Lizarius looked up at the hundreds of Moonlight Bats clinging to the ceiling of the cave. "There are more than a hundred of them," he muttered. He swung his tail upwards. Dozens of golden scales shot out, piercing through the mass of bats.
The remaining Moonlight Bats opened their red eyes in fury. Before they could attack, Lizarius charged his body with electricity, unleashing a torrent of lightning that filled the cave. The Moonlight Bats were thrown into disarray, scrambling to escape. Many were struck by the lightning, falling to the ground. Lizarius didn't stop. He swung his tail again, sending a barrage of lightning-charged golden scales into the panicked swarm.
A few Moonlight Bats managed to escape, flying out of the cave and into the clouds.
"So many of them," Lizarius panted. "Good. I didn't give any of them a chance to use their sound wave attack. Otherwise, I would be the one lying on the ground."
Lizarius walked towards the corpses of the Moonlight Bats and began to eat. After a while of feasting,
the system announced, "You gained 17000 Evolution Points and 200 Moonlight Bat Genes."
I never got this many points so easily, Lizarius thought. And this many genes… He shook his head. I shouldn't have let any of them escape. Maybe there are more deeper inside the cave. He cautiously explored further into the cave, but he couldn't find any more Moonlight Bats.
He returned to the entrance of the cave where he had killed the first wave of bats. I around inside the cave but couldn't find any. "System," he commanded, "fuse all the Genes."
A powerful shock ran through his body, but Lizarius didn't stop. He felt a sharp, intense pain emanating from his back. He saw it then – wings, large, leathery wings, were growing out of his back. he try endured it.
But The pain was excruciating, ended up passing out
"Evolution complete," the system announced.
Lizarius slowly opened his eyes. He was lying on the floor, covered in blood, but the pain had subsided. He looked at his back and saw the newly formed wings, still slightly twitching. Wings… he thought, marveling at his transformation.
He tried to move the wings, and to his surprise, he had complete control over them. It's like I have new limbs, he thought excitedly. "Can I also use sound waves attack ?" he asked the system.
"The sound wave are apart of the gene" The system announced
He turned his head towards the inside of the cave and let out a low, guttural sound. A shockwave emanated from his mouth, traveling deep into the cave. Fragments of rock rained down from the ceiling.
Lucky I didn't give those bats a chance to use that attack on me, Lizarius thought. I wouldn't have been able to survive it.
