"These recent days, crime rates have jumped higher than the past few years. We believe it has to do with the devil's influence. We think, by the days that have gone by, the devil is growing stronger. As god's chosen one, we believe you to be able to banish the devil back into the pits of hell." The King ended. Jayce listened very carefully. So the main quest starts! This should be easy as lemon pie! Although, he never really learned to make lemon pie.
"Of course, Your Majesty. You have my word," Jayce replied with full confidence that struck the King with approval. "Along side you, I have already appointed your dear friend to accompany you—" Elijah walked and stood behind Jayce, "—The Counsel also have taken it upon themselves to send their most skilled healer to join your envoy. You can rest assured that any major injuries you can acquire will immediately disappear in a blink of an eye. You can count Ephilia on this," At the King's words, a short girl with white hair began to walk towards them from behind the Counsels. She looked timid as she carried a huge wooden staff, but with the praise the King gave, Jayce decided it was best to not underestimate her.
"I-I maybe small but you can trust me to have your back!" Ephilia said, hands clenched round her staff.
"We have also personally sought the entire continent for the best warrior alive. Jayce Middler, meet Rucias The Warrior Goddess." A very tall woman appeared from the shadows, her whole body covered in silver armor. Jayce stared at the muscular woman in awe. Her fiery red hair ties in a high ponytail made it easy to compare it to a blazing flame. "Tsk, unlike this little mouse, don't expect me to carry you the entire time." Rucias crossed her arms.
"The four of you will be a party that destroys the devil and bring back—" The King paused.
"Wait!" The Princess screamed. A beautiful young lady, with golden long hair, and the prettiest green eyes. "Father, I too wish to partake in the Heroes Party!"
"Aurelia!—" The King began to intervene but Princess Aurelia, steadfast and forward as she was, had already made her way to the Hero's Party and firmly stood her ground next to Jayce. Everyone in the room gasped in shock at her behavior as she grasped Jayce hand in hers. "This Kingdom is my own, and the people here are also my people. Father, let me be able to prove myself to everyone and I promise I will aid the Heroes to victory!" Stunned, Jayce didn't pull his hand away from her, and merely enjoyed the warmth from those soft hands.
Unable to protest his daughter's perseverance, the King sighed in defeat. "Fine, you may go. I trust in your abilities in magic to be a huge advantage for the Heroes Party." The Princess smiled brightly at this, her grasp at the hand within hers, tightening.
"Then with this, I declare you, The Heroes Party! Bring forth Peace back to this Kingdom!"
Jayce, Elijah, Princess Aurelia, Euphilia, and Rucias, all kneeled and accepted the King's blessing with grace.
Perfect, perfect, perfect! Everyone's here— The cute healer that relies on the Hero, the warrior girl who's secretly a tsundere and opens up to the Hero with time, the Hero's best friend the side-kick, and the princess who falls in love with the Hero and marries him after the end of the quest! Everything is exactly as it was in those RPG GAMES!
Jayce couldn't contain his joy anymore and a grin snuck into his face. This will be easy, in no time, I'll be swimming in wealth and girls. All those years of feeling like a loser— whose got the last laugh now!
So much days have passed since the beginning of their journey to the Devil's prison, or as they called it in this world, The Pits of Hell. Apparently, as Jayce now knows thanks to the Princess, the pits of hell is a place on this world where god has banished the devil. Since it has occupied that place for so long, the devil's evil aura has manifested into monsters that began to lurk nearby. Hence they called it the Pits of Hell, not only did the devil exist there, so did other demons.
"You know," Elijah started as the carriage continued to move. The princess, the warrior, and the healer had long gone to sleep, only leaving Elijah and Jayce awake. "I actually have a sister, however, an incident happened that tore us apart. The reason why I'm always traveling a lot is because I wish to find her. It's been five long years since we've last seen each other, and every day I grow more and more anxious," Elijah paused before giving a soft laugh, "Sorry I'm dropping all this on you. I don't know why but you make it so easy to talk to you so... Thank you."
Jayce didn't know what to reply to that, so this young man was not only good-looking, talented and kind but he also had a sad backstory. Had Jayce not transmigrate into this world, perhaps Elijah would have been the original MC. To distract himself from these thoughts, he continued the conversation, he took a swig out of the flask in his hand, "Tell me more about your sister."
In the dark, Elijah's eyes could be seen glowing in delight.
"Well where do I start..." Despite this, Elijah definitely knew where to start as he began to ramble on every detail he could remember about his sister. To her habits, her childhood preferences, her dislikes and ideologies. "My sister looks almost identical to me, except she has our mother's eyes. She adores it when I do her hair, and she is easily scared which worries me more. How is she right now, and if she's somewhere out there scared out of her wits. We've never been apart for so long that the very thought of it is distressing," Elijah carried on the conversation by himself, getting lost in the memories of past warmth. The sister he lost continues to linger like a ghost at the back of his mind. Someone who's practically a female version of Elijah must be very pretty. Jayce thought. A frail girl, with long inky hair, and beauty marks on her face. The faceless beauty began to evade Jayce's mind, and before he knew it, he was fast asleep.
