I have never gotten so many points before, Lizarius thought, soaring through the sky, still invisible. I'm really tasty, he mused, a hint of dark humor in his thoughts. After a while of aimless flight, he realized, I don't even know the direction I'm heading.
He spotted a small waterfall in the distance and descended, landing near the plunge pool. Still invisible, he approached the water and began to drink. Something moving beneath the surface caught his attention. His glowing yellow eyes focused on the disturbance in the water. A monstrous mouth suddenly lunged upwards, attempting to snap down on him. At the last moment, Lizarius reacted, his body crackling with electricity, and darted away from the plunge pool, reappearing as he moved.
That was a close call! he thought, his heart pounding. The movement of the water while I was drinking must have attracted its attention.
A massive beast emerged from the water, its blue eyes glowing ominously. It towered over Lizarius. "System," he said, his voice tense, "what kind of beast is this?"
The beast was revealed in its full, terrifying glory: a blue crocodile as large as a full-grown bear. Standing before it, Lizarius looked no bigger than a full-grown pig. Rank 4, High Stage beast, the system announced. Blue Scale Crocodile. Known for living in freshwaters. They mainly use water-based attacks.
A Rank 4, High Stage beast… Lizarius thought, his heart pounding. I might be strong, but this is too much. If I try to fight it, I might die. I have to get away from it. He turned invisible and tried to take flight, but the crocodile reacted with surprising speed. It swung its massive tail, striking Lizarius before he could escape. The force of the blow sent him crashing through several trees, his invisibility abruptly ending.
Injured, Lizarius struggled to his feet, his yellow eyes glowing with a mixture of fear and determination. He stared at the crocodile, which was now advancing towards him. "Since you're not going to let me go," he hissed, "I'm going to fight you… to the death!"
