Chapter 6: Glimmer

_____

There were two kinds of potions in the simple little box of glimmer. Oran gave two to Ivankov and two to Ginny, respectively.

"What's this?"

Ginny raised the glass bottle above her head. Under the sunlight, the lavender light in the potion seemed to become brighter.

"This is Weelight, a product of Zaun's alchemical technology."

Zaun, like Piltover, is the name of an area. They were originally one, but for various reasons, they were divided into two parts.

Piltover focuses more on the development of Hextech technology, while Zaun has given birth to special alchemical technology. Oran lives in Piltover, but he also has a close relationship with Zaun.

Orlan never felt that Piltover was much more noble than Zaun, nor did he feel that Zaun's technology was backward. He absorbed the advantages of different technologies and used them reasonably.

"Weelight, what a beautiful name. It looks beautiful too, but I wonder how it tastes."

Ginny licked her lips. She thought that good-looking things should taste good. This was a rather simple idea of hers. After all, she had hardly ever had a full meal in all these years.

"This is not food. I'm giving it to you just in case."

Oran had no idea what would happen on the island. Even if Ivankov and Ginny had the idea of resisting, they were essentially just underage children.

There's no need for those famous characters in the normal timeline; just slightly trained soldiers are not something they can handle.

There are stronger weapons, but the problem is that in this ocean, personal bravery has a huge influence. In the case of Ginny and Ivankov, holding weapons that are too strong may even aid the enemy, which will become a foreshadowing.

"This vial can be used to heal wounds. If you are accidentally injured, it can save your life."

This was the original purpose of the Glimmer Potion: to heal trauma and disease. The alchemist Singed developed this potion by extracting a new substance from the bodies of the mutant lizards he raised.

Just a little bit can have a powerful therapeutic effect.

Oran used a formula he obtained from a dream world to change the composition of the glimmer, reducing its medicinal properties and eliminating its addictive side effects, all at the cost of increasing production costs.

However, compared to the raw materials that are difficult to obtain from the mutant lizard, it is not a bad idea to say that it reduces costs.

"This is good stuff. What about this big bottle?"

At this time, such a potion is almost a second life. Ivankov and Ginny carefully put it away and then looked at the other injection.

"It's best if you don't use it. It's for you to use with all your might. If you're stuck in a dead end, stab it into your heart. Maybe it will help you escape."

Perhaps it is a common human nature that whenever a new product appears, humans always wonder whether it can be used in war, and the next thing to think about is whether it can be used in war.

The Glimmer Potion is no exception. As time goes by, its use becomes more complicated and dangerous. Once taken in large quantities, the body will become unstable and mutated.

Even the one that Oran improved still retained this effect, and when a large dose of the drug was injected directly into the heart, the body would be reborn, gaining strength far beyond what it had before, as well as unknown powers.

The relationship between Zaun and Piltover is very complicated, and there are even constant disputes. Compared with Piltover, Zaun is much worse, and the Glimmer is their weapon against the Upper City.

"We don't have a complete army, we don't have strong warriors. All we have left are our own bodies.

This potion can burn life and turn the body into a better weapon, at least giving it some power to resist."

Burning life—those words already explained the price. If it weren't for the special circumstances now, Oran wouldn't have considered such unstable things.

"This is also a good thing, haha! If you really encounter that kind of situation, this is much better than waiting to die."

If I said I wasn't afraid at all, I'd definitely be lying.

But compared to the threat of death, Ivankov was more afraid of being unable to fight back. Even Ginny had the same idea.

After collecting Oran's potion, the two walked in another direction, guided by the local residents of God's Valley. Oran, on the other hand, gathered the remaining people and prepared to head toward the nearby granary to take a look.

After a while, Oran and the others found a warehouse in the canyon, located quite a distance away from where Oran's black ship had appeared.

The residents of the Valley of the Gods had transformed a natural cave into a warehouse. The cave's natural environment made it function as a refrigerator. At the entrance of the cave, a thick iron chain locked the iron door used for entry and exit.

Crack.

With a crisp sound, a shark-man bit directly through the chain. The hard iron chain crumbled as easily as a biscuit in his mouth.

"Shaq, well done. Excellent racial talent. Is this the bite force of a shark-man? Quite outstanding."

"Thank you very much for the compliment, Oran. You know, this is the first time someone has praised me like this!"

The fishman, who initially had a fierce expression, now appeared somewhat flustered. The compliment seemed to genuinely excite him. Shaq also sensed Oran's tone carried no trace of mockery or disdain—just sincere admiration, unlike the usual discrimination he faced from humans.

"Don't be so excited. We still have a lot to do. If there's a chance in the future, I'd love for you to take me to visit Fishman Island. I've always yearned to see that island in the deep sea."

"Yes, definitely."

Together, they pushed open the door. With light streaming in through the opening, neatly stacked boxes appeared before them. After a quick inspection, they discovered all the food was well-preserved. It seemed the administrator here hadn't taken any for personal gain.

At first, Oran had been concerned they might find an empty warehouse, which would have posed a real problem.

However, not only was it stocked, but Oran also discovered a large amount of sugar inside.

"Everyone, please bring as much sugar and dried meat as possible. Carry as much as you can, because we don't know how long we'll need to stay here!"

"Oran, do you like sweets?"

At this moment, Kuma was carrying a massive package on his back, with supplies stacked twice as high as his own height. Shaq was in a similar state, even hanging bags of supplies around his waist after hearing Oran wanted to take more candy.

Whether it was the tremendous power of Kuma's giant bloodline from the Buccaneers people or the natural arm strength of murlocs, which was ten times that of ordinary humans, both proved invaluable for survival.

However, Kuma couldn't understand why they needed to carry so much sugar. Though sweet things were indeed nice, he felt they couldn't truly fill a stomach.

"Kuma, sugar isn't just sweet. It has many uses. Especially in this kind of situation, it's a very important strategic material."
