Nicolo closed his eyes on the second bed while Lucian was laying on the first one.
It does seem like a bait designed to fool me. I'll have to think and find out all the way to the root of this. So let's assume Gary IS working with Ralph. Because, if this plan is made, then it can only be made by someone like Ralph, not Gary himself. That might also be the reason why Nicolo allowed me to talk with Gary in the first place.
Which means Gary intentionally leaked that password to me. And if I'm the ghost and I go after that piece, I'll HAVE to use that password and will get caught instantly. Because, the only person who knows the password other than Gary and Ralph, is ME. Yes, that's very clearly the reason Gary leaked it with so much accuracy and specific detailing.
In this world of lies and secrets, you can trust no one, absolutely no one, not even someone like Gary, who seemed innocent to me. There was a time I trusted a person so much that I lost the meaning of trust.
Lucian closed his eyes.
Knowing the kind of background Gary has, he has the right to suspect me under Ralph's guide. The fact that there's a possibility of Gary knowing the person behind his father's death gives me enough reason to plan for every possible outcome.
So, if Elias gives me my new mission, and I steal the piece, I'll get caught as I'm the only one with the password. But what will happen if I just choose to ignore the mission? Ignoring even Elias. Ralph doesn't know about our deal and conditions, so from his perspective, I can just choose to ignore the deal.
Lucian was overthinking, but nothing he thought was wrong.
So far, the ghost hasn't ignored Elias's mission, that being the Eclipse Heist. If I choose to ignore it this time, Ralph will instantly know that I chose to dismiss the mission after deducing his trap. Which will increase his suspicion by almost a hundred percent, that I am 'The Ghost', as I'm the only one Gary exposed the password to.
So no matter what I do, steal the piece or not, I'l HAVE to put myself in Ralph's trap, that's how it is designed! Ralph really thought of everything this time and made a multi-dimensional trap. No matter what I do, I just can't escape it. Or that's what it seems like…
Well, for now, I'll just have to test the accuracy of the prediction Ralph made about Elias's mission. If he knows about Elias's connections with the ghost, then there's no doubt that he has the power to know more about him too.
But this time, did Ralph predict Elias's future actions or…..is going to drive it?
Only time can tell.
Lucian put his mind into rest, switching off his brain to stop all the overthinking. Even though he was now in the middle of an inescapable trap, he instantly made himself relax, because all of his thoughts were merely imaginations. Nothing is confirmed till he actually gets a mission from Elias himself.
Around 4 minutes ago,
"So what did you decide? Would you tell him about it or not?", Luther asked Elias, while resting his head on his hands, sitting on a chair.
"I think I should. I don't know how this would help him progress towards my goal, but this isn't really just about that.", Elias replied in a quiet voice.
He was sitting on a sofa, inside Luther's office.
Luther was kind of confused. He questioned with his eyebrows raised, "And what is that?"
"I think I should put more trust in Luke. If I keep hiding information from him, he will eventually get caught and maybe even jeopardize my plans. He is brilliant, who knows what he can do with the fact that I killed Zeph Loxley? He might even need that info.", Elias was looking towards the broken window, then turned his head towards Luther.
"Is that really it? But you know right, that exposing that information to Luke might mean that he will expose you and get you into jail? I mean what's stopping him? The only thing stopping him is the lack of information. Remember?", Luther warned Elias, again.
"I know all of that. But to achieve great goals, I'll have to take greater risks.", Elias became silent, so did Luther.
After a few moments, Elias broke the silence by taking out his phone and saying, "I'm going to do it. I may as well say the other things."
He started typing on the phone, sending messages to Luke.
"Should I also tell him about O3 now?", Elias thought as his fingers stopped after typing some lines, "No-No. That might create a greater problem than I can realize."
"Did you do it then?", Luther asked.
"Yes, I did it. Let's see what happens now.", Elias stood up, going towards his room.
24th July, 2023,
Morning,
Who is that? Oh, that's Nicolo, he is standing in front of the? The coffee machine, right.
Lucian was rubbing his eyes as he woke up.
"One for me too please.", Lucian murmured.
"For sure!", Nicolo replied.
Lucian checked his phone, and saw a few messages. He unlocked his phone to see that those are messages from Elias. It came yesterday, just a little bit before 12pm.
Lucian locked his apps and ultimately his phone, going to the bathroom.
Around 5 minutes later, he came out, fresh. Nicolo was sitting near the window, with a book in his hands and his phone and a cup of coffee beside him.
Lucian came towards his bed and saw his cup on another table. He quickly sat on his chair and picked up his phone while taking a sip from his cup.
He opened Elias's messages.
Elias - "Luke, I'm still messaging you, assuming that you are still in a public place. The thing I wanna say is, get ready for your next mission."
Elias - "You'll have to steal a piece of information that lies inside the 12th house on Harper Street. Don't ask me the reasons, just do what I say, and you'll be freed soon."
Lucian was amazed for a moment, drinking a lot of coffee in a single sip. His 8 hours of relaxing sleep came to an end, as his imaginations became true, painting a long road in front of him.
So Ralph really predicted all of this. He knew that Elias is gonna give me this mission, and he made that 2 way trap based on this prediction. Something doesn't seem right for sure..
How can he make such a trap based on a mere assumption. This can't just be an assumption. While it is also true that Ralph seems to have connections that expose him to information about Elias's past and his motivation. So, I can't exactly say that this mission thing was somehow set up by Ralph himself.
The lack of information I have is really bugging me now. I still have many questions unanswered.
Lucian took another sip, while putting his phone aside.
What is Aria doing now? Is she doing okay there? If she is under Elias's control, then I doubt that she isn't okay.
He respects people that are good, or people that help him. The fact that he trusted me enough to reveal about his killing of Zeph suggests that I have gained trust. But should I reciprocate it though?
23rd July,2023,
Night,
Gary ended his conversation with Lucian, and after that, he just held his phone in his hand, while looking down. Karl and Ralph were standing just in front of him.
Gary successfully completed his part of the plan.
"Good Job, Gary", Ralph said, standing, looking towards Gary.
"I promise I'll bring down 'The Ghost', respecting your father's legacy. And everyone involved", Ralph's assuring voice ignited Gary once again.
"Now, as I've set the trap, I'll have to proceed with the next step, acquiring the email....
