Chapter 6 - The Challenge!

[Scene: Classroom 2-B – Afternoon]

The tension between Aoi and Miyu was so thick that the entire class had fallen silent, watching them like an audience waiting for the climax of a drama.

Ryo, sitting between them, felt like he was in the middle of a battlefield.

Aoi's confidence is terrifying, but Miyu's not backing down either…

Finally, Miyu smirked, flicking her long black hair over her shoulder. "Fine, let's settle this properly."

Aoi raised an eyebrow. "Settle what, exactly?"

Miyu crossed her arms. "You claim to be the perfect fiancée for Ryo. But I don't buy it. So let's put it to the test."

The class gasped.

"A test?!" Hina leaned forward, eyes sparkling with excitement. "Ohhh, this is getting good! What kind of test?!"

Miyu smirked. "Simple. A Fiancée Challenge. If Aoi really deserves to stand by Ryo's side, she should have no problem proving it, right?"

Aoi didn't even hesitate. "Sure, why not?"

Ryo nearly choked. "WAIT, WHAT?!"

Aoi glanced at him with a teasing grin. "What, scared I'll lose?"

"Yes!" Ryo blurted. "Why are you agreeing to this?!"

Miyu laughed softly. "Because she knows she can't win."

Aoi's smirk widened. "Oh, I know I can win. That's why I agreed."

Miyu's eye twitched. "Hmph. We'll see about that."

[Scene: School Bulletin Board – The Next Morning]

The next day, a huge sign was pinned to the school bulletin board:

"The Ultimate Fiancée Challenge: Aoi vs. Miyu! Who is the best match for Ryo?!"

Ryo read the sign and felt his soul leave his body.

Oh no… it's worse than I thought.

Hina skipped over, grinning. "It's happening, Ryo! The entire school is excited!"

"Excited?!" Ryo nearly screamed. "How did this even get out?!"

Hina blinked innocently. "Miyu made the poster. She wanted everyone to witness her victory."

Ryo turned to Aoi, who looked completely unfazed.

She smirked. "Relax, Ryo. I've got this."

Ryo wasn't convinced. "What is the challenge even about?!"

Hina giggled. "Oh, it's a series of tests! Whoever proves to be the best fiancée wins!"

Miyu suddenly walked up, her presence commanding attention. "That's right. And of course, I've chosen the perfect categories."

Aoi crossed her arms. "Go on, then. Let's hear them."

Miyu smiled sweetly. "The challenge will consist of three rounds:

1. Cooking – A proper fiancée must be able to cook a perfect meal for her future husband.

2. Schoolwork – A fiancée should be smart enough to support her partner.

3. Romance – The ultimate test of love. Whoever gives Ryo the most heartfelt moment wins this round."

Ryo paled. "You're kidding, right?!"

Miyu ignored him. "Tomorrow, we'll do the cooking test. I hope you're ready, Aoi."

Aoi smirked. "Oh, I'm more than ready."

Ryo buried his face in his hands.

I don't think I'm surviving this week…

[Scene: School Kitchen – Cooking Test Begins!]

The next day, the school kitchen was packed with students, all watching eagerly as Aoi and Miyu stood at their respective cooking stations.

Ryo sat at a table in the center, feeling like a sacrificial lamb.

Hina, acting as the "official announcer," clapped her hands. "Alright, ladies and gentlemen! The first round of the Fiancée Challenge begins now! Both contestants must cook a meal for Ryo, and he will be the judge!"

Ryo gulped. Why am I the one suffering?!

Miyu smirked. "I'll make something elegant and refined—just like me."

Aoi rolled up her sleeves. "I'll make something that actually tastes good."

Miyu's eye twitched. "We'll see about that."

[20 Minutes Later…]

Miyu stepped forward first, presenting her dish—a beautifully plated French cuisine dish.

She smiled. "A proper meal for a proper gentleman."

Ryo hesitantly took a bite.

It was… good. Really good.

The students murmured in approval. "Wow, she's amazing…"

Miyu smirked. "Your turn, Aoi."

Aoi grinned and slammed a plate down in front of Ryo.

It was a massive serving of homemade omurice, the word "Idiot" written in ketchup on top.

The students burst into laughter.

Ryo sighed. "Why am I not surprised?"

Aoi grinned. "Go on, eat up."

Ryo took a bite.

And instantly, his eyes widened.

It was… delicious.

Warm, fluffy, and filled with a rich, comforting flavor that made him nostalgic.

Miyu frowned. "Hmph. It's just simple home cooking."

Aoi leaned in, smirking. "Yeah, but he likes it."

Ryo cleared his throat. "A-And the winner of the first round is…"

He sighed. "Aoi."

The students cheered.

Aoi smirked at Miyu. "That's one for me."

Miyu's fists clenched. "Tch… don't get cocky. The next round is schoolwork. And I know you can't win that."

Aoi just grinned. "We'll see."

Ryo, meanwhile, sat back in his chair.

One round down… and I already feel like my life is over.
