
"Chosen? For what?" I asked, still bewildered by the whirlwind turn of events.
"You are to become a Guardian of earth12E43, a land in desperate need of your light," he explained. "Your quirk, once dormant, now awakens with the power to protect and heal."
"I know you have questions about us and what is happening to you, but we are sorry that we do not have much time. If our brother knows, it will be dangerous for you. Your quirk will awaken when the time is right," the figure said in a calm voice.
I asked in a panicked voice, "Who are you guys? Who is your brother? And what is a quirk and why—" I froze. The void began to shake, and something or someone was coming. I felt a chilling cold like death approaching. A chill ran down my spine. I looked at the figure in the radiant armor as he said, "We do not have much time, my child. We are sorry for placing such a burden on you, but we had no other choice. We will meet again when you awaken your quirk." And then—
Everything swirled again, and I found myself standing in a realm that was otherworldly yet familiar: the city of Musutafu. This realm, unlike anything I had ever seen, was my new reality. With new powers and a destiny to uphold, I vowed to protect this world and find my way back to my family.
