Chapter 2
... In other words, his family is the black sheep and thus, the laughingstock among the other branches. Due to their current status, they are not permitted to step foot in the main branch, except by invitation, which of course is rarer than seeing pigs fly. Despite the insult and maltreatment by members of the other branches, he still maintained a good relationship with them because a man should not bite the hand that feeds him. Simply put, his uselessness was the reason he remained in the family_ a branch young master whose whole life has been orchestrated by the family head. "I… It's… been long… you sent money for the baby's upkeep." Mei complained ridding the silence that has been built over some minutes. "Okay I'll transfer everything together." "This time should be more, there's a new addition," she summoned boldness as she continued. A sharp glint raced quickly through his eyes as he turned to gaze at Mei and reached out to touch her belly, "Umm?" "Yes." The other responded. No trace of happiness could be seen as he reached out to hug her again. "The phone call earlier, who was it from? Why did you seem reluctant to continue the conversation?" Mei pushed hoping he'd open up to her since, in a way, she was his concubine and mother of his children, "The weather is good this evening and the night approaches upon us like a thief. It high time I went home I'll make sure to fulfill my promise to you and…" while he was speaking his phone rang again, interrupting his speech. This time, he glanced at the screen and busied the call after identifying the caller_ probably someone he doesn't want to remember. He was about to slip the phone into his pocket when it beeped briefly, signifying that he'd received a message. After taking a brief but careful glance at the message he slip the phone into his trousers and started putting on his shirt, he didn't care to say 'bye' before walking out of the room in the slow steady steps of a master. The wind whispered in his ear softly as he drove his sport car toward a deserted lane. The lane was deserted because it was one of the area in China at the time, that has become inhabitable and thus, desolate. This was due to a war which happened some centuries back between human and some aliens who tried to enter the China atmosphere, their ship was shot down by the best atomic weapon of the time. Unfortunately, after being shot down, it still crashed into the Lang market which spans tens of kilometers leaving damage, carnage and destruction in its wake. He brought his thought to a close when he brought the car to a halt in the garage of the Open China Hospital_ one of the most expensive hospitals in the area. Alighting his car, he walked unrushed, without any iota of respect for his surrounding, into the hospital and straight to a certain ward 201. On opening the door, he found a woman who appeared weak and faint, she'd obviously lost a lot of blood, but what was that to him? The ward was crowded with nurses who whispered among themselves about the similarities between the weak woman with a faint breath and the carefree and unenthusiastic gentleman standing before them, some of them would bet their life on the fact that they were siblings; but if that was so then there must be something wrong with the entire family_ a crazy bunch of incestuous individuals_ some even dared to think yet no one questioned the vague relation. Without giving as much as a glance to the woman he walked up the chief matron, who was standing together with a number of mid-wives opposite the auxiliary nurses. "Where is it?" Mr. Kang asked with a monotonous tone that betrayed any emotion, "Right this way sir." The chief Matron respectfully bowed and politely responded. He turned swiftly with a smooth, fluid motion and then walked briskly behind the Matron who brought him to a cot. After standing a moment, he walked round and round the cot while maintaining equidistance. After a few seconds of inspection, his face contorted in rage and he walked out of the ward and out of the hospital.
Few minutes later, his sport car could be seen exceeding the speed limits in the middle of the night. Yet he stepped furiously on the acceleration just as his speedometer exceeds the 100m/h speed.
Grrinn… grrinnn… he picked up the phone and carefully looked at the screen. After allowing it to ring three more times he answered the call. [You surely took your time, little brat. I would love to remind you that if I have to ring you more than once before you answer, irrespective of your reason I'll teach you about the vicissitude of life… Do you know what I will do first?] The voice on the other end asked but Kang decided to exercise his right to remain silent. Eventually the voice on the other end continued threateningly, [Your third leg, yes I'll cripple your third leg…] the voice paused allowing his threat to sink before he continued [… and kill all your bitches and their bastard. Be warned. ] "Y… y… yes sir." Kang answered shuttering as his hands wildly vibrated due to his fear. [That's more like it. So what was the result?] Kang took a deep breath to calm his nerves before he responded, "it's the same as last time, I'm still childless" [Shit…] the voice reacted furiously and immediately disconnect the call. Bong… his car had obviously hit something or someone but he was unperturbed and drove away without taking a glance. While driving, his mind wondered back to the series of events and revelations that became uncovered after his killing of the innocent maid. He has to make a decision or he'd be disposed. He couldn't do much at the moment, but he can properly give the fuckup of a woman who excreted that garbage a good, nice, wonderful treat. Kang smiled sinisterly, this time was going to be more brutal than the last_ or so he thought.
